Wonderful book! Great pictures!
I received this book for Christmas from my husband. I absolutely love it! It is a big, heavy book with lots of great pictures and stories in it. It was so much fun to learn about these adventurous ladies who opened the path for women motorcycle riders. This made me even more excited about learning to ride! I highly recommend this book but too wish that it had been printed in the USA and not in ...

Wonderful photos! Words could never tell this story.
Vietnam's economy in blossoming. The people are enterprising, hard-working, gutsy and delightful. This book, with its clever, perfect title, paints a picture of today's Vietnam that words could never describe - you have to see it to believe it. How Hans Kemp managed to take these pictures of individual bikes in the swarming masses of moped traffic I can only guess. It's a masterpiece.

Mr. Adams has captured the joy of dual sport motorcycling. His skills, passion for the sport, and ability to communicate make this book a must read. The text is well written and very readable. In The Wind Again
I'm glad this was the first bike journey I found to read. "Living" Robert's experiences even though vicariously, amped up my desire to make yet another solo or duo bike journey to places I've never been. I have to hand it to these authors who tread out of country into the third world corners. The way the world is these days, I believe the USA and Canada will have to remain my playground. This ...

Most improved writer!
I read Glen's earlier book several years back. I kind of had to force myself to continue reading through some parts to get to the good stuff. What a difference with the new book. The author is humbler and more open than before. He takes chances just to see what's there. His writing is more fluid and less confrontational than the TWTT book. This one is a keeper. I will read it again next ...

Read this book!
This is one of those edge-of-your-seat, can't-put-it-down kind of stories. As billed, it's a great character study, but it's also chockablock with exciting and realistic action and even a good romance to boot. The protagonist is unique and appealing, and each main character is richly drawn and compelling in his or her own right. At the 99-cent March Madness price for the Kindle, it is an ...

Hilarious Happily Ever After through Interactive Storytelling
Once Upon a Cool Motorcycle Dude by Kevin O'Malley, Carol Heyer and Scott Goto is one of our family's favorite picture books. My youngest daughter brought it home from the library at the age of four. We read it aloud together and laughed, and laughed, and laughed. Then my husband read it aloud, doing voices as only he can, and we laughed even harder. We checked the book out from the library ...

The Ultimate Book for Bike Geeks!
Frank Berto's 'The Dancing Chain' is a fascinating, exhaustively-researched look at the evolution of the bicycle. Starting with the high- wheeled bikes of Victorian times, the author shows how the development of the multi-geared drivetrain made the bicycle more versatile & practical for everyday use. Most interesting to me is that many modern "innovations" (indexed shifting, epicyclic hubs, ...

Book Review: A Ghost of Che
Most of us, it goes without saying, will never ride 5,000 miles in 40 days across South America on a motorcycle with meager belongings and little knowledge of Spanish. But we can relate to soul searching, which is why first-time author Mauktik Kulkarni embarked on this arduous (yet worthwhile) trek -- one marked by bone chilling stretches across mountainous terrain; occasional mechanical ...

A great book for understanding motorcycle dynamics if you have the background.
As an avid longtime motorcyclist and mechanical engineer, I have been looking for a book like this that clearly and concisely explains the dynamics of motorcycles for many years. When the first edition of this book appeared, the price was rather high. The second edition is much less expensive and I bought it as soon as I learned that it was available. It is exactly the book I have been looking ...

One of the best manuals for the Harley Twin Cam motor. Volume I: the Twin Cam was rather poorly written, but chock full of knowledge broken down into understandable pieces. I was a big fan of The Darwin Awards in an earlier, more misanthropic phase of my life. Nothing was funnier than some of the idiotic escapades of people who "do a service to humanity by removing themselves from the gene pool." Now, older and wiser, I'm more likely to wince in sympathy and look for a lesson to be learned. Author William Douglas Little's hugely entertaining MEXICAN BOWL ...
