VERY INTRIGUING BOOK
This is a very good book. The story opens in 2010 with Jody in bed with Red, her 3 uncles (Chase, Bobby and Meryl) drive up to her house. They have come to tell her that the murderer of her father (Hugh-Jay) has gotten out of prison and is returning to their town of Rose, KS. Ballantine Books, 2008

The Surgeon is After Rizzoli Again!
In this spine chilling sequel to The Surgeon, a copycat Apprentice is brazenly murdering couples. The husbands are found in their homes, the wives' bodies are dumped in the woods. The crimes are eerily similar to the Surgeons, but he's locked safely away...until he escapes and joins forces with his new found commrade. Detective Jane Rizzoli is the object of their affection/obsession.

The Surgeon: with Bonus Content192 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2001

Sucks the Air Out of You!
I sampled this book on Kindle and bought it immediately. Gerritsen pulled me in, scared me, shocked me and most importantly, entertained me. I highly recommend this medical thriller/police procedural to all mystery lovers. The author's background as an M.D. added a gritty layer that kept me turning the pages.

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet: A Novel273 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2009

Believe it or not
I found this book, though fiction very enlightening. I knew of the camps, but this made it real. I thought the book very easy to read and though I got angry at some of the contrivances, it was a very thought proving book!

Fahrenheit 4511357 reviews
Ray Bradbury

Ballantine Books, 2008

Disturbingly familiar...
Fahrenheit 451 is a short and simple book that deals with some incredibly complex issues. Most people mistakenly believe that Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit about censorship. Although that shoe does fit this story, Bradbury actually wrote this book to highlight the possible consequences that our society may have to face if the trend of television and similar forms of entertainment began to overtake ...

Ice Cold: A Rizzoli & Isles Novel: with Bonus Content36 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2010

Tess Hits a Grand Slam
This book is the best yet in a great series. I couldn't put it down. Gerritsen is an extremely talented author who continues to refine her craft. I loved this book.

Vanish: A Novel108 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2005

Powerful story!
This edition in the Rizzoli and Isles saga is different....it starts off from the perspective of Mila, an illegal alien from Russia who has been lured to America on false pretenses. Once she arrives she is immediately sold like a piece of meat to a prostitution ring where there is no escape. This part of the story is horrific and gritty, but very real. The story then meets up with Maura when she ...

Inside Out: A Novel40 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2010

A BRILLIANT ACCOUNT CALLED FICTION, BUT IS IT?
He's never failed me yet - Barry Eisler's books have been consistently exciting, gripping, can't-put-down thrillers, especially the John Rain titles. However, with INSIDE OUT he exceeds his own high standards with a revealing look at the netherworld of official torture, killings, and ghosting of detaineees. While it is a brilliant fictional account, don't think for a minute that it's ...

The Passage: A Novel376 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2010

Nail Biter
I don't remember the last time I read a book and was actually frightened by the story. It's as if my worst nightmares had been realized, the writing so vividly captured my attention. I enjoyed the book very much and only wish I had heard about it 5 years in the future, so the series would be finished and I could read them all.

Fault Line: A Novel116 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2009

Slow start
This was the first of Barry Eisler's books that I have read, and when I started it I thought it would probably be my last. The writing in the first chapter did not have a "professional" feel to it. However, I soon was caught up in the story line. The major characters were people with very different personalities and backgrounds. Alex is a lawyer who has lived a structured and predictable ...

One Dance with a Duke23 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2010

Review from Books & Wine
I am beginning to think it is literally impossible to read One Dance With A Duke by Tessa Dare without a silly grin. Now, this book was my first foray into romance, a genre which I sort of had this tendancy to ridicule. I know, I know, not nice to make fun of heaving bosoms and what not. However, I guess that's what happens when I read one Danielle Steele book and judge a whole genre based off of ...

Twice Tempted by a Rogue6 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2010

Tessa Dare is Amazing!
Tessa Dare is such an amazing romance author. Her writing seems to be improving, if that were even possible. I don't want Mrs. Dare to think that that was an insult of any sort, though the substance of the writing is a lot deeper than the first trilogy I read, either that, or the love scenes are just that much more intense. I really loved the setting for this book, it sounded very beautiful and ...

Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin192 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2009

The Big O Definitely Missed the Boat On This One!
This book is, in one word, fabulous! Going into this memoir, I thought, "Okay, a comedy novel with a few life stories thrown in." To my delight, I was completely wrong. It really is her entire life story. The book is heartfelt, touching, and hysterical! I read the entire thing in a few days; I just could not drag myself away from it. It gave me a chance to see Kathy on a totally personal, at ...

Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child1325 reviews

Ballantine Books, 2009

The Best Baby Book I've Read
This book's techniques worked the very first night we tried them. Our daughter slept an entire night for the first time in her 9 1/2 month life (and has done so for several weeks since). She used to wake up several times during the night and wake up for the day at 4:30-5:00 a.m. She now sleeps 12-13 hours at night (6 p.m.-7 a.m.). I wish someone had recommended it to me sooner or that I had ...
