Jonathan Larson

HarperEntertainment, 1997

A MUST HAVE TO REMEMBER RENT
I have been so fortunate to have known this show for twelve years. Now that it has ended, I will have my memories of seeing the show as well as this amazing book. I own two copies of the book and have read it front to back. Thank you Jonathan Larson and thank you to all that have made this show the great piece of musical theatre that it is. I will miss the show, but this book will stay with me ...

Without You: A Memoir of Love, Loss And the Musical Rent Libray Edition (Library Edition)75 reviews

Blackstone Audiobooks, 2006

surprised me
There are things that I didn't expect, that surprised me a little bit about his character, but if anything, seeing Anthony come through all of these situations only upped my respect for him as an actor, as a writer, and as a person.

Beatles Gear: All the Fab Four's Instruments, from Stage to Studio56 reviews
Andy Babiuk

Backbeat Books, 2002

Sweetly Vintage
Being a kind of technical guru myself, I really appreciate a book that is about equipment...especially vintage. Babiuk has created a book here that is both very precise and entertaining at the same time. It is a wealth of information and great pictures that anyone with an interest in vintage musical equipment can enjoy. If you like old musical instruments, especially of the 60's variety, ...

Philadelphia Chickens142 reviews
Sandra Boynton

Workman Publishing Company, 2002

Very Entertaining with Wide Age Appeal
I bought this book and CD for entertainment on our summer road trips and it has quickly become a favorite of all 3 of my children (ages 14 months, 5 and 8). The tunes are toe-tapping and fun to listen and sing to. The lyrics are funny and easily understood so that kids can learn the songs. I highly recommend the book and CD -- makes a great gift for new big brothers and sisters when a baby is ...

The Wheels on the Bus (Pop-up Books)71 reviews

Orchard Books, 1990

Excellent pop-up book version of the song
We first saw this book in a kindermusik class this previous winter, and my two-year-old son seemed to enjoy when it was read aloud. We decided to order the book to help our son get into the habit of bedtime stories. Now this is his number one favorite book to have read at bedtime. Our son loves being able to interact with the lyrics as we sing. The book is very durable and has held up well to a ...

The Count of Monte Cristo388 reviews
Alexandre Dumas

Naxos Audiobooks, 1995

Great copy of unabridged Count of Monte Cristo
We only recently found out that all our copies of The Count of Monte Cristo were abridged. We checked this out of our local library and liked it so much we bought a copy for our home library. The type setting is very readable and best of all, it's not abridged. The story is a classic and a great read. I recommend it for everyone.

U2 by U292 reviews
U2, Neil Mccormick

Harper Paperbacks, 2007

U2 should be by U2
As a certified U2-phile, it was pre-ordained that I would own and read this book as I have done with much of the other biographical work in book and magazine form. This tops the lot. Repeatedly asking any person to share the details of their lives can result in tedium for the subject, the asker, and the reader. In fact, I have for the most part given up reading more than one interview from ...

Bear Snores On95 reviews
Karma Wilson

Simon & Schuster Childrens Books, 2005

Destined to be a Classic
What a heartwarming story with such vivid and friendly illustrations. The rhythm is wonderful and the rhymes aren't forced. The story flows and gives the reader ample opportunity to try out different voices for all of bear's friends.

The Pianist: The Extraordinary Story of One Man's Survival in Warsaw, 1939-45102 reviews
Wladyslaw Szpilman

Phoenix (an Imprint of The Orion Publishing Group Ltd ), 2002

FINALLY: TRUTH & OBJECTIVITY ON THE HOLOCAUST FOR POLES AND JEWS. GOOD POLES,JEWS,GERMANS,AS WELL AS, BAD - PERIOD!!!
Polish filmaker Roman Polanski who was born and raised in Poland by Catholic parents, was there to see what it was really like, unlike many others who were never there, but make ignorent anti-Polish judgements. It's funny how those who were actually there, like Wladislaw, tell a completely different story that the Hollywood/Media tells. Wladyslaw told the truth. Read the book, and see the movie. ...

The Backstreet Boys: Official Biography53 reviews
Rob McGibbon

Boxtree, Limited, 1997

The one to get
I've read about 18 or so books on this group. And of all of them, if you're going to get one, get this one. It has good details of the boys' life before the group, and area which other books tend to lack in. It has pictures of them when they were kids that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. And it has info on the person who started the group, another thing I find hard to get good info ...

Wicked - Piano/Vocal Arrangement41 reviews
Stephen Schwartz

Hal Leonard, 2004

complete songbook, intermediate arrangements
This was a complete compilation of WICKED songs. The arrangements are for intermediate pianists. The melody line is simple and easy to follow. Good quality paper used and photos make it extra fun. I wish it was spiral-bound.

Pro Tools for Musicians and Songwriters46 reviews
Gina Fant-Saez

Peachpit Press, 2006

Awesome!
There is so much to ProTools, Gina puts it into perspective! Her writing style is outstanding, and if you are like me who thinks the technical instructions and white papers seem to require a degree, this book is for you! I am currently on Chapter 5 and in one week, I have surpassed what I learned on my own with the "manual". Her additional downloads and assistance goes above and beyond! As ...

You're My Little Love Bug (Parent Love Letters)48 reviews
Heidi R. Weimer

Candy Cane Press, 2005

Cute book
I bought this book for my 2 granddaughters (ages 4 and 2) in Georgia. When I moved to Texas I bought a 2nd one to have at my house to read to them over the phone. My 4-year-old granddaughter memorized the whole book and insisted on "reading" it to me. They also like the pocket on the inside back cover in which I put a picture of them.

Julia Donaldson

Macmillan Audio Books, 2002

Best Halloween Book Ever
My 2.5 year old daughter and I love this book! Although we skip the page with the dragon, the illustrations, rhyming and story make it fun! My daughter loves the animals and loves to quote the book. Great reading for all ages.
