An excellent textbook
As an instructor at a college, I have used the last three editions of Mr Slater's book since 1999. This has to be one of the most understandable, helpful and explanatory textbooks ever produced. The examples are clearly written, and the use of small, quick reference 'vignettes' make it so easy for the student to get answers to just about any question they want to pose. I use many textbooks, as I ...

If you are a writer, this book will help!
Unless you are still writing on a typewriter or with paper and pencil, this book will improve your work. First it tells you the kind of mistakes you should be looking for, then tells you how to find and correct them using your word processor. You won't find lessons on characterization or plot. You will find ways to make your writing tighter and more presentable to both the reader and the ...

From The Gr(S)ound Up!
Whether you want to record in a studio or work with live sound, this book really delivers. It takes you from hooking up the equipment correctly, through a thorough discussion of mixing boards and microphones, to sound processing including compressors, gates, reverb, and delay (phaser/flanger/chorus). When I picked up the book, I'd been working with live sound for about a year and wanted to ...

Out of a collection of more than 400 cookbooks, Pleasures of Your Processor is my absolute #1 favorite. Norene's recipes are well-written, easy to follow and always work. Just a few of our family ...

Awesome !Very vital to becoming computer literate !!!
I have been reading Aubrey Pilgrim's Save a Bundle series for some time (How to Build a PC and Save a Bundle to this one!) now... So *that's* how you fix that!
Because I spend most of my time programming and not writing reports and such in Word, I just figure that certain quirks of Word existed because I was too dumb to know better. While that may still be the case, I now have a way to make my Word time more productive and less annoying... Word Annoyances by Guy Hart-Davis. This is a *really* good book for anyone who uses Word (although Microsoft may ...

JEKYLL AND HYDE - THE WAR YEARS - VOL 3
This was the third of three Goebbel War Year diaries that I bought and read. Although not the easiest prose to read -- in part they were not written necessarily to be read but to be perhaps used in a memoir that was destined to never be written -- this and the other two diaries are fascinating books for people fascinated by that era. This diary ends on 9 April 45. According to the introduction ...

excellent, thorough, and clear
I had a chance to recommend this to a colleague just last week. It is easily twice the price of the "competing" books on the market, but you get what you pay for. With this book plus (perhaps) a hands-on course in the microprocessor laboratory--interfacing various logic families to output devices, e.g., or whipping up a robot of limited capabilities--the student gains the ultimate understanding ...

Good advanced program. We use it with the basic and love the flow.
This program picks up nicely where the basic course leaves off. It allows all of our processors to gain the fundamentals, and then move to more advanced concepts when they feel comfortable. The format was easy to understand and flows in a fantastic manner from start to finish. I have been in real estate and lending for over 15 years and find this courswork to be one of the better programs out ...

One of my favorite cookbooks
This book is packed with absolutely delicious recipes. My favorite: Mushroom, Green Pepper and Pepperoni Pizza, page 190. It is pizzeria-style pizza with yeast dough that you can make at home without a huge amount of fuss or bother. It has become a family favorite. Sooooo good. Mmmmmmmm.
