This book is a tool. Remember that and you'll love it.
I picked this book up at my local library without knowing anything about it. I didn't spend much time with it while I was browsing and when I got it home I thumbed through it for about 15 minutes trying to get a better sense of the process of constructing plots ... without reading the instructions. I was baffled. Then I dialed up Amazon and read some of the reviews. Most of them are ...

Water in the dessert for thirsty souls
This is a rare yogabook. Very few teachers have dealt with the ethic principles of yoga with such clarity and practicalilty as this author. The Yama and Niyama, the ten ethic principles of Patanjali yoga is the very foundation of this most practised form of yoga, but most eastern and western teachers skip this all together in fear of presenting yoga as religious and moralistic. With so ...

Why couldn't there have bene a book like this when I was in college.
I am an advisor for a sorority and I wish someone had put this book in my hands back when I was an active. For any chapter that is not doing as well as they'd like in recruiting girls and is not sure where to start with fixing the problem, this book is for you. There isn't another book out there like it, either.

There is no way George Noory could have written this book.
I read the better part of this book at the bookstore, while waiting a few minutes for my car to be serviced. Yes, it's that fluffy of a read. But let's be honest, there is no way that George Noory could have written this book, or any other book. I have been listening to C2C for years, and I honestly think that Mr. Noory may be in the early stages of dementia. Seriously. His word selection is ...

Great Life-Coaching Reference
I'm fascinated by the Life Coaching profession. It is one of my (many) goals to become a certified life coach. In the meantime, I read everything I can get my hands on regarding it. This book is my current read. It's a challenging book, with some great information. Practical exercises, thought provoking challenges for a coach's own mindset, and many different ways to look at coaching ...

The Mind Is A Terrible Thing; Waste It
The normal members of the scientific community demand "proof", or some sort of stupid human trick, before they accept the existence of "expanded awareness". How refreshing to see someone of Russell Targ's stature show how the research they were doing into PSI had roots in Buddhism, mention in The Tibetan Book of the Dead, Hinduism, and other Eastern philosophies, some over 10,000 years old. As ...

I liked this book
This work contains 15 essays written by Stanley Jaki, a well-known Benedictine priest and author of numerous works on the relationship between science and religion. The essays concern a number of topics familiar to Jaki's readers such as artificial intelligence, SETI, evolution, cosmology, and others. I enjoyed best the essays in the book in which Jaki discusses the concepts of purpose, ...

Fellowship review
I read Hecate's review of this story and I also noted additional reviews this person has provided on other authors. The other reviews were all derogatory and 1 star. Seems to me nothing will satisfy you. I find the review comments harsh and frankly ridiculous. Therefore, I wanted to provide a more accurate review. I have read the Fellowship and greatly enjoyed the book. The character ...

Delightful, Intensely emotional, wonderful story
This is a super book to read on a lazy afternoon or evening. You won't want to stop reading until you finish. The author writes perfectly crafted characters you swear must have stepped out of real life. As in all her books there are many, many laugh out loud moments. I love that the author gives the reader so much personal reflection by the characters - I always feel like I know them better ...

Really Excellent
I'm really surprised this isn't available new. I bought it a couple of years ago and am now reading it for the third time. It's based on a series of teaching statements made by one of the Karmapas in the distant past and Ole Nydahl fills in each chapter as commentary and explanation of the verses. Ole Nydahl is a westerner from Denmark who has devoted his life to traveling and teaching ...

Anyone out there who needs a jump start to their libido should purchase a copy of this book. It sizzles! PWP is a collection of romantic short stories wrapped around hot steamy graphic sex ... not a bad combination. Those of you who do not have a ...

A Unique and Inspiring Wake-up Call
This is one of the most clear-headed books I've read in years on the subject of real, nitty gritty, get your hands dirty spiritual development (as opposed to the fru fru New Age variety). So much of what passes for "spirituality" in our time amounts to some author, celebrity, priest, philosopher or self-appointed guru telling us what to "believe," sight unseen, if we want to reach heaven, attain ...

What a whiz bang of a story! Ms Colmar's debut novel is the beginning of being a future popular writer and I'm betting that she'll just get bigger and better. She did a terrific job of making this story totally impossible to put down! Way to go Joyce!

For the Love of a Woman by S. Anne Gardner
A neatly compressed tale, with many pleasures, not the least being of which is the ability to transport the reader to another time, another place, filled with twists and turns, light and darkness, struggles and triumphs, love and desire...Gardner is at her best when writing of a historical period she loves, and Argentina is obviously dear to her heart. The emotional and social intrigues of the ...

Refusing to stay put...
Anne Robertson, a United Methodist minister in New England, writes, 'There are few things more upsetting than a God who refuses to stay put...' Anne Robertson gives a wonderful, personal development of the idea of God being bigger and broader than one can possibly imagine. I've often used the example in my preaching that God is more than any idea we could ever have of God; this is rather ...

Limitless Limits is a poetry collection that reveals poetic genius pushed to the extreme limits. A mix of philosophical and naïve innocent portraits depict a world that is infinite in the finite. Modern questions try to grasp meaning in non meaning as the question of identity is examined. Limits are defined through the portraits painted in the words that reveal and conceal being that is other. Themes that deal with love, loss, death and ...
