Worth the money
I love this collection, however it is not digitally remastered so there are a few shows that are really hard to listen to because there is a lot of static and background noise, but I think it is still worth it.

Life was never perfect in any era
The tendency of people to look back on their past and see only the good and not the bad is all too evident in the agendas of conservatives and so-called advocates of so-called traditional families. Those of us who lived through the perfect era when dads worked, moms vaccuumed in pearls and kids have perfect lives behind white picket fences remember it far differently. We remember when ...

On The Homesickness Of Modern Man
"How to begin again? How to be happy, to invent ourselves, shedding the inertia of the past? How to experience life & life alone, "that dark, driving, insatiable power that lusts after itself?" These were the questions that bothered the moderns. Happiness, and not merely a longing for it, meant forgetfulness & a new perception of time." "The modern opposition between tradition & revolution ...

Old Time Radio Broadcasts
We do a lot of traveling and trying to keep your car radio on a station is not easy. However we have become addicted to the Old Time Radio Broadcasts. We have listened to broadcast going back to the 20's, 30's, 40's, and 50's. These CD's are so interesting and entertaining. To be able to listen to Burns and Allen, Jack Benny, and Abbot & Costello is great. Not to overlook the mystery series, ...

Meeting Pat Savage and Old Dan Thunden
What a wonderful combination! These two novels are some of the best or most important in the Doc Savage canon. In Werewolf we meet the beautiful, young, impetuous cousin of Doc, Patricia Savage. She would become the most famous recurring character in the series outside of the tightly-bound Band of Iron. You get an instant sense why in her first adventure, when she refuses to stay out of ...

These radio programs take you back to when you were a kid listening to the only entertainment available to us. I thoroughly enjoyed them and the younger kids thought they were in awe of them. Recommend highly.

Good collection
These are primarily the mid-1940s episodes of the Amos and Andy radio show. At this point, the show was a close cousin to the later TV version of the 1950s (fans of the TV version will notice a number of original radio versions of some episodes). Along with Gosden and Correll as A&A, a good supporting crew such as Lou Lubin as Shorty the Stuttering Barber, Jester Hairston as henry von Porter, ...

Two of the Best
These new Doc Savage and Shadow volumes get better and better with each issue. Not only are the two novels amongst the best in the series but cover reproduction of the original pulps is excellent and the bonus articles and material are worth the price alone. Highly recommend these to those who are long time Doc fans and those who have never had the pleasure of following the Man of Bronze on his ...

Still two Great Tales
Hard to believe these were written so long ago. This book contains the first two Doc Savage stories, so you learn his "origin" and get to see him in quite a bit of action. Some people don't like the two column newsprint format, but it didn't bother me (the print was large enough to read comfortably). You can see a lot of Doc Savage in Remo Williams. If you're a fan of The Destroyer series, you ...

Classic Tales from an Earlier Age
Too a large degree, the Doc Savage stories are an acquired taste. I was introduced during my tour in Iraq, when some blessed soul had sent, in a care package of books, several Doc Savage novels to my FOB. I recognized the name from my interest in pulps, and snagged them to read. They're most assuredly something from an earlier age--jazz era racism and cultural attitudes jar with modern ...

One of Doc's best
The Majii is one of the all time best Doc Savage adventures and a great jump on point for new readers. Though the pulp cover pales in comparison to the magnificent Bama paperback version the added historical articles make up for it and the restoration is top notch from Mike Piper. The second offering, The Golden Man, contains extra material deleted from the original pulp and paperback versions. ...

Reid reveals a wealth of life lessons
Sunday Morning Memories is a collection of reminences by Don Reid of growing up attending church services and church-sponsored events in his community. In looking back down the years, Reid reveals a wealth of life lessons learned from and shared with family and friends.
