a must have for the cat lover who needlepoints
Julie Hasler has captured the heart of the cat lover. When I look at needlepoint books the first thing I look for is a design of a cat, and to think here is a book with no cutesy cats. Each design reminds one of some cat one has known. The only problem is deciding which to make first. Keep doing more books, Julie Hasler!

Careful - same as hardcover of same name, diff cover
This is a wonderful book, but be careful. It is the same book as the hardcover that Amazon is listing as a great book to get WITH this one. They have the same title, but the cover changed with the paperback.

Not your grandmother's needlepoint
This book brings the beauty of the various international fabrics to your needlepoint canvas. It's not your grandmother's needlepoint - no cats or flowers, just bold and exciting designs with great color graphs and ideas. I highly recommend this book - I even ordered a copy for my sister although it was out-of-print.

Great flower and animal designs!
I really like this book-- the charts are easy to read, the color combinations work well, and the subjects are charming. I especially like the chicken and the rabbit, but all of the designs are on my to do list.

glorious patterns
I don't do needlepoint but used one of the Persian rug charts for a bead knit bag. The charts are big, no small projects here, but they are striking and wonderfully detailed. Really striking color photos.

My copy has gone soft from use!
I own both the first and second editions of this book. Of all the beautiful needlepoint books in my collection, this is the one I go back to over and over. There is information for the beginner as well as advanced stitcher. In eighteen years, I've never picked it up that it didn't learn something new or valuable.

this book is loaded with ideas for everyone you know.
I found this book to a definite value for the money spent. It has patterns for even the hardest person to make for. The patterns were differant, and beautiful. It was well made and packed with content. I wish I had all the series to go with this one. Other books I enjoyed to go with this one was Looney tunes in plastic canvas book 7.

My favorite needlepoint book
I love this book! I have about 19 needlepoint books, but this is the one I go back to again and again. For those of you who have only worked with kits and lusted after the VERY EXPENSIVE Elizabeth Bradley kits, this is the way to go. If you are a cross-stitcher, the added plus is that Bradley advocates a cross-stitch because it makes the cushions more durable, it doesn't distort the canvas, ...

Great primer that explains materials, methods & stitches.
I found the book to be excellent in the amount of information given and the format. The black and white pictures sometimes failed to show those who are just learning the art a detailed view of the stitch. This would make a great bible of needlepoint for those who want to expand their craft beyond the basketweave and continental stitches. It is a tremendous reference tool for beginners as ...

This book is a "must have" for your stitchery library. If you want to try something new, these 3-D houses are adorable! I plan on using ALL of the patterns. It has inspired me to design a few of my own. I am going to design a Christmas village for my Christmas tree this year and use metallic threads.

Colorful patterns, inspiring and very readable!
WOW - what a wonderful needlework book - I love everything about it. One of the neatest things about this book is it's not just oriented to one type of stitching - there are patterns for cross stitch as well as instructions for using decorative needlepoint stitches as an option. The projects are all beautifully presented with color charts. Those of you that like traditional and historical ...
