Path to Eating Right
Cooking Light magazine is the best lifestyle, health conscience magazine published. It appeals to the novice and the experienced chef and health nut. I bought the book because I own 2 previous editions. These cookbooks are awesome. Years ago, I barely knew how to throw together spaghetti. Now, I explore my cookbooks and magazines for new ideas. The recipes appeal, not only to me, but my ...

Good introductory book, but outdated
This book is a great introduction to low-light photography. It covers many of the basics, and gives some very interesting hints, like the fact that it never really gets completely dark. The comparison between two pictures of the author's house blew me away. One was taken with a multi-hour exposure at night, the other during the day, and you can barely tell the difference. The book, however, ...

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!
I've always had more than a few extra pounds on my frame. So when then new year came around I decided, like a lot of people to make a resolution to lose weight. Well, I ordered this book and began following the recipies within and I have lost over 40 pounds within the last few months! Just remember no seconds ;) One thing that always kept me from eating "light" foods before was lack of taste, ...

Finally a great book to learn from
I have gotten tired of flipping through books titled "Everything you could ever know about photography" that is only 120 pages of big fonts. THIS book does not fall into this category. It is well-written, laid out in a logical manner, and full of excellent instruction. It has examples by professional photographers on different techniques and subjects in night photography. Each example has a ...

Outstanding Taste & Real Time Saver
This book has by far the easiest and best-tasting recipies. It is perfect for a small family who are health concious and prefer spending time together rather than in the kitchen. The meals are so flavorfully creative and my family just loves everything that comes out of this book. The best part is the book has great time-saving and serving suggestions that really complement each other. I would ...

Every recipe is delicious
The recipes take a boring meat (chicken) and make it scrumptious. We haven't found a recipe we don't like yet! Some of the recipes take a long time (chicken dumplings) but others are quick for weeknights. The book is well-organized with one-dish meals, dinner tonight (for faster recipes), on the grill, and recipes to serve company. The nutrition information is always included and the meals ...

Good Recipes
I find myself often doing "stew" type slow cooking and picked up this recipe book to expand some more. Good recipes and can be made without too much preparation. 30-40 minutes for the most part, and I usually prepare it the night before and leave in the fridge. Turn it on in the AM and have a good meal waiting when I am ready.

A healthy cookbook you'll actually use!
I borrowed a copy of this from my secretary and then had to get my own copy. The food is so good, you don't realize that you're eating healthy! I have yet to find a recipe that hasn't turned out to be very delicious in the book. I highly recommend it.

Interesting Reading
I picked up a lot of ideas of things to take pictures of from this book. The way it was written was interesting reading and covered a wide scope of photography topics. The only reason that I didn't give it five stars was because I was looking for more of a "how to" type of book with more indepth information that what it had. But I am still glad that I have this book and think that it is worth ...

Cooking Light Low-Fat Low Calorie Quick and Easy Cookbook
These recipes definately save fat, calories and time. The meals taste great and you don't feel like you are sacrificing on taste. Some recipes do take a little more time than the book states but they are well worth it. I also like that they break down the calories by what percent come from fat. I like the recipe tips offered in the book as well as how the book is broken down by desserts, ...

No new information to "Interested Beginner" and above
This book is simply too basic. I am just an amateur who has photography as a hobby. Over time I have picked up on the basics of photography, and this book teaches nothing beyond the very basics. Below I will give a brief but complete synopsis of the entire book, chapter by chapter. If there is anything new to you in my synopsis, then purchase this book. Otherwise, skip it. 1. Great Cookbook!
Another wonderful addition to my Cooking Light cookbook collection! If you are a subscriber to the magazine, or purchase the annual cookbook, then these recipes are all repeats. However, the book is well put together on high quality paper, and offers lots of full-color glossy photos. It also offers menu suggestions, which I appreciate. I love the fact that the recipes offered here are all ...

Shanghai: High Lights, Low Lights, Tael Lights
Maurine Karns & Pat Patterson
China Economic Review Publishing Ltd
, 2009
Tael Lights, first published in 1936, is a guidebook to the seamier side of Shanghai in the mid-1930s, when it was at its most outrageous. The authors, two pretty dissolute foreigners living life to the fullest and working at least partially in a Whangpoo whiskey haze, stress the nightlife, particularly the sex and sin side of the city. Political correctness hardly enters into it.

love the magazine? then you'll love this cookbook
I subscribe to Cooking Light and don't often get to read the entire magazine, let alone cook most of the recipies in them. I got this book at a clearance sale from a major retailor and it was a steal! The recipies are wonderful, the pictures are beautiful, and it has the most simple of recipes to the most complex. this cookbook is a must have!
