Excellent Sequel to Odd Thomas
Great book. A definite must read and a great follow up to Odd Thomas. The book was hard to put down as I needed to know what happened.

IN ODD WE TRUST is not the best introduction to the characters of Pico Mundo
Dean Koontz's thoroughly enjoyable and readable Odd Thomas series gets the graphic novel treatment in the paperback IN ODD WE TRUST. The series has been a bestseller for Koontz for years, and here he fills in some of the missing details of Odd's life. IN ODD WE TRUST is a prequel, an original story that begins before the first book in the series. The premise of Odd's life is that he sees dead ...

The book that brought me back to Mr. Koontz...
A wonderful new young character with quirks, a witty r'epertoire and of course...special powers. The banter alone is a reason to buy these books. (or audio, my favorite) A conscientious and humble hero that appeals to my own sense of justice, love and honor. I could say more but you really need to get to the Amazon site and get UPS rolling with this puppy! Time's a wastin'!

Its Funny
I read this book in my second grade class. This is a funny book. Even Steven likes everything even. Odd Todd likes everything odd. For example, Even Steven would like 8 pancakes and Odd Todd would like 7 pancakes. Even Steven goes through hard work with Odd Todd. Then, Even Steven notices that odd and even are both good. My favorite part was when Odd Todd and Even Steven win their $50 ...

MUCH better than the second in the series
I, along with everyone and their brother, loved Odd Thomas. The first book was spectacular and worthy of beginning a whole new character/series. Unfortunately the second book was forced and if it had been a stand-alone book would never have made it to market. This book compensates for the second book by giving us a reason for keeping Odd Thomas around. It is very entertaining, and though ...

Helpful conversation starter
This book was recomended by my 6th grader's school counselor after she started making some questionable friend choices. We moved to a new area about a year ago and my two middle school daughters went from a very conservative charter school to a tight knit small town public school. My youger (6th grader) daughter has had a more difficult time adjusting and this helped a lot. My older daughter ...

must read for youth workers and parents
i'm not sure how i missed this book. it was published in 2002, and is absolute must reading for EVERY youth worker (male or female) and every parent of a girl. it's a tough read and an easy read. easy, because simmons is an excellent writer and fills the book with real stories of real girls. tough, because the real girls she profiles reveal a profile of aggression (almost universally ...

Awesome for all ages when trying to show how important punctuation and inflection are to meaning. I've used it with young elementary students and college students, too....ageless message!

Odd boy out is one great book!
Odd boy out is a wonderful book with nice illustraions of the life of Albert Einstein. Albert was born a fat baby with a big head. He had a bad temper and was condsidered very odd. He didn't like to play sports, and he was disturbed with the things other boys liked. Einstein grows and soon becomes what we know as the famous scientist Einstein.

The war with the Modhri continues to evolve
There is some truth to the complaints from other reviewers that there is a lot of backstory thrown into this one. To some degree, this is necessary as the nature of the conflict between the Modhri and Compton's employers changes in this story. Harriet's review says nothing of the Modhri's fear/anger over what it calls "The abomination". That fear leads the Modhri to try to persuade Compton to ...

This book WILL improve your game...
Unless you're a math genius or your name is Chris Ferguson, you need this book. Top-to-bottom odds and probabilities for limit and no-limit hold'em. Loaded with charts and explanations. I purchased this book after seeing the charts in the back of the book ... unlike any I've seen elsewhere. You can't go wrong with this book ... it's one of my top favorites.

bold, heavy and beautiful
Ok, so now there are two great huge books on Nerdrum. One by Richard Vine and now this one. If you are a Nerdrum freak you might as well buy both, but if you have to choose one, here's the facts. The 'Themes' book has more paintings than Vine's book as there are about 100 pages more in it. And though both books have good close ups, 'Themes' has more and better details for those artist who wish to ...

One Night Stands...
Wonderful book. Second I have read from Shenkman and I am off to order more. There are few books that when the end comes, you have a deep feeling of regret. I hated to see the book end. It treats history in an interesting manner and provides stories that are often left out in the dry classes that worry about covering a survey course and not the interesting tidbit of social history which add ...

The Odds leaves a bitter taste; wiser but sadder
After tracing the history of sports wagering, and examining the sports wagerer, this book leaves the reader bewildered, disgusted and bereft of the innocence once had when first encountering sports and athletic events. The gambler is exposed as socio-pathic and lost, but worst of all, aware of their own situation. Unlike narcotic addictions, there is little escape or euphoria, but instead self ...

WHAT A WONDERFUL LITTLE BOOK.
I liked this one from the first page on. Now I have to admit to being a bit predjudicial here, as the little girl in this story could quite well have been my wife years and years ago when I knew her as a little girl. We have been married 44 years now, and she has not changed much...thank goodness. That being said, this is a wonderful little book to read with those special children (who ...

Definitely odd and definitely fishy - and lots of fun!
I read this book and gave it to my 10-year-old daughter to read (I am 40). We both loved it! Kennedy unveils a unique sense of humor through an uncanny plot filled with even more uncanny characters. Definitely unlike any story I've ever read. It was a lot of fun!
