This book is a gift!
This book is a gift for all the brave souls who work in retail! Anyone with any retail experience with laugh out loud with recognition at the scenarios Norman Feuti describes. I do like working in retail but this book captures the downsides in a hilarious way. It also allowed me to discover Feuti's comic strip 'Retail' which I think of as 'Dilbert' for retail employees.

Pretending the Bed is a Raft
I love this author. I'm from Florida, and she writes very charming stories that incorporate small town Florida. She is very easy to read. There are several short stories in this book that allow you to pick it up and read an entire story in less than half an hour. Great if you don't have a ton of time to invest in your reading.

More than just 5 stars!
I just read this book and I believe this book is excellent. I didn't want to put the book down once I started, and I will probably read it again. It will touch many people and help them move on with their lives from the hurts from the past. This book is not only for victims, it can be for the average person. It is very informative and will help the nonvictim be more understanding toward someone ...

The Girl Pretending to Read Rilke
This beautiful Roman a Clef is must reading for all my female students who are entering science or academic medicine. It gives a wonderful and true flavor of the time and situation of a young woman who wants to become a scientist in the early 1960's [before Betty Friedan's book and the women's movement]. The book is almost painful in its honesty. The author describes an exciting summer of ...

One of the first books to tell us something new about the process of battering since Lenore Walker's classic twenty years ago. Rodriguez's autobiography is a beautifully written, stark, reflective memoir of her parents' abusive marriage as well as her own life with a battering husband and the effects on their eight children. No easy answers here, no excuses, no pop psychobabble, no ...
