Probably learned more about early Virginia from this than in school!
This is not just for young girls. I have bought this and the other Welcome to _____ World (Felicity, Kit, Kirsten, Samantha, Molly, Kaya, Josefina and Addy) for women from 5 years to 85 years. All have been engrossed and enchanted. Best American history teaching you can find! Do not hesitate to add this and the other AG Welcome books to your library.

Fantastic succession planning book
This book is a great resource for familites who want to try to keep a family second home over multiple generations. Wish we had read this before putting our family property in a trust- after reading it, we will probably be changing to an LLC holding entity instead! Heartily recommend this book, we got 2 copies and are passing it around.

Look Ma, no wands!
WOW!! Now here's a rip-roaring rollercoaster ride (but not on an actual rollercoaster) with a pace that never lets up-except for a moment here and there so you can catch your breath before you're off again! So, okay, without giving any plot spoilers, the deal is basically this; you've got your skeleton detective who's the good guy, with impeccable dress sense (except for the wig, which I ...

Great practical ideas and a wonderful "compost philosophy"
My favorite passage from this book points out that buying hundreds of dollars of composting gear runs directly counter to the philosophy underlying a compost / organic garden. Composting is about using what you have where you have it, and that idea resonates throughout this book. While the basic methods will be familiar to experienced gardeners, it's still cheering and invigorating to see the ...

What we're up against
If you've ever wondered why Muslim terroists do what they do -- the airplanes, the road side IUD's, the beheadings, the bus bombs in Tel Aviv or London, etc., etc. you need to read this book. If you've ever wondered why the Jews don't just pull back to the pre-67 boundaries so that that whole "palestinian thing" would just go away, you need to read this book. If you've ever wondered why Islam, ...

Word: A Real Dog Locked in a Shelter Cage for Eight Years Until
This is a wonderful story of unconditional love on the part of humans and animals. I volunteer for a no-kill shelter and am there as much as possible to receive the greatest gift; an animal's love. I also work at a YWCA and will read the story to the children in our transitional housing program this weekend because it tells the story of no matter what the adversity, there is always happiness just ...

SPIRITUAL GROWTH!!!
This book is great for women that are SERIOUS about their desire to grow spiritually. It's not a "bible study" book per se. But the idea is for you to take the biblical principals provided in this book, and apply them to your daily living. It is encouraged that you do go over each lesson once a month for 12 months or once a week for 12 weeks. The objective is to bring you to a point where you can ...

A Brave Girl...Nakaissia's Review
It was an exciting story. I wanted to read it a lot. It was brave of her to keep her feelings inside and try to help her family to get to freedom. I am glad that she made it through, because I'm not sure I would have. I recommend this book for girls and boys, and even adults, as it's really good.

Nellie is worried the he will come and take them away from Samantha. I loved the ending, but I'm not going to give it away!

I have read the book through twice now and it just keeps getting better and better. I have read extensivly of the eastern settlements but knew very little about the western groups. I enjoyed seeing the differences as well as the similarities in the way of life and the furniture. The book was a nice balance of how life was day to day and the furniture they created. This is the second book I am ...
