Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple (Medmaster)119 reviews
Mark Gladwin, Bill Trattler

MedMaster Inc., 2007

This book has a sense of humor
This is a great text book for micro, the way it is written is very unique and helps you remember everything, great sense of humor put in to it, which also as a memory factor, I laugh a lot reading about bacteria or viruses, which i could never think is possible while you are studying micro, Bottom line is this is a great text book for ...

Microbiology with Diseases by Taxonomy: AND Practical Skills in Biomolecular Sciences2 reviews
Rob Reed, David Holmes, ...

Addison Wesley, 2007

great text
This text is very helpful with its readable language and diagrams. It provides a sufficient review of basic biology and is written so that one could technically skip chapters and still understand the topics. The text's website and CD provide excellent review tests, flashcards, and animations. However in some sections and chapters, the author has not organized the flow very well, especially ...

Medical Microbiology: with STUDENT CONSULT Access (Medical Microbiology)15 reviews
Patrick R. Murray, Michael A. Pfaller, ...

Mosby, 2005

Fantastic book ...
I used this book for my undergrad class and luckily my med school also uses this. As well as my husband has a previous copy that he used in med school. The text is very thorough, although it was lacking in a basic classification of bacteria, that would have been nice. (Like a chart of all gram - on one side and all gram +). Just gave a previous edition to a physician for reference and he ...

Microbiology: An Evolving Science
Joan L. Slonczewski, John W. Foster

W. W. Norton, 2008

Microbiology: An Evolving Science promotes a clear understanding of this rapidly advancing field in two distinctive ways. First, an emphasis on current research, genomics, and molecular genetics enables students to learn how microbiologists think as they master the discipline's foundational topics. Second, a stunning and consistently executed art program helps students visualize key microbiological processes and structures.

Images are great references.
The images are great for referencing the different cells charachteristics under a microscope. Convenient when you are studying somewhere besides lab.

Microbiology: Alternate Edition With Disease By Body System3 reviews
Robert W. Bauman, Elizabeth Machunis-Masuoka, ...

Benjamin-Cummings Publishing Company, 2006

useful textbook
I found the text a must-buy for my microbiology class. Without it I would have been lost. The parasites, viruses and bacteria were described with utmost clarity. Microbiology Study Guide by Patrick Leonardi had great test questions to study from. I also used Microbiology Made Ridciously Simple as a reference.

James Cappuccino, Natalie Sherman

Benjamin Cummings, 2004

Micro lab book

Microbiology: A Human Perspective w/ARIS bind in card2 reviews
Eugene W Nester, Denise G. Anderson, ...

McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math, 2005

microbiology review
I purchased this book for my Microbiology class and it is very helpful. My teacher uses the same figures and tables as in the book, which are easily readable/understandable especially when you think of each process as steps. My advise is to buy the book if you need to and take advantage of the given website that is given to you in the beginning pages to test your knowledge.

Textbook of Diagnostic Microbiology5 reviews
Connie R. Mahon, George Manuselis, ...

Saunders, 2006

Mahon and Manuselis - the best of both worlds
I was so pleased to find the second edition of Mahon and Manuselis because it addresses weaknesses of other texts we have used recently with senior level clinical laboratory science students. M & M find a good balance between an organism oriented approach and a body site/culture type orientation. We found the 10th ed of Bailey and Scott's text to be strong in the latter but not the former ...

Microbiology: A Human Perspective w/ARIS1 review
Eugene W Nester, Denise G. Anderson, ...

McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math, 2006

well-written textbook
very nicely designed with good diagrams and clear wording. The recommended web site in the book is not bad but could have a lot more information.

Benjamin-Cummings Pub Co, 1997

Great
I recieved my book in a fast time frame and it was exactly what I needed for school!

Introduction to Microbiology: A Case-History Study Approach (with CD-ROM and InfoTrac®)4 reviews
John L. Ingraham, Catherine A. Ingraham

Brooks Cole, 2003

great intro book
I got this book with a Medical Micro book for a class. While the approach of this book is occasionally juvenal (I don't need a little story about a boy getting a puncture wound to explain the immune response), it has been a good fall-back reference as the material is organized differently from the other text.

Microbiology: Laboratory Theory and Application10 reviews
Michael J. Leboffe, Burton E. Pierce

Morton Publishing Company, 2006

AWESOME SELLER
My lab book came promptly (with 3 days of ordering) and in awesome shape! They said it was brand new and unused and it appears that way! Got it at a good price too. No sweat!

Foundations in Microbiology4 reviews
Kathleen Park Talaro

McGraw-Hill Science/Engineering/Math, 2006

Textbook
Decent text, helpful images... I bought this book for a microbiology class-- note to future students: just buy an older edition. they don't change too much and spending $$$ on a new hardcover current edition for ONE semester of college isn't worth it.
