Study Guide for Foundations of Maternal-Newborn Nursing4 reviews
Sharon Smith Murray

Saunders, 2005

Nursing Student Review
This is the best book we've had in my RN, BSN program so far. The content is very easy to read. The sentences are kept short and to the point. The content is repeated over and over in different places in the chapters as well as throughout the book, making it easier to remember the main points. The summaries at the end of each chapter really focus on the main points and great for last ...

Prentice Hall Nursing Reviews & Rationals: Maternal-Newborn Nursing (2nd Edition) (Prentice Hall Nursing ...8 reviews
Mary Ann Hogan, Rita Glazebrook, ...

Prentice Hall, 2006

This book is Great!
I purchased this book at the beggining of my women's health class. First test out I had a 19 chaper test, with well over 300 pages to read. Probably more.I was totally stressing over all the pages I had to read and how I was gonna retain all this information in such a short period of time. So I started reading this book, which is basically an outline that covers the key information, and gets rid ...

Maternal, Fetal, & Neonatal Physiology: A Clinical Perspective (Maternal Fetal and Neonatal Physiology)1 review
Susan Blackburn

Saunders, 2007

Comprehensive, yet riddled with typo's and careless errors
I used this book for the past term in grad school. It is quite detailed in anatomy and biochemistry. Susan Blackburn incorporates many research studies into the text. Perhaps that is what makes the information at times contradictory. There are misspellings and typos here and there. There are some statements that don't make sense, and are written opposite of what should be. For example, page 701, ...

Study Guide for Maternal Child Nursing Care1 review
Donna L. Wong, Karen A. Piotrowski, ...

Mosby, 2005

OK book, but excessive information
This study guide was on our 'recommended' book list for our OB/Peds semester of nursing school to accompany the required textbook, so I bought it. Although it's very thorough, the overwhelming amount of information has made it minimally helpful in my studying. My class doesn't follow the book, and instead the instructors assign us pages to read based on the subject of the lecture... so for any ...

Maternal Child Nursing Care (Wong, Maternal Child Nursing Care)4 reviews
Donna L. Wong, Shannon E. Perry, ...

Mosby, 2005

Good book, even though it's required
This book was required for my last semester of nursing school (OB/Peds), but I still think it's a good book. It does a good job of combining OB & Peds instead of having two separate (and often confusing) references as we've had in other subjects. ~~~It's now near the end of the semester and I wanted to amend my review of this book. I tried to change my rating to 4 stars and couldn't. I ...

Core Curriculum for Maternal-Newborn Nursing (Core Curriculum for Maternal-Newborn Nursing (AWHONN))5 reviews
AWHONN, Susan Mattson, ...

Saunders, 2004

Great Resource
The new edition of the AWHONN Core Curriculum for Maternal Newborn Nursing is excellent. It allows the staff on the units to have the latest information on clinical practice, guidelines for care, and patient education. The only thing more would be to have an appendix of common OB/Newborn procedures and protocols/guidelines and much of the annual hospital activities revolving around the ...

Great book to have during nursing school.
This is a great book......would recommend this to any nursing student. It really helped me get through nursing level 2. It really breaks the important material down and makes it easier to understand. The CD has Nclex type questions that are really helpful as well.

Delmar's Maternal-Infant Nursing Care Plans (Delmar's Maternal- Infant Nursing Care Plans)1 review
Karla L. Luxner

Delmar Cengage Learning, 2004

The best out there. Great but a little hard to get around in.
I am a nursing student and purchased this for my pediatric/OB semester to help out with care plans. It is worth the purchase for sure although I recommend flipping around in it before using the index because it's a little hard to find what you want. For example, if your client has Gestational Diabetes you can't just find that in the index, you have to look up "nutrition" or other key problems. ...
