CLassroom Management in Photographs
This is a GREAT resource. I implemented a few of the ideas. It is just so helpful to see the ideas in action. I'm hoping a book like this comes out with ideas specified for certain grade levels. Great book. Must buy!!

Why Do Peoples Photograph?
Comprehensible texts that talk about the `whys' of a subject are hard to come by. Often times those books are overly analytical and specific and can be a challenge to read, let alone get through. Fortunately Robert Adams holds an appreciation for simplification and utilizes this trait in his writing. "Why People Photograph" is a collection of essays in about photography. Adams focuses on ...

Exquisite prose...
This is a book you will either love or hate. I did both. The beginning was so painfully slow that I was often tempted to put it down. And, if I hadn't read Moon Tiger first (a truly brilliant novel), I might have simply given up. But, somewhere around the fourth chapter, the characters pulled me in. The Photograph is, first and foremost, a character study. The protagonist, a beautiful, ...

Go a little deeper in Exposure....and enjoy the author's evident Love for image making.
So, you know you use a larger aperture for a shorter depth of field. And you know large apertures have small numbers. But would you like to know why that is? Do you already know? If, indeed, you know these basic principles but not 'why' they exist, then you remind me of me, and I think you'll like this book. The photos are great, the book dimensions show them off well, and the descriptions ...

Taught Me To See!
I bought this wonderful book with my Christmas or birthday money over thirty years ago, when I was a teenager first interested in the art of photography. I spent hours looking at the photos and reading the text. I learned so much, not about the "how to" of photography, but about what makes a great photo.

For the visual learner!
This book helped me start teaching first grade after teaching the intermediate grades for many years. It gives suggestions for management and for teaching. I have re-read this book over and over. Each time, I find something new because I am becoming more and more comfortable with my new grade level. This is a wonderful book for new teachers or grade-level changing teachers.

LOVED IT
This book was the book I used to rearrange and set up my classroom. As a fairly new teacher I read the book and mixed her ideas and mine to create my classroom. I am so happy I purchased this book. I am even planning to purchase another book becuase my colleagues take the book from me all the time.
The Pleasures of Good Photographs (Aperture Ideas)

"If looking at photographs is a pleasurable activity, it is pleasurable in a complex, transformative, frequently unsettling sense. It is not pleasure unalloyed, for no profound pleasure is pure... Like many truly enriching pleasures... photography has its dark, troubling, even dangerous aspects." -Gerry Badger The Pleasures of Good Photographs is an intellectual and aesthetic excursion led by Gerry Badger, one of the field's eminent critics ...

How a picture is worth a thousand words.
As a person interested in the history of photography as well as a serious photographer, I've found this book to be a great help in getting the most out of a photograph. Unlike the snap judgments of a photo club, the book explains a logical sequence of steps to understanding. I found it especially helpful in reviewing photographs which are hard to appreciate for aesthetic reasons. Highly ...

Go behind the scenes with a master
I found this book very revealing and compelling, not to mention inspiring. You get to go on a journey with a master of photography and learn about how he approached each of these 40 classic Images, as he discusses in detail what the day and shooting conditions were like, what equipment he used and why, how he framed the pictures and why, and lots of other interesting things that come to his mind. ...

My favorite photo technique book
Over the years I have purchased many photo books by such authors as Sammon, Freeman, Kelby and Dunn but this is my favorite. It is just the right blend of simplicity and right on target information about almost everything. Although it seems to be point and shoot it is easily adaptable to my use of my Pentax K-x DSLR. It cuts through the clutter and goes right to the subject with clarity. ...

Birthday Surprise
I purchased this book for my daughter's 14th birthday. She loves to draw and is quite talented. I gave "Drawing Realistic Pets from Photographs" to her for her birthday and she loved it. She sat right down and sketched the cat. She said when she opened it "Awesome". This book shows the picture of the animal and then how to pencil/charcoal draw the picture by hand. I would highly recommend ...

Very Educational and Inspiring
Drawing and painting for many years, I thought I had average portrait skills until I purchased this book. Wow, what talent, Lee's skills are amazing; I was certainly humbled. I have read about 75% of the book so far, but without doing any of the exercised, yet. I purchased the recommended materials and completed my first portrait using her technique. What a difference! I highly recommend Lee's ...

This is a great survey of the themes that have emerged in contemporary photography. Very easy to read and understand, but by no means a superficial survey. An excellent text for beginning traditional or digital photography students.

Practical appreciation
Ian Jeffrey explores the work of sixty-nine of the world's greatest photographers with some thought provoking text about their work. The pages are arranged in a vague history of the medium starting with Fox Talbot and four of his photos over four pages. Some names have more depending on how big their creative contributions were, for instance: Lee Friedlander gets six pages; Kertesz and Paul ...
