This is brilliantly written in that it captures the emotion of the author giving the book substance. The narrative from beginning to end is clear. This is a book about 'transition', and none the less 'transformation', and solitude in the arm's of non medication, meditation. We see Elizabeth Gilbert transform from none the less a convoluted neurotic woman disturbed by a life awakening, a ...

Artie lange book review
This is a well put together book, but not a book for comedy if that is what you are looking for. it is instead a book about life and the pitfalls we all sometimes put ourselves in and must deal with. for additive personalities this book will relate to you, but those looking for laughs solely should attend one of his shows instead. overall great read though and I would recommend to friends.

A Must Read
Every once in awhile a book comes along that you can't put down and stop talking about and this is one of those books. It is an amazing story in and of itself, but it is also well written. It will draw you in. You will laugh and you will cry. You will feel you personally know this man Greg and you will cheer for him along the way. This is a must read.

Well Done
Very well written, and an easy (fast) read. I found myself reading late into the night. Fascinating depiction of the full character of Ted Turner - what drives him, what upsets him, what pleases him. The "Ted Stories" (little insets) written by others are great, no holds-barred they simply tell what others (in their own words) had come across in their experience. Ted does a great job of ...

Great book for these economic times
In these troubled economic times the books value for me is in the common sense lessons Mr Buffet has to offer, be it living a simple lifestyle, to investing in what you know and trust as well as knowing that to those that much has been given, much is required. Would make a great gift, especially for that young person starting out or that person who thinks materialism is what will make them happy.

Vowell Is A Historian's John Stewart
Witty, droll, and insightful, she took on the early Massachusetts Bay Colony--the Puritans who settled Masschutsetts Bay--Salem, Boston, Cambridge, etcetera ten years after Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock--but puts what they wrote and did in the context of their time and what occurred before and after: from John Wycliffe's fourteen century English translation of the Bible to the present, ...

insight
Working in the health care field I have seen a lot of changes in the last 30 years. We look at strokes and dementia differently than before. It was nice for someone to say "I'm in here, come and get me". A new look at the patients that I care for. More kindness, more wondering at what is whirling through their minds and a knowing that they are communicating I just need to figure out what they ...

Common Sense still exist...
This is a terrific book and so far has been a joy to read. It points out the shortcomings that as humans we have created, yet at the same time offers solutions that are so simple. Maybe if we packaged seeds and growing our own food with a remote control or some new techno gadget, people might get interested?

I found this book most interesting. It is a shame this boy had to endure as much pain as he did both from the medications and from the way he was treated at times. His was a long journey from sickness to relative good health. It is well worth the read.

The Owl Whisperer
You will not find a better book on the love of animals this year, than Wesley the Owl: The Remarkable Love Story of an Owl and His Girl. One of the fascinating things about "Wesley" is the transformation you see the author, Stacey O'Brien, going through -- from a very scientific, analytical mind to an awakening and acceptance of telepathy as a form of communication between humans and animals. ...

the truth behind gas prices
A great book! T. Boone Pickens is a true Patriot. One who loves this country and mankind before the love of money. I enjoyed knowing more about the man and his direction for America's energy future; even though I did not agree with everything he says. For example, as the author of The Truth Behind Gas Prices, a former gas dealer and someone who has studied this industry for 12 years, I believe ...

Open your eyes
For those of us who wish we could believe that a certain kind of America was left behind in the 1800's or 1960's, this is a book of both truth and hope. This story is powerful both in its portrayal of reality and its substantiation of the difference which can still be made by individual people who dare to care. It is a story, not a treatise on how to change the institutions. But, it just may ...

Great follow-up to "Mr and Mrs Happy Handbook"
Steve Doocy has done it again with "Tales from the Dad Side" book. It is real life, funny, and full of great stories that match my own experiences. This book should be turned into a weekly sitcom. I wouldn't expect any less from Steve Doocy, whom I love to watch on Fox and Friends where he shares his life along with the news. Get this book and laugh, smile and share with your own family and ...
