Thank you to The Love Coach!
This is a great book that I wish was around when I was still single. I spent so many years reading relationship books that were more about healing and self-examination, when really what most single women need are tips on how to look for a mensch (regardless of your ethnic or religious background!) Robin's practical tips and real-life anecdotes let the reader know that there's nothing wrong with ...

A work of impressive scholarship
Profusely illustrated with illustrative photos, "South Street" by Barbara G. Mensch is a history of New York City's famous Fullerton Fish Market. Barbara's photography combines nicely with her lively and informative stories of a colorful community of fishmongers who worked together, resisted outside influences of government and corporations, and basically policed themselves. "South Street" ...
From Schlub to Stud: How to Embrace Your Inner Mensch and Conquer the Big City
Max Gross
Skyhorse Publishing
, 2008
Knocked Up revealed that schlubs really can become studshere's how! For years after college, Max Gross was a schlubby ne'er-do-well sporting an unwieldy Jewfro. He fought off double-chins and man-boobs. His style of dress was reminiscent of a stoned urban slacker. Young Max Gross truly was hapless in a big city. He was seemingly without luck or hope. He had bedbugs, a bad break-up, and an audit by the IRS that threatened to break his ...

brings memories
Dr. Gottleib's book so very well describes growing up in the late 20s and 30s in an immigrant Detroit neighborhood that so much resembled scrambling up in New York City. There is humor and great honesty in the telling of this man's story of becoming a complete man... a mensch. I read it in two days and wish it was longer.

Inspirational
I really love this book, Nell is a great role model who likes herself as she trully is. She inspired me to be "real" and not be so critical of my shortcoming i.e. not being perfect, skinny enough, motivated enough, rich enough, smart enough. I'm lucky to have found this book and think that it would be great for children as an great example of healthy self-esteem and self-acceptance.

A Mensch Among Men: Explorations in Jewish Masculinity

Jewish issues and men's studies come together.
This is a revolutionary book that many men, whether Jewish or non-Jewish, should read. If I understand correctly, most men's studies texts were produced in the 1990s and yet this text deals with two identities and was written back in 1987. Further, this book was published before the success of "Seinfeld," the infamy of "The Jerry Springer Show," Al Gore's nomination of Joseph Lieberman as a ...
Wild Duck: Empirische Philosophie der Mensch-Computer-Vernetzung

Springer
, 2008
