Good recipes, Good stories
The stories are a bit uneven, but that's because they are all written by different people. It's hard to put this recipe book down while reading the stories! Recommended for people with old-fashioned values.

The Best -- Bar none!!
I have had this cookbook for many years. I first purchased it back in 1977, and it is without a doubt the best in authentic Cajun cooking. My original Pirate's Pantry finally fell apart from many years of use; but, although I recently replaced it, I still have my old original stuffed into a manila envelope. I love this cookbook!!!

Super- a busy mother's secret.
This book is excellent. It provides easy to follow recipes using canned ingredients that turn out great. The recipes require simple easy to find ingredients. It saves time cooking and yet the meals are delicious and full of nutrients. There is not one meal I have cooked out of here that my kids have not enjoyed or my husband not liked. I have actually put together a box of meals on the go- ...

The Best Cook Book in My Kitchen
I love this cook book! It's just full of recipes for that wonderful Amish food, and the thing I really love about it is that for the most part, the ingredients are items you probably already have in your kitchen, as opposed to some of the "coffee table" cookbooks you have to travel to France in order to get the ingredients they call for. I wouldn't be without this one, and I've just finished ...

Great Read!
My daughter is not an avid reader as she struggles some at a 2nd grade level and finds it rather "boring" to read - HOWEVER - this book caught her attention and she read it cover to cover! Excellent for me to see and for her to feel the accomplishment and reward of good lessons in a fun book! I wish Patsy Clairmont had many more children's books for my daughter to read!

A reprint of this is a MUST!
If I could have one cookbook back after our house burned down, this would be it. The Melon Moons recipe was our all time favorite pickle. We used most of the cherry recipes to preserve the abundance from our trees. The unique and exquisite recipes and precise directions make this the best book on canning, preserving, as well as endless other condiments, pate`s and wonderful things for the ...

This book cooks!
Hey, I'm a GUY and I thought this book was hilarious! And very true-to-life as well, believe me (I've been married 19 years!). Guys, buy this as a gift and give it to your wife next time she's having PMS and needs a laugh. You'll both find a lot to laugh about in this book. (And anyway, the authors are both cute!)

Informed and informative reading
"The Pantry: Its History And Modern Uses" by author, architectural historian, and former house museum manager Catherine Seiberling Pond is a beautifully illustrated history of how the nature of the 19th century pantry began to change and evolve in the 20th and 21st centuries as American homemakers began to cook more, bake more, buy more, and stockpile more just as architects were designing and ...
Build Your Own Air Conditioner or Dehumidifier. Increase the Cooling Effect of Your Fan.

H & S Pantry, 2007
Does help, lot of information.
I got this when I was having trouble with my Air Conditioner and I wanted to cool my den a little to make it more comfortable in the late afternoon. I have a fairly large freezer and so freezing the aluminum cans and plastic bottles as described was no problem and using them with my small turbo fan did work a lot better than just using the fan alone. I usually get about a cup full of water in the ...

you need this book
Marlena Spieler is simply the BEST! Her recipes work, they're fully seasoned and colorful. I love her stuff. She writes columns in the SF Chronicle that are always a great read - as colorful as her recipes are and as colorful as SHE is! She's one of those fabulous, lively, energetic people who is way way OUT THERE. I recommend all her books -- and I'm a cooking/food professional so take it from ...

Great book
This is a wonderful, fantastic book. It explains everything in plain English, and gives insightful information on ingredients, equipment, and techniques. The author states that everyone can make a dessert as good as the best in the world. The book actually makes me feel as though I can. I found it very inspiring. My baking has improved since reading it. But beware - after you read this ...

What an amazing book. This is a taste of true tradition that isn't seen, or savored, any more. If you want beautiful images and recipes of jams, jellies and preserves, do drop in. Bring your children and teach them how lovely it can be to spend the day in the kitchen with Aunt Freddie's wonderful recipes. C'est si bon. I sure miss her and love her. A fan.

Passion is sin....Love is the Devil...
This was a wonderful story that I thoroughly enjoyed. It saddened me that the fairy tale had to end. Brage was a magnificient character. He was fierce as he was gentle and strong as he was sweet. I also loved Dynna's character. She was innocent (in perspective) and very generous as she was beautiful. I've read the book now 18 times (after today) and recommend it to everyone. Although there was ...

Outstanding! TNT recipes from across the country
Although I have over 2,000 cookbooks, this is one of my top favorites. It contains recipes from customers all over the country -- and almost all are preceded by descriptions of why their family loves them, how many people beg for them, etc. Many also include directions for packaging as gifts. The book also contains cute illustrations, many of which provide great ideas for decorating one's own ...
