The Important Book38 reviews
Margaret Wise Brown

HarperTrophy, 1990

Great Book to Start the Year
I read this book to my students and then used the predictable format to create a class book highlighting the important thing about each student. The students seemed to enjoy the story quite a bit.

Identical9 reviews
Ellen Hopkins

Margaret K. McElderry, 2008

One of the most Awesome Books I've ever read!
This book is very very good. I've read and recommend Crank, Burned, Glass and Impulse which were very great as well. This book is about twins who depend on each other for everything, more than one may come to realize. Towards the end, the book reveals everything, things that you wondered about in the beginning, and things that didn't catch your eye until it was brought upon in the end which were ...

Goodnight Bush: A Parody54 reviews
Gan Golan, Erich Origen

Little, Brown and Company, 2008

laugh out loud
This is a wonderful detail-filled parody of the children's book "Goodnight Moon". It has all the charm of the original, twisted into the bizarre world of Bush and Cheney. It is darkly humerous. I find that my friends who do not have children don't get it, as they have not read"Goodnight Moon" so I bought a copy for them to read before I hand them "Goodnight Bush".

The Handmaid's Tale: A Novel555 reviews
Margaret Atwood

Anchor, 1998

A typical futuristic tale from Margaret Atwood
An interesting read from Margaret Atwood. This is definitely a story noire, set in the not too distant future in a dictatorial, 'Orwellian' society . Life is a struggle and one does whatever one has to do, just to get by. And whatever one has to do just to get by, is usually controlled by the state. I like Margaret Atwood's style of story telling; she takes a decidedly different plot and ...

Goodnight Moon581 reviews
Margaret Wise Brown

HarperFestival, 1991

Must Have Childhood Classic
Goodnight Moon is a delightful book and a wonderful addition to any child's book collection. As a little girl, it was mine and my sister's favorite book. Having just announced her pregnancy to the family, we've all commented that Goodnight Moon will surely be read to my sister's little one often. In fact, the baby will probably end up with more than one copy! The rhythmic text detailing a ...

Leadership and the New Science: Discovering Order in a Chaotic World46 reviews
Margaret J Wheatley

Berrett-Koehler Publishers, 2006

How do Complex Systems Change?
1. Why aren't organizations working well? Organizations fail because they devalue the relationship networks that exist within their organization. This world of relationships is rich and complex. None of us exists independent of our relationships with others. Systems influence individuals, and individuals call forth systems. It is the relationship that evokes the present reality. Which potential ...

The Runaway Bunny140 reviews
Margaret Wise Brown

HarperFestival, 1991

Very nice book
I just ordered books for my almost 2 year old grandchild. Out of the seven I sent her my daughter says that the baby loves this one the most. The pictures are nice in a vintage style of soft colors and pen and ink. My grandchild listens while the entire book is read.

knitting
The Knitting Answer Book: Solutions to Every Problem You'll Ever Face; Answers to Every Question You'll Ever Ask I love this book. I am a long time knitter who needs good directions and don't always get them. Hopefully, this book will fill the need to help me interpret some of the questionable directions I have found in pattens and make knitting a more enjoyable and productive hobby for me.

A masterpiece from cover to cover
Dostoevsky has crafted a monolithic work of literature in every respect here. The book is broad in its scope, exploring numerous themes--alienation from society, criminal psychology, poverty, benevolence, confession, ...

Death's Half Acre12 reviews
Margaret Maron

Grand Central Publishing, 2008

One of the best in the series
Once again, Margaret Maron writes a compelling mystery with all the right ingredients: a strong believable heroine, a suspenseful plot, a strong sense of place and even a few touches of humor. Luckily I set aside some time on a rainy weekend. It's not a book I can put down easily. Fans of Deborah Knott will be relieved to find that Deborah's marriage has not weakened the series. We don't get ...

Thanksgiving Is for Giving Thanks4 reviews
Margaret Sutherland, Sonja Lamut

Grosset & Dunlap, 2000

What is your child thankful for? Read & find out!
This is one of those special books that involve your children and actually makes them think about what are they thankful. For me Thanksgiving is a holiday where family and friends gather around a table full of wonderful food and this is where this book starts. I like that book includes different families and that it doesn't focus on the 1st Thanksgiving, but about things that each child is ...
