You can actually feel the sound
The energetic Yotsuba Koiwai continue in the third volume of Kiyohiko Azuma's new manga series, involving a precocious Yotsuba, she with four pigtails, her father, their next door neighbours, the Ayases, and Jumbo, the hyperthyroid friend of her father's. Giving each other souvenirs or gifts is something so Japanese, called "okaeshi" or return favours, and it can be endless. Since Asagi, the ...

Alternate-universe take on the popular Japanese animated show
Intended for readers age thirteen to adult, the sixth and final volume of Neon Genesis Evangelion Angelic Days concludes Fumino Hayashi's alternate-universe take on the popular Japanese animated show and its characters with an array of short stories set at varying times in the characters' lives. Though the world of Angelic Days is less bleak than that of the anime, and its protagonists are less ...

Had me laughing for hours.
This is a nice, short series but the impact is has ont he reader is on par with series that have up to 20 volumes and even then some. I bought this on a whim since I heard the series was funny and I became a instant, die-hard fan. Memorable characters, hilarious gags, outrageous puns, and a intresting gag-manga type format makes this series extremely worth it. Just make sure you have your ...

Yotsuba Continues to Entertain!
For those who enjoyed the first 4 volumes this brings the same cuteness and hilarity. Cardbo the cardboard robot that runs on money and Yanda, Yotsuba's arch nemesis, are great chapters that gave me bouts of sidesplitting laughter. As all the previous volumes reading Yotsuba Vol. 5 brightens my day every time I read through them.

FINDING MORE IN THE WORLD
As summer vacation winds down, Fuka, the neighbor next door, makes a big mistake by telling Yotsuba about a heartbreak she is experiencing with a guy she likes. She tells Yotsuba to keep it a secret but I don't think Yotsuba even knows what a secret is. The kid is just totally mind blowing in the wind truthful and proceeds to tell everyone in both households, even publishing a self-made newspaper ...

Humorous, wacky and awesome manga!
This is done by the same author of Yotsuba (and you know that it's going to be awesome). ADV decided to release all 4 volumes in one Omnibus edition and the paper is a larger print (a huge plus since I've owned omnibus edition that were the same size as a regular manga and it simply messes up the entire book). The price of all 4 volumes combined is around $40 but you can own all 4 in one book ...

The start of another great series by Kiyohiko Azuma
From the creator of Azumaga Daioh comes the story of a sweet green-haired orphan girl, her adopted family, and the neighborhood that she lives in. Yotsuba&! centers around a five year old girl name Yotsuba Koiwai and the quirky misadventures of being a young child.

Good different look at a great series
What can I say? It's a great continuation of a new way to look at the Neon Genesis Evangalion series. A good read^-^

Best of the series!
This the best volume of Yotsuba&! yet! It has my two favorite sequences in it: "Yotsuba & Revenge" and "Yotsuba & The Frog". The first one features our green-haired girl running around her neighbors' house with a squirt gun, spraying everyone in sight because of the 'murder' of her father. The second has her, her neighbor Ena, and Ena's friend Miura simultaneously freaking out. You have to read ...

TRYING TO FIND A CONNECTION
Volume 4 of Gunslinger Girl begins with a focus on perhaps the saddest member of the cast of girl assassins: Claes. Her handler had begun to doubt the ethics of what he was doing and had thought about exposing the whole operation. To prevent this, he was liquidated by the SWF. The problem is that once a girl bonds to her handler, there is no going back and it is extremely hard, if not impossible, ...

Chinsuko! Ukoncha!
ADV's manga translation team is to be commended. Their cultural notes section is without flaw - except in two cases. I'll get to that. By now, Osaka has dropped most of her Osak... Italian accent. (why did they make her a mobster in the manga and a hick in the anime?) Chiyo's changed her hair. Sakaki is able to touch a cat without being mamed. A wind of change comes through the world of ...

Yay! Love Triangles!
Yeah, this evangelion was a blast to start off, can't wait to finish it. Come on, didn't you wanna know what would it have been like if Asuka didn't come from such a bad background, or if Shinji still had his mom, Yui around? Or if Gendo was more....humane? Or Rei being such a cheery and bright girl, unlike the cold clones that were so loyal to Gendo in the original canon. Or if Asuka and Rei ...

The Way It Should Have Been!
YESSS! No more whining Shinji or emo Rei! I, along with all other Evangelion fans, are probably jumping for joy. *jump*. In the anime series, a small protion of the final episode relates to a parallel universe where this manga series begins. The manga Evangelion Angelic Days takes place in New Tokyo 3, where young Shinji Ikari wakes up in a place where the main story of Evangelion starts ...

Finally Coming Together
While Vol 4 meandered about, for the most part... so does Volume 5, sadly. But, the last chapter of the book is superb and brings back the excitement, tragedy and heartfelt sentiment found in the first 3. The manga is still hit or miss from chapter to chapter, but when it hits, it's some of the best stuff out there.

Really Good
I have to say the timing on putting a volume dedicated to a flash back right after the time skip in the actual story beguns is perfect, it also fills in the mysteries of Negisa and how the life of Shinji's parents were during their school days and what sacrifices each gave for each other.

A good alternative to the anime.
First of all, let me just say I'm completely obsessed with Evangelion. I loved the series, read the manga, and am now waiting impatiently for Angelic Days Vol. 3. At first, I approached Angelic Days with caution. The artwork doesn't seem that good at first and the mood was a sharp contradiction to that of the original series. However, I soon began enjoying it much more than I expected. The ...
