A MUST HAVE For Anyone Serious In Understanding Herbal Medicine
In my interest in learning and understanding the medicinal qualities and uses of herbs for my own personal use (and without any formal medical training), I've purchased many books on 'herbal medicine' and 'homeopathic medicines/remedies'. While there are some good books out there, there is NOTHING I've come across that is as complete as this reference book (4th Edition, 2007). Some of the ...

A Great Book
PDR Drug Guide for Mental Health Professionals This is a smaller version of the Physician PDR specifically for Mental Health practicianers. It is up to date, easy to use and is the first source I use regarding medication. I order one every year...every year more psychotrophic medications become available.

Very pleasantly surprised the PDR was a hard cover. I had ordered a used one which was soft cover. Hard cover makes a big difference. Would recommend specifying that detail in description.

Ultra fast shipping, and a great price!
I bought this for a retired Dr, who is a family member, who really wanted this. At the time I ordered, 12/09 Amazon mentioned there might be a delay in shipping. To my delight, the book came two days later, well before the holiday. I (think) PDR's are sent to active Dr's free, and financed by the drug firms - the family member in question really missed his copy, and it was nice to be able to ...

No Caregiver Should Be Without This Book!
I wrote the review that follows in 2004 for the Sixth Edition. Since that time, many new prescription drugs have been added to the physician's arsenal, so I bought the eighth edition to keep up with changing drugs. In my opinion, it's even better than the book I bought five years ago. Here are two benefits that make this book so valuable: 1. I can see what the actual pill should look ...

This book is the only authoritative bible on the subject of nutritional supplements and could only have been written by Sheldon Hendler, Ph.D, M.D., whose knowledge is unparalled in this field. One of the biggest problems encountered in approaching different medical strategies is sorting out the claims of the various schools. This volume presents a clear and well worded guide to a wide variety of medical issues, comparing the different available techniques. It is not perfect. In a volume of this size, judgemental claims are made, and one can disagree with the judgement made. Claims ...
