My father Otto, now passed on, wrote this book in his last years. I am proud he left this book to remember him by. As a youth I went on many gold hunting trips with him and learned as I went along,

Please read. For everyone, Christian or not
Everyone especially Christians should read this book. Thomas Young was gifted an experience from God and he put it into a book. The book is a very easy read and I actually read it in a few days. The book is amazing. I highlighted like 25% of the book. The entire book is based on 8 verses but it goes into detail. It shows you the entire attribute of our Savior Jesus Christ and lets you know ...

" Must read" for parents of teens!
Finding the Path is a powerful parenting tool. It is different from other parenting books in that it conveys invaluable parenting lessons through an enjoyable and interesting story. The most valuable lesson for me was the impact that my actions have on my teen's behavior.I found the appendices to be a helpful summary of the lessons that were intertwined throughout the story. They alone were worth ...

A Good Take on Music of the Blue Ridge
I'll begin by saying I'm probably biased in favor of this book right from the start. (My name's in there!) I've known that this project was in the works for some time, although I didn't know what the outcome would be. I got my copy a few days ago and was thoroughly impressed. The book is broken down by regions, all of which follow the Blue Ridge Parkway through North Carolina and Virginia. ...

Wonderful Insight and Answers
I'm not sure how long I've had this book. I'm not even sure how it came to be in my possession. But it is the most meaningful book I have on the purposes of the temple and how to gain more from temple ordinances. Brother Wilcox has assembled a thorough collection of quotes and personal anecdotes that bring his points home in such an understandable and motivating way. Particularly interesting ...

A really practical guide to navigating in small boats
I have read or skimmed dozens of works on navigation. I have also navigated a variety of small boats along the coasts of Nova Scotia. None of the other books provided the degree of realistic and practical advice that this one does. It takes a pragmatic view that the typical small boat operator will use visual navigation where possible, backed up by judicious use of GPS/Loran and/or radar. In ...

A tour of the country, of our presidents and vice-presidents, and through Tucker's life
Carll Tucker was going through the kind of restlessness that many people feel in their 40s and 50s. During mine, I went and got an MBA from the University of Michigan. Tucker's approach was much less conventional. He decided to get a motor home and head out on the road for nine months visiting the graves of all the Presidents and Vice-Presidents. The Vice-Presidents is the especially cool ...

I want an Amanda Dickson doll to take around with me. I would put her in my shirt pocket. I would take her out and pull a string to hear her fresh, vibrant wisdom. Viewing any challenge from the right perspective makes the ordeal much easier, she provides some practical tips and guidance to help ...

Impressed!
I read all sorts of material from both secular and Christian authors, I rarely am impressed. Ben's book was the exception. His series of life stories puctuated with diverse "pearls of wisdom" made for a nice, clear read that was simple yet thought provoking. Who would have known it was written by an artist with dyslexia? Nice job.

Surviving Anywhere
This book will fit nice and neatly in any backpack. It's a must if your traveling through these areas listed in the book. It goes through what plants or parts of trees you can eat, how to cook them, in different nature settings (woods, tundra, seashore). It also teaches about poisonous plants and a chapter on how to find water then purify it. Very intesting and informational book.

Love is the bridge between Christianity and the New Age
I am one of the many people who meditates and prays for the reconciliation of Christianity and the proponents of the New Age. When I found 'Beauty and the Priest' by Patrick McNamara, I knew that there was real progress being made in this unfortunate schism. Reverend Patrick McNamara, a former Catholic priest simply seeks the Love of God, something he names Beauty, in every thing and every ...

Concise and fascinating
This is an interesting, concise account of the 1999 discovery of George Mallory, possibly the first to climb Mt. Everest. In 1924 Everest veteran Mallory and his promising junior partner Andrew Irvine famously disappeared some 1000 feet below the summit. Did they reach it before they perished, 29 years before Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay? In 1999, Conrad Anker of the Mallory and Irvine ...
