Sith Preparing for their Revenge
After reading several books in the genre, I have come to believe that James Luceno is the best of the Star Wars writers. While some may credit this to the fact that he has better plots to works with, I suspect the fact that he adds depth to the characters from the movies is also a factor. "Labyrinth of Evil" is the perfect set up for "Revenge of the Sith." Beginning with Viceroy Gunray's ...

Christmas in October!
The Private series centers on Reed Brennan, a scholarship student, and the chains of events that unfold when she enters the Easton Academy and moves to the Billing House -- the most exclusive and sought-after girls dormitory in campus. Those who have read the series knows that she falls victim to Ariana Osgood after she starts dating seventeen-year-old resident hottie and rogue Thomas Pearson. ...

Finally!
As someone who watched the so called "Dresden Files" to the bitter end, not that the start was any fun, I can say this book will help wash out the memories of the submissive, metrosexual(?) Harry Dresden. Don't ask me about Bob because I'm still confused. This is the real "Harry from the books", the guy who takes a licking and keeps on ticking. The guy whose character has developed from the ...

Worth reading. However...
The story of this novel is indeed interesting. It shows events before the appearance of death note and Kira. If you are a fan of death note, this novel is a must read. However, if you are a big fan of L (like me), the ending of the story will be a disappointment for you. The novel is great overall. In the end, you'll find some interesting facts that have never shown in the anime.

My, are we getting picky...
I am very disappointed... with the reviewers who rated this book with less than a 4 star. I remember years ago reading comic books that were declared the unsavory UNDERGROUND because they were not published by DC or Marvel. Those whose preferences were outside the superhero in Spandex had little to read. And we were SO bad for wanting something more... Glad those days are long over! I ...

Answered a lot of my questions
First King helped to answer a lot of the questions I had about the Sword of Shannara trilogy, such as the history of the creation of the actual sword and how Jerle failed at defeating the dark forces. It also brought into play the black elfstone, giving us a little more information about this mysterious stone. The book was relatively short for Brooks, considering it was a one book stand alone ...

Absolutely Intriguing
All I can say is that I loved the book! At first I thought the books could never amount to the greatness of the show but when I started to read I got hooked! The first book I read was "Don't Forget About Me," which was bought by a friend for me since she knew I was obsessed with the show. After reading it I was motivated to buy "It Had to Be You" and now after reading it I want to read ALL OF THE ...

Great Novella, gives some wonderful insights
I've read many a book, but none reach me like this series has. The entire Sword of Truth series, sets a pretty high standard for epic fantasy, let along a good book series. Early books had some places that were a bit clunky, (it was the authors first books if I'm not mistaken), but don't we ALL start out something a bit green, and then hone our skills? The more books by Goodkind you read, you ...

Better than the first Chronicles
I am a big STAR WARS fan. I may not be a huge fan, like those who purchase every single piece of merchandise released. But I love the saga, the movies, the games, the memorabilia in general. I can't afford everything Lucas release related to STAR WARS. I have to select the most important pieces to compose my personal collection. And I must say this book, like the first Chronicles, is a MUST HAVE. ...

The nice way to re-read the novelizations of the Prequel Trilogy
When the Prequel Trilogy came to the movie screens, many old-time fans of the Star Wars saga undoubtedly felt somewhat dissatisfied with certain incomplete plot lines or seemingly unrelated phrases said by the main characters. I have to admit I was one of those fans. After watching the complete trilogy and the Clone Wars animated series, and after reading several Star Wars books, I came to ...

Good stuff....
I liked the movie, so reading this was fairly easy. Like most people, the first time I watched the movie, I was clueless as to what happened or what it meant. After watching it again and again, I loved it. The Prequel Saga graphic novel is pretty sweet. I wish that I had known about it before I watched the movie, as the Prequel Saga is supposed to be part 1-3 and the movie parts 4-6! ...

Prequel? Really?
While I knew that Marion Zimmer Bradley also wrote the famous (and yet still unread by this reviewer) "Mists of Avalon", I was pretty sure that this book was a standalone when I read it. And it certainly felt like one! Good to know I picked a "prequel" and not a sequel. "The Forest House" is a really nicely written fantasy/romance sort of novel. It's got this thick, intriguing plot. The plot ...
Spade & Archer: The Prequel to Dashiell Hammett's The Maltese Falcon

A gritty, pitch-perfect noir novel: the authorized prequel to Dashiell Hammett?s classic, The Maltese Falcon . We know what P.I. Sam Spade is about from the first pages of Hammett?s iconic book: straight talk, no favors, a protective shell he wears like a second skin. We know that his late partner, Miles Archer, was a son of a bitch; that Spade is sleeping with Archer?s wife, Iva; that his tomboyish secretary, Effie, is the only innocent in ...
