Colorful Love - I Love This Book!
This delightful story with equally delightful illustrations is a rare gem. I like the way the baby is taught about having a pretty brown face. I love the loving way the father and child look at one another and interact. It is for all races and it does an excellent job of showing love for a baby and many children will want to explore their own faces after reading and/or hearing this lovely ...

Insight into an artist
This is a good book. Ignore the typos (2007 edition) and read for the content. I read this book for 2 reasons. One, I read this to satisfy my curiosity about an artist who could put out "Fisherman's Blues," "The Whole of the Moon," and "A Pagan Place." On the day I bought the book I bought the rest of Mike Scott's releases and was further puzzled by the diversity of musical and lyrical ...

Continuing the funny saga of Rando...
This series continues to be very funny, though it seems that by volume 3 there are too many fights and too many nosebleeds. But this is not significant enough to detract from the overall enjoyment of the series.

Possibly the single funniest manga volume I've ever read.
Much of this is standard funny-Rando/Yuna fare, but during the chapter where Rando masquerades as a hot date for Dr. Manabe, I dropped the book on the floor, I was laughing so hard! This whole sequence doesn't advance the story at all, but it was such a purely ludicrous situation for Rando to be in, that it went over the top and stayed there. Putting the electrode pads on Rando's joints was so ...

Fresh take on an old story
Well, it's not exactly a novel idea in manga / anime to have a guy 'become' a girl - Ranma 1/2, Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl, etc. among the notable ones along that theme. But Pretty Face does a surprisingly good job at taking that same beginning and giving the story a whole different perspective. As a lead character, Rando has surprising depth. In our first introduction to him, he comes ...

Living Well is the Best Revenge
Great plot, great characters, great sex scenes. Gabrielle Goldsby is a master. And this ain't just for lesbians, folks. Goldsby deals with conflicts and emotions that anyone with a heart (or libido) can understand. Her portrayal of Mia Sanchez--a young woman dumped by her lover for "letting herself go"--sparkles with emotional accuracy. I hope Goldsby's work finds a wide range of eager ...

A great concept, and terrific stories
I ended up staying up far too late the night I got this book, because I kept telling myself I'd just read one more. The stories were well-written (I especially loved "Worse than the Curse" and "Casting Against Type"), and while the theme was definitely evident in all the stories, it was not hammered in. A touch of spice, rather than an overwhelming topnote.

Tender touching tale, children can easily understand
The Beautiful Princess Without a Face April Robins has done it again! The Beautiful Princess Without a Face, a beautifully illustrated book, is not only a brilliant touching story, but I used the experience as a tool to teach my grandchildren about their senses, and what it means to lose the ability to see, smell, hear, and taste the things around us that we love the most. My grandkids and I ...

Oh-so-fun!
This is one of the best manga series' I've ever read! It literally is laugh-out-loud funny! I think even people who don't get into manga would like this - but you have to have an adult sense of humor. No one under the age of 14 (for girls) and 16 (for boys) should read this!

Generous, insightful, and compelling
Selu is a wonderful storyteller. The reader's expectations are completely turned upside-down at everyturn. A page turner par-excellence. This book should be required reading in every women's studies course. The subject matter truly problematizes what is considered women's work, including sex-work, and women's roles. Begs the question be answered, "how do women become EMPOWERED by sex?" ...

An Oldie but Goodie
I happened to browsing through my large book collection when I came across this Harlequin Temptation. The title struck me right away and I remembered reading it years ago. Taking a bit of time to relax back, I really found myself re-enjoying this novel. Pierce Kingston is a famous movie star. He makes twelve million for a picture, but some crazed fan has been harrassing him, making his family ...

Carving the Female Face :How -To Carve Pretty Faces in Wood
I almost bought this book hoping it would give me the necessary missing elements for my smaller faces .I got to preview it at a woodworking show .Glad I did because ,though it is great for an individual to learn to do a mouth ,nose, eyes ect. it is somewhat lacking in showing the technique and how to put it all together .A great book for someone needing to know how to go about doing the ...
