Superhero Starter Kit (Chicken Socks)
Superhero to the rescue
Great little kit for little boys. My son got this as a gift at age 2 1/2 and is still playing with it at age 4 1/2. The cape is such a great vibrant red. It's hard to find a nice cape like that. We didn't have any problems with our velcro as it is still working 2 years later. The masks and stickers are fun but are of limited duration. It might have been nice to have a cloth made mask but ...
Autobiography of a Fat Bride: True Tales of a Pretend Adulthood
Better than her first!
I actually enjoyed this one more than the first - I actually laughed so hard I cried a few times. All in all, I really enjoyed it. She's still not quite at the Sedaris level, but I'll keep an eye out for her books and we'll see where she goes from there. The toothbrush chapter was definitely the best, though there were some other great parts as well.
Pretend Soup and Other Real Recipes: A Cookbook for Preschoolers and Up
Ann L. Henderson
Developmentally Appropriate Cookbook for Preschoolers
After trying a bunch of cookbooks with my 3 year old son, this one was by far the best. The authors designed developmentally appropriate pages for the child to "read" and follow the recipe with more independence. Brilliant!
Let's Pretend This Never Happened (Dear Dumb Diary, No. 1)
I love these books! This diary takes place in the mind of Jamie Kelly, your typical tween girl. This book is so funny! And the rest are excellent too! She describes everything in her own way, like "Glitter-fu" as a highly advanced 'glitterfication' method. Someone told me that they gave it to their 6-year-old sister, who later started using the word 'turd' around the house. Her parents didn't ...
Dear Dumb Diary: A Triple Scoop of Rage with Giggle Sprinkles (Let's Pretend This Never Happened / My Pants ...
My 8 yr. old daughter loves this book!
My daughter loves the Dear Dumb Diary series. The bonus of this book is that it has the 1st three stories all in it. She spends a lot of time reading and re-reading it. I recommend this book for any 8-10 year old girl.
This Is the Part Where You Pretend to Add Value: A Dilbert Book (Dilbert Book Collections Graphi)
Andrews McMeel Publishing
Adams - As Sharp & Funny as Ever!
This latest (31st) collection of Dilbert cartoons contains all the syndicated cartoon strips (including the longer Sunday strip) from March 2007 - early January 2008. As a bonus, they are now ALL in colour, not just the Sunday ones. I have really enjoyed this collection - Adams has hit a new bit of sharp form in this latest collection. Wally, PHB, Alice....they are all here. An excellent, ...
The Pretend Wife
I purchased a book from this seller and it arrived very quickly and in great condition, would buy from again!
Pretend You Don'T See Her
Simon & Schuster, 2000
Pretend You Don't See Her
I loved the book. I am especially pleased that regardless of the danger to her, another person's dieing wish was kept. Some people still have morals.
Benny And Penny in Just Pretend
Hayes captures the age group so well. You'll love sharing this story with your little one.
Rubber Band Powered Flying Machines (Klutz)
The art and science of aviation, conveniently delivered in a rubber band. You may remember rubber band planes from your own flying days, made out of equal parts of balsa wood and frustration. Forget ‘em. Klutz has reinvented the airplane. In the high-flying tradition of The Klutz Book of Paper Airplanes, Rubber Band Flying Machines gives kids everything they need to fly like a pro, indoors or out. Simple directions explain how to assemble the ...
Fakin' Eh!: How to Pretend to Be Canadian
Dan De Figueiredo
An excellent guide on what it means to be Canadian and how to fake it if you're not.
I recommend this book to any American who has flirted with the idea of quitting the US and moving up north or just wants to fake being Canadian. Dan de Figueiredo does a great job of guiding the reader through topics that would normally be sensitive, boring, or puzzling to the average American. This book is packed full of information on Canadian history, civics, values, institutions, and ...
Dick and Jane: We Play and Pretend
Grosset & Dunlap
My son has dyslexia. These books have been exceptional in helping us teach him to read. Much more repetitive than some of the newer reading programs. Offers a dyslexic child an opportunity to repeat a word over and over in order to store it.
Play Pretend with Muno (Yo Gabba Gabba!)
i love to play pretend with my nephews. this book helps them understand whats going on.
Acting Essentials, or, Just Say Your Lines Like You Mean Them and Don't Bump into the Scenery
McGraw-Hill Humanities/Social Sciences/Languages
This book is really wonderful. I am teaching a beginning acting class, and I like it much better than the university assigned text! Many exercises and a no nonsense approach to acting. Easy to assimilate. Highly recommend.
Everything You Pretend to Know And Are Afraid Someone Will Ask
A good source of info
I have only read half of this book, but I carry it in my purse since it is very small and it is great for whenever I have a few minutes to read a few pages. It is not the type of book you read cover to cover since there is a lot of condensed information. It is fun to quiz people with the questions, because there is lot in that book that surprizes most people. If you are thirsty for information ...
Literacy Play : Over 300 Dramatic Play Activities that Teach Pre-Reading Skills
love it; great ideas for dramatic play and literacy activities; my preschooler loves doing them and it's time well spent; the best learning takes place when kids don't feel they're being "schooled" and this definitely fits the bill
Let's Pretend Rose's Doll's House
Terrific gift for girls ages 4-6
We received this book/toy as a gift for my daughter's 5 year birthday - what a hit! It's terrific to bring on trips, have anywhere in the house, easy to clean up and great for the imagination. A great birthday present for a "new" friend or an addition to another present for someone you've known for a longer time.
Samhain Publishing, Ltd., 2006
Veronica Peale, Ronnie, is a woman who believes in schedules and order. These are traits that are very helpful in her job as a personal secretary for a lawyer. This morning everything is off schedule, all because her college roommate, Kayla Carpenter, is in town. Kayla, a model, stops in when her schedule permits and when she needs to emotionally unload. Kayla is somewhat self-absorbed and ...
Surreal Gourmet: Real Food for Pretend Chefs
this is good stuff
I love this cook book. It's simple and easy to follow. Bob explains why it's best to use certain ingredients that will make a difference in the overall flavor, like using sea salt or fresh herbs. I love the black olive spread, the eggplant spread and the caesar salad. But, I also learned some great simple techniques like using a good wooden bowl for making the caesar. I also liked the tips at ...
