Driven by guilt John and Lorraine, from Zindel's first novel The Pigman, make one final trip to Mr. Pignati's house. To their surprise the house is not abandoned but seems to be secretly occupied by another old man. Who is he and what is he doing there? Motivated by their usual curiosity John and Lorraine just have to start up a conversation with him. This is one of the weakest of Zindel's ...

nonfiction for fiction lovers
My 12 year old daughter loves Harry Potter and Sammy Keyes. She moaned when I insisted that she read a biography this summer. Lucky for her, The Pigman and Me was with the biographies in the "young adult" section of our library. It was not what I'd had in mind, but she absolutely loved it.

an affirmation of marriage
An editorial review mentioned that this is a story about the near-destruction of a marriage. I see it, rather, as the affirmation of true marriage. Both the hero and heroine--having been misled about the character of previous betrothal connections must overcome feelings of distrust and personal pride to come to a true understanding . . . Trollope uses this novel to show that honesty and ...

This book was even better than "The Pigman" It was great
The rising action to the very finish kept me on the edge of my seat. No one can put you into a story like Paul Zindel. As a girl, I idolized Lorraine and fell in love with John. I found myself thinking in their position. The secret paragraphs and secret crushes made the book even better. And the end satisfied me so much that my eyes welled with tears while my heart filled with joy.

outstanding
This book was so good that i could never put it down. I read this book for a test in school and i got every question right! Paul Zidel is a great author and one of my favorites. This story basically ends what the first Pigman story didnt. It can teach children lots of important morals in life by John and Lorraines experiances. The way that this story is written is almost like watching a movie in ...

Pigman Review by Dallin Johnson
As a reader of The Pigman, I thought it was a very good book. I really loved the way that it was narrated. It was humorous at some points when John and Lorraine would switch off chapters. They would always correct the previous writer on something they said about each other. I thought it was clever and it kept my attention for the whole book. The story and characters in The Pigman were ...

Paul Zindel's "The Pigman": A Study Guide from Gale's "Novels for Students" (Volume 14, Chapter 9)

Not very useful
I was looking for a novel guide that includes student activities--vocabulary, plot development, characterization, literary elements, etc.--as well as quizzes and/or tests. This one doesn't have any of those things. It provides excellent background information for the teacher, but none of the time-saving activities I hoped would be there!
