Race and the American Prospect: Essays on the Racial Realities of Our Nation and Our Time

The Occidental Press
, 2006
The Galileos of our time invite you to peer into their telescope . . .
The promotion of racial egalitarianism and "diversity" is the state religion of our time. So says Sam Francis in the Introduction to this magisterial and authoritative collection of essays written by some of America's leading dissidents. Egalitarianism and diversity are promoted by all the institutions of our society, which subject us to an all-encompassing and unceasing propaganda that the ...

a landmark poetic document recorded and built by a master
if you want to know where the comtemporary obsession with large format color "street" work came from, this is it. newer books, by artists like alec soth and other color documentary artists, are excellent, important books, but it must at least be noted that the true groundbreakers were working a generation ago, putting out these kinds of books before it was the accepted trend. and simply put, this ...

Reinventing Collapse: The Soviet Example and American Prospects

The End of American Empire, and much more?
Orlov's REINVENTING COLLAPSE argues that the United States is on the verge of a political and economic collapse largely similar to the one experienced by the Soviet Union in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Orlov proceeds from the insight which I first tentatively proposed in MANDARINS OF THE FUTURE, and which Odd Arne Westad developed in magnificent detail in THE GLOBAL COLD WAR, namely that the ...

Best Prospect Book
The Baseball America Prospect book is the very best prospect book written. Its a real shame that Baseball America does not write a Major League book like it. The book goes into detail of the ball player. It is a book I use all summer long. At the trading dead line in MLB I often refer to it.

Easy to Consume Web Strategy Knowledge
Did you like "Don't Make Me Think?" If so, this is a must-have addition to your core web strategy, design, and marketing knowledge library. Who wrote this book and why does it matter? Luckily, I had the opportunity to see the authors, Lance and Sandra, present at a recent web conference and I was blown away by their insight into lead generation and how effectively they could communicate it. ...

T.C. Boyle

In the top ten of funniest books of the 20th Century
Boyle's second novel is easily his funniest and one of his 3 or 4 best. If you can get through the first chapters without laughing out loud, you have no sense of humor. I initially avoided this book because I thought it would be Cheech & Chong stoner humor, but this is seriously intelligent stuff, with 4 or 5 indelible characters. The descriptions of the shack, bars and houses in this tale are ...

Great for fantasy leagues and watching Minor League Baseball
I don't know that anyone can do this type of thing better short of dedicating 5-6 pages per prospect. The profiles are concise but detailed and full of easily understood stats and reports. One of the most interesting things about this book is if you have the one from the year before, you can track how far a particular prospect has risen or fallen based on his performance over the last year. ...

Wonderful book
I am amazed that nobody wrote yet a review of this book. I liked this book a lot. David Bodansky's style is logical, concise and fun to read. What I liked most is that the author succeeds to attack with equal clarity a wide range of diverse subjects about nuclear energy: - Economic considerations on nuclear energy. - The physics principles behind nuclear reactions, and their relevance in ...

If you have any interest in following baseball beyond each team's 25-man roster, then this is an essential publication. Covering 30 prospects for each major league team (for a total of 900), this is about as comprehensive a look you're going to find at prospects. Baseball America has a well-earned reputation as the best place to find minor league, college, and high school baseball ...

Vaux and Olmstead's true masterpiece
Long-overlooked because of the size--and Manhattan location--of Central Park, Prospect Park, also by Calvert Vaux and Fredrerick Law Olmstead, is in its own way aesthetically superior. Built for the same reasons as Central Park, Prospect Park was to offer beauty and relief from the congestion that spread across the rapidly growing city of Brooklyn. The neighboring Botanical Garden was to both ...

Refreshing, honest
Funny and irreverent, Kimball captures prosaically what so many of us artists and art lovers often feel. The nexus between art critics, gallery owners, and celebrity has always been insidious. Kimball shows no mercy when jabbing at politically correct shibboleths in the established art economy. Contrary to what another reviewer (I must wonder whether he actually read the book) has posted ...
Remittances: Development Impact and Future Prospects
World Bank Publications

Publication of this book is especially important for my country because our economy depends to a large extent on the remittances of overseas workers. Kudos to the World Bank for publishing this comprehensive and useful book. Gloria ...

The Word on Prospects
This book is the best out there, by far, on evaluating a team's farm system. While 30 players certainly isn't comprehensive, almost all worthwhile prospects are in there (though it depends on how many legitimate prospects a team has). In the front, they rank teams on their overall farm system, and then have a series of Top 50 prospect lists (with several of their writers each having a say). I'm ...

An Update to a Classic
Twenty five years ago Pamela McCorduck wrote a definitive book on Artificial Intelligence. She saw artificial intelligence as the scientific apotheosis of one of the most enduring, glorious, often amusing, and sometimes alarming, ...

Baseball America has estbalished itself as the best place to find coverage of baseball prospects, and this book should further solidify that reputation. Lewis Mumford deftly explores the formation and development of the city from its early Mesopotamian and Egyptian roots to its modern day manifestations. Of particular interest to meis his analysis of the walled versus open cities, and the ...
