ice
I have read, and look forward to, all of Linda Howards books and I have to say I was somewhat dissappointed in this one. For one thing it was pretty short in length and for another the plot was sort of blah. It started out pretty good but didn't last. I'm hoping for more from the next release.

Divine Misdemeanors: A Novel (Meredith Gentry, Book 8)
Laurell K. Hamilton
Ballantine Books, 2009
You may know me best as Meredith Nic Essus, princess of faerie. Or perhaps as Merry Gentry, Los Angeles private eye. In the fey and mortal realms alike, my life is the stuff of royal intrigue and celebrity drama. Among my own, I have confronted horrendous enemies, endured my noble kin?s treachery and malevolence, and honored my duty to conceive a royal heir?all for the right to claim the throne. But I turned my back on court and crown, choosing ...

Wonderful historic novel !
Well-written fictionalized version of a few years of the life of Frank Lloyd Wright's lover. Our book club will be reading it & taking a tour of one of Wright's home as a "field trip".

A Missouri Yankee in Europe
I think this book was the best of the series. In his usual style of "historical fiction" Mr. Shaara takes us through the European theatre in WWII as seen through the eyes of its generals, politicians and, the parts I found most interesting, the soldiers themselves. This is solid storytelling, primarily focusing on the Battle of the Bulge, as seen through the eyes of the grunts, and as ...

Very Enjoyable Book (and it really is a book, too)
I was thoroughly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Admittedly, I am a big fan of Kathy Griffin. Based on her "D List" show, I expected this book to be a bit of a joke. I am an avid reader, and I was very impressed by the quality of the writing in this book. It is very insightful and entertaining to read. I literally had difficulty putting it down. I have read other books by ...

Changed my life
What makes this book so powerful is that it has nothing to do with metaphysical beliefs, but only about the world we see and how we can make accurate conclusions about it. In other words, it's about science, not religion-- it's the polar opposite of an atheist screed. For this reason the entire work is extremely respectful and can be a cornerstone in the life of any thinking person. It provides ...

Wish I'd read this sleep book first!
This was the best "baby sleep book" that I read for various reasons and I wish I'd read it before my son was born! It would have explained a lot and really helped. As it was, I read it when he was four months old and it was a huge find. I did a LOT of reading before and after birth about childrearing and this book is the bible about infant sleep science compared to the others. I agree with ...

a big chunk of WW2 action and thought
I haven't been sucked into such a war novel since the first time I read War and Peace. I just finished Steel Wave, as well. Wow, I am speechless. I only know one thing,..that I'd have definitely been the shell shocked coward that Patton slapped in the face. If all I can give this author is 5 stars,..you got it,..that's what I gave Tolstoy, too. Yes,..to all you huffing college profs,..I am not ...

Education for Dummies
Once in a while we get a little smug. We think we know all there is to know about all there is to know.My Daughter bought a copy of AN INCOMPLETE EDUCATION about 20 Years ago and I never have read it "page to page"...But anytime I open the cover I learn something in spite of my Dummy mentality. For example in my edition I just randomly flipped open to page 251 to find a Greek Literature ...

Blessings, Faith and Friendship
It has been an honor to have heard Casey Jones speak on two occasions about the incredible "Miracle on the Hudson" plane crash. The book that was written "Miracle on the Hudson" truly gives an insight on what happened to the passengers on board that flight last January. Casey spoke of his faith, and what went through his mind as the Captain said, "Brace for Impact." Casey spoke so eloquently ...

Not to be missed by vampire fans!
I think I read Interview with the Vampire a few years ago and just never got around to the Vampire Lesatat and so on. Well, when I ran across this book, I had to get it. And I totally fell in love with Lestat. He's the complete antithesis of Louis! However, both novels are top notch horror/vampire stories and Anne Rice is a masterful story teller. She knows how to write and she knows how to draw ...

Great book for parents and teachers
This is one of the most helpful books that I have ever read. As a high school math teacher, I have found a bunch of ways to implement the ideas presented in this book. The words that we use are powerful and really make a difference in the lives of those we interact with. If you want to change the lives of teens and others around you, read this book. I bought 10 of them and gave them away ...
