Justice League of America: Cry for Justice

The best I have read by far
This is by far the best Justice League arc I have read. The artwork is lovely but it conveys a dark atmosphere to the whole story line. The plot is very sinister. How they Heroes losses has awakened a desire for justice, an eye for an eye style! This kept me glued to it until the very end, and the climax is very satisfying

Narrative in a grand American tradition
The difficult journey from hopelessness to "hope in the unseen," to, that is, faith that a better life awaits, is an often told story. In America, we have the "Autobiography" of Benjamin Franklin; slave narratives, like Frederick Douglass's "Narrative"; poverty-to-riches fiction like Horatio Alger's; immigrant narratives, like David Eggers's "What is the What." There is more than one account of ...

A great read for a true baseball fan
This book is just downright funny and yet quite poignant as well. Dirk Hayhurst is a great observer of a particular sub culture that must be compared and quite appropriately soto Jim Bouton's Ball Four. What makes this book even more interesting is that he is talking about the minor leagues and the dreams, often unrealistic, of young men pursuing a goal to "make it" in the big leagues. The ...

Plan on some sleepless nights from not wanting to put it down
I loved this book. I think any crime/suspense fan will also. A real page turner. I don't want to be a spoiler, so won't give any specific details. The characters become very real and the author's use of words paints everything in vivid detail

Medically accurate and up-to-date, while not ignoring the relationship aspect.
As with previous editions, this book is the go-to book on breastfeeding information for mothers at every stage of the nursing journey. Filled with practical info, spiced with delightful humor, and a very easy read - written in short snippets for busy moms, new and experienced. The medical information is accurate and up-to-date, but this book also validates what every breastfeeding mother before ...

A delightful adventure
How much readers enjoyed this 1905 adventure can be judged by the fact that Orzy wrote thirteen more books about the Scarlet Pimpernel from 1906-1936 and by the more than several films and TV shows made of her story. The well-known tale is about Paris during the French Revolution. The Scarlet Pimpernel hides his true English identity and outwits the ruthless tyrants of the French Revolution, men ...

Best of the Multiples Books
I already had a 4 year old and a 2 year old when my twins were born 3 months ago. I felt like a pro when it came to breastfeeding my singletons! However, I was scared & frustrated by the lack of sufficient info to help me prepare for the pregnancy & raising of my twins. Every single "Twin Resource" I picked up in the bookstore was worthless to me. I was searching an elusive prize: The Perfect ...

Review of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
As an adventure story, there are few that can touch this classic. I remember reading through this book around 10 years old and how much I loved reading about all of the various life forms beneath the sea. I also credit this book for my fascination with all things aquatic. There's a lot of criticism on all of the technical jargon included in this book and I don't really understand that. If ...

It does its job
I picked this book up at the library. My father is an amateur radio operator, and I wanted to explore the subject. I thought that perhaps me picking up the hobby would get him fired up to get back involved. I read the book, and answered the questions. Upon reaching the book's conclusion (about 1 month later, as I'm a casual reader), I felt confident I had learned the material. The book is laid ...

Fabulous book.
This is one of the best books available on the subject of college search and application process. It's really important to 'think outside the box' a bit when exploring colleges and not just consider the schools that you hear about in the news, from your peers, etc. It's about the 'fit', not the prestige. And Loren Pope is awesome!

Very Practical Book
I think Tynan's book is one of the more practical pick-up books out there. I've been a fan of pick-up artist material for a while from a psychological standpoint and Make Her Chase You does a great job of explaining techniques that range from basic to in depth without all tons of specific lingo and acronyms like many other books on the subject. It's a great read if you are looking for better ...

Reality Check for Ivy League Wanna-Be's!
As an independent college consultant, I meet many first-time clients whose Dream School is among the Ivies or other elite institutions. Based on experience, I have a pretty good sense, right off the bat, whether the student has a shot at these most competitive schools. Dr. Hernandez's book spells out specifics that can help such a student know "what it will take" to get into an Ivy, and can also ...

THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, VOL 1 is a graphic novel. It is most assuredly not a comic book intended for children. Rather it is solid proof that mainstream comic books can be combined with exciting, imaginative adventure and story-telling, illustrated with serious, skilled artwork that merits close examination in each and every panel aimed at serious adult readers with eclectic tastes ...
