Great book for preschoolers
This book is one of the best I've found to teach my 2-year old about the traditions of Halloween. The book is beautifully illustrated with autumn scenes of fallen leaves, pumpkin patches, and not-too-scary trick-or-treaters. I was able to reinforce many familiar objects (pumpkins, apples, and scarecrows) with my toddler while introducing her to new ones (Indian corn, skeletons, and witches) ...

Great book for toddlers
This book is interactive without the use of batteries or electronics. Small children love to lift the flaps to answer the questions posed by the text. The one drawback of this particular edition is the size. It very large for younger children (2-3 years old)

This is a good book for stimulating curiosity and teaching comparisons in pre-schoolers. Most children love any book with a flap to lift.

Great book for toddlers!
My 21 month old son absolutely loves this book. He actually knows his numbers from 1 -10 and recognizes a few from 11-20. Although this book only covers numbers up to 10, and I know that his knowledge can be attributed to several books, I definitely think that this interactive one gives numbers new life. He asks me to read this book with him at least 5 times a day! The pictures are wonderful ...

My son loved it!
We got this book for my 2 1/2 year old son when we were moving cross country and needed lots of items to keep his little hands busy. He loves lift-the-flap-books and Dora, so this seemed like an ideal book. He did enjoy it, but it didn't keep him busy for too long because there is only 1 large flap to look under per 2 pages open. I suppose it's my fault for not taking a sneak peek at the book ...

My 3 and 1/2 year old picked this book out when we went to the dinosaur museum. He is absolutely dinosaur obsessed. This book get sread at bed time every night then is tucked in with him. It's bright and coloful and educational as well. He knows all the names of the dinos featured and has even picked up some facts to pass on to his grandparents. I would highly reccomend this book to parents.

My daughter loved this book as a baby & still does at 4!!!
This was one of the first books my daughter liked to look at as a baby. She loved to lift the flaps and look at the picture printed on the page underneath. Being able to add our own pictures on the back of the flaps makes the book even more special. Now, as a 4 year-old, my daughter loves to look at the book to see pictures of herself as a baby. I highly recommmend this book and plan to ...

Kid Approved!
This is a really cute board book for toddlers. The story tells of all the visitors that came to the innkeeper's door in Bethlehem on Christmas eve. The last of these visitors was Mary & Joseph. During the night the animals are awakened by the sound of Baby Jesus crying. The artwork is delightful and each page has a sturdy flap to lift to see who's there. This would make a great book for ...

Cool book for little people
I have the German translation of this book, and I started reading it to my son when he was a little under six months old. Even the first time around, he focused on the pictures and clearly loved the book. Now he is 7 months, and I read it to him every day, several times - he instantly smiles when he sees it, and he gets upset when I try to put it away after only one reading. The colors and clear ...

GREAT BOOK!
My son LOVES this book! He received it as a gift when he was 3 months old. The first time I took it out, he was crying and I used the music to try and distract him - it worked like a charm! Within minutes, he was laughing, looking at the pictures, and grabbing at the flaps. This book became an essential item in my diaper bag - it always calmed him when he was upset or distracted him when he ...

This book captured my heart as well as my 2 year-old daughter. She was delighted with the many flaps and richly toned warm illustrations outlining the Bible stories she loves. I was impressed with the darling details of illustrations and loved how each Bible story was briefly narrated in a story format in a toddler-friendly tone. References for where the story can be found was another ...

A family favorite...
My 20 month old son received this book as a Christmas gift. It quickly became his favorite book, and today I am returning to amazon.ca to purchase the remaining books in the series. A must book for young growing minds
Being a "book family" and spending hours searching book stores and TEST-READING so many titles before purchasing, we stumbled upon this class H.A. Rey book and it's a "REAL WINNER". Our 3 yr old grandson Derek wants it read to him every night and I being an old zoo keeper and teacher enjoy it just as much as he does. Bah humbug to those who say it is repetitious - in repetition lies the ...

GREAT lift-the-flap book for toddlers
As far as lift-the-flap type books go this is a fantastic one. There are a lot of flaps to lift and they all coincide with the theme of the particular page - counting, colors, opposites, etc. When you open the flap and place it back against the page it doesn't cover-up what is behind it, but matches it instead so that the picture is seemless - my favorite part about this line of lift-the-flap ...
