Something Coming: a New Age Thriller (Volume 1)
Suspended my disbelief
I know a good book by how it takes me somewhere I've never been, into a fresh scenario with interesting characters. Really good books pull me out of my comfort zone - sometimes to read new genres, other times to discover new ideas or possibilities - and suspends disbelief. Something Coming hooked me early by going somewhere I've never been, to a fantastic mountaintop monument site in Turkey, Mt. ...
Reflections of a Peacemaker: A Portrait Through Heartsongs
Mattie J.T. Stepanek
Andrews McMeel Publishing
Angel Among Us.
Mattie's writings have touched my spirit like no other. His wisdom beyond his years and how his books make us look at life, especially our own, in a different light, has to be from God, therefore, making Mattie an "Angel Among Us" in my book.
B-36: Saving the Last Peacemaker
ProWeb Fort Worth
At last, living photos of the B-36
The Convair B-36 is one of those engineering marvels which one suspects is unknown and disregarded by most Americans. Yet, in its day, this was regarded as America's "Big Stick" and was very well known to all in the land (not to mention many in charge over in the Soviet Union.) Happily there are four of these machines still in existence under roofs in aviation museums. However, the very last B-36 ...
Nicholas and Helena Roerich, Revised Edition: The Spiritual Journey of Two Great Artists and Peacemakers
Ruth A. Drayer
Next I'd like a movie made from this book
I'm so glad a friend told me about this book. I love the paintings - so clear and fresh; simplicity with depth of meaning. It is gratifying that the author was able to compile such a detailed record of the Roerich's life, work and travels. I enjoyed traveling in my imagination by way of the diary entries - and to places I would NOT want to endure physically - 17,000 foot mountains, for ...
Great Peacemakers: True Stories from Around the World
Adopted it for my Peace & War seminar
I just received my examination copy, and ate it up. What a perfect book this is for my college seminar class. It is already on my "required reading" list. With so much attention today placed on TV personalities, it is good to be able to help students see and discuss other, real ways of being in the world. Thank you Ken Beller and Heather Chase. If you are ever in Vermont, please consider this ...
The Future of Peace: On the Front Lines with the World's Great Peacemakers
Scott A. Hunt
A HUNDRED STAR RATING
The "Future of Peace" is perhaps the most compelling book I have ever read. I was very deeply moved by it. Scott A. Hunt is an outstanding writer and interviewer. He asks insightful questions of prominent peacemakers and receives soul searching, thought provoking answers, with overall themes of hope, forgiveness and perseverance. The interviews are more like informal discussions and I almost ...
The Wandering Peacemaker
Hampton Roads Publishing Company
The Wandering Peacemaker
Roger Plunk began a lifetime of wandering as a child. He did stay put long enough as a young man to earn two law degrees, then he began working for the U.S. State Department. He learned that his calling was to be a mediator and that he had the ability and desire to work for peace one-on-one with world leaders. The Dalai Lama was the first to utilize Plunk's special talents. In The Wandering ...
Colt Single Action: From Patersons to Peacemakers
Book Sales, Inc.
Believe it or not...I bought this for my 13 year old niece's birthday! She's in the Single Action Shooters and LOVES THIS BOOK! Beautiful pictures along with lots of history and facts.
Doctor Who: Peacemaker
Random House UK
I really liked this book, it is a good old fashion western and Martha and the Doctor seem exactly like they are in the television series minus the Doctor's hysteria and sometimes hot and cold feelings towards Martha which made him look like a lunatic. It's a great read for Doctor Who fans.
Chief Loco: Apache Peacemaker (Civilization of the American Indian)
University of Oklahoma Press
An engrossing survey key to understanding Apache history
CHIEF LOCO: APACHE PEACEMAKER is a fine biography recommended highly for any college-level Native American studies collection. It provides a biography of an important but overlooked chief and details the Apache wars and the tribe's experience, using Loco's long leadership as a foundation point for considering how he handled tragic developments and threats to his people. His quest for peace and ...
Chipeta: Ute Peacemaker (Now You Know Bio)

Linus Pauling, Scientist and Peacemaker
Oregon State University
A Commemoration to a Man, Scientist, and Peace Worker
+++++ This is a centenary biography that commemorates the hundredth birthday of Dr. Linus Carl Pauling (February 1901 to August 1994). He was the only person to win two unshared Nobel Prizes. This book has a number of good features: (1) THE EDITORS' HONESTY. This slim book, as the editors state in the preface, does not do "complete justice to Linus Pauling's enormous life work" ...
Peacemaker Kurogane Volume 4
Went the way of "Tactics", the anime
I preordered vol. 4 of Peacemaker Kurogane about 6 months ago, still haven't got it (and received no delay notification from Amazon either). So I agree with the reviewer above that ADV most probably dropped the series halfway. Ah well, the tragedy in Peacemaker Kurogane doesn't hit as hard when you haven't read the previous series and learned to love the characters.
Cold War Peacemaker: The Story of Cowtown and the Convair B-36
Dennis R. Jenkins
Specialty Pr Pub & Wholesalers
Magnesium Overcast Redux
What, another book about the B-36? It's not exactly aviation's best-known subject--not like the North American P-51 Mustang or the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, for example--but Convair's huge intercontinental-range strategic bomber has gotten its fair share of press in the last decade or so. There's Meyers K. Jacobsen's superb 400-page magnum opus "Convair B-36: A Comprehensive History of Americas ...
B-36 Peacemaker in action - Aircraft No. 42
Meyers K. Jacobsen
An absolute must for anyone who remembers the B-36 aircraft
My name is Michael L. Oaks, of Grants Pass, Oregon. If you were ever associated in any way, with the B-36 aircraft as I was, this book is a "must have" for your library. It tells the story of the greatest "Cold War" aircraft made. It covers all of the various models of the B-36 to even the variations developed from it such as the C-199 Cargo type etc. The book is in 8 1/2x 11 landscape, ...
Cursed is the Peacemaker: The American Diplomat Versus the Israeli General, Beirut 1982
Reagan's Special Envoy: Blueprint for Middle East Peace
Here is a true and engaging story that goes to the heart of a bloody feud unresolved since 1947. "Cursed is the Peacemaker" is the go-to book for the historical drama of what it took to negotiate that brief shining moment when there was-- as close as it gets-- to a cease-fire between Israelis vs. Palestinians and others in the Arab world. Author John Boykin (a former editor at Stanford ...
Roots of Peace, Seeds of Hope: A Journey for Peacemakers
maggie steincrohn davis
Healing and Peace
"We will choose wisely where we are going, only when we know where we have been." --Maggie Davis Maggie believes when she studied history at school, the beautiful story of how the Native people gave to our country was never told. The story of how they gave up so much of their life was also never told to her. "Most often, history is written by the takers in the world, not by those who ...
