Historical Fiction at it's best
Dragonfly in Amber and it's predecessor, Outlander, succeed because Diana Gabaldon really does her research in regards to the historical accuracy. She lists all of her sources in the book and thanks various historians for advising her. You believe you are in the time period because she is very much aware of what is going on in France at the time. The romance aspect is timeless and the characters ...

Used Books like new
I was a bit worried about ordering a used book online since opinions tend to be subjective. However, this book was in perfect condition. And I was amazed at how quickly it shipped. I received it 2 days after I placed my order. I have more books that I wish to purchase and now I don't have to pay top dollar or use my car to shop around to find exactly what I want. I am thrilled.
The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel

Diana Gabaldon?s brilliant storytelling has captivated millions of readers in her bestselling and award-winning Outlander saga. Now, in her first-ever graphic novel, Gabaldon gives readers a fresh look at the events of the original Outlander: Jamie Fraser?s side of the story, gorgeously rendered by artist Hoang Nguyen. After too long an absence, Jamie Fraser is coming home to Scotland?but not without great trepidation. Though his beloved ...

A Breath of Snow and Ashes
This is the further adventures of Jamie and Claire and their families. Diana Gabaldon's attention to the details of life in Colonial America is amazing. The story unfolds just like watching a movie.

Jamie & Claire NEVER Boring!
Jamie & Claire can never be boring to me! Maybe I'm weird, but I love to see them happy - and they are NEVER BORING to me! I agree with another reviewer - their lives are always in such turmoil - it's refreshing to see them halfway stable for a while - and the relationship between Brianna and Roger grow. Diana's characters resonate with me on a very visceral level. I have read and re-read all 7 ...

The Outlander
Reminded me of Lonesome Dove in a 'saga' kind of way! The last line, in The Outlander - "Find me" was a bit puzzling as to why Ms. Adamson opted to end that way - Maybe her lover will keep looking, and we'll have a sequel!

This book changed my life
I mean it. Changed my life. I've always loved reading, since I was a little girl, but this book made me look at books in a whole new way. And not just this book alone -- the whole Outlander series. Yes, some books within the series are better than others, but overall it is an amazing tour-de-force that Ms. Gabaldon has given us. She is truly a gifted storyteller. And can I just say, an ...

In Outlander, a 600-page time-travel romance, strong-willed and sensual Claire Randall leads a double life with a husband in one century, and a lover in another. Torn between fidelity and desire, she struggles to understand the pure intent of her heart. But don't let the number of pages and the Scottish dialect scare you. It's one of the fastest reads you'll have in your library. While on her second honeymoon in the British Isles, Claire ...

Best yet
After a slow set-up, things really kick in to gear once the true nature of the mysterious artifact is revealed. The 'villains' of the piece wouldn't be out of place in an episode of Dr Who and are as menacing as they come, there's also some nice dialogue exchanges - SPOILER ALERT - after Flag is revived he is surprised by Brigid swearing - something which I've always found unecessary in the ...

In The Library
Here is an unusual new novel by Janet Elaine Smith. The beheading of a king, four love stories, the hiding of the precious crown jewels, a bouncy and charming little red-headed girl--all these should be enough of a mix for a historical novel, especially when it is based on the lore of a family we know. "Dunnottar" the title of this book, is actually the name of the ancient castle, the home ...

Interesting
Bought this for a change of pace and though it took me a while to get into the 'chick lit' concept, I actually enjoyed the historical ideas of this book.

Much better than Children of Amarid
I agree with much of what not4prophet writes about this book, particularly with regard to the action scenes, dialogue, and quicker pace. I also agree with his criticisms about the frank dumbness of folks in the Order. Coe could certainly have constructed a more plausible scenario / description of turmoil within the Order. However I give this book 5 stars because it is head and shoulders above ...

I love this author
What can I say about this series of books? Outlander is the first in the series and may be my fav., its hard to say they are all so good, I have bought all of them and read them over and over. I never get bored with them! The storyline is interesting and the characters really live in your imagination, I can't recommend it highly enough!
