Vienna Prelude (The Zion Covenant, 1)32 reviews
Bodie Thoene, Brock Thoene

Bethany House Publishers, 2000

Fantastic Series. A real eye opener.
This book is a real eye opener if you are interested in WWII, but don't want to watch boring documentaries or read boring text books about it. It brings it to life. Charlotte Mason would have called this a "living book". Historically acurate history written in story format. There are 9 in the series, and all are worth the read.

Some Wildflower in My Heart34 reviews
Jamie Langston Turner

Bethany House Publishers, 2006

The best book i've read in ages - and i read a lot of books!
Where do I begin? I admit, when i started the book, i really had a hard time and almost put it down. It took about 10 pages in and I was hooked. This book is a very moving and tender story of a woman made bitter by tragedies in her life and who is shown love later in life by a very unlikely source who transforms her spiritually and helps her find God. It is a Christian novel but not your ...

A Western Love Story
I really enjoyed this book. My mom read it to me when I was three or four and recently She recomended that I read it myself. I am really happy that I did. Ellie Kay

Bethany House Publishers, 1998

Fabulous, easy read with great ideas
When you're facing financial difficulty, the last thing you should be doing is buying consumer products like books, right? Except maybe this one and one by Mary Hunt on managing money. I remember my mom cutting coupons but I never exactly studied the science of it. Ellie Kay breaks it all down for you. you get taught about ways to save money I had no idea existed. It's a quick, easy read ...

I Promise (Christy and Todd: The College Years #3)34 reviews
Robin Jones Gunn

Bethany House Publishers, 2001

The forever promise
Ever since I began to read Christy, from where it all began in Newport Beach, from under the trellis, I've become addicted to these series. These books are very special to me. Christy has become a part of me, and I hold the books in my heart. I love these books so much. In this book, Christy and Todd try to plan their wedding, and they try (and succeed!) to get over their differences in order to ...

Humility: The Journey Toward Holiness36 reviews
Andrew Murray

Bethany House Publishers, 2001

I Never Understood Humility Until Now
I have read about humility in books, including the bible for over twenty years. I have searched for what it means to be a humble person, as I always interpreted it as being a doormat. Andrew Murray talks about humility using the life of Christ as our perfect example in such a simple way. I can now apply these very simple principles to my everyday life and I feel free. I also love and ...

The Covenant/The Betrayal/The Sacrifice/The Prodigal/The Revelation (Abram's Daughters 1-5)35 reviews
Beverly Lewis

Bethany House Publishers, 2005

Wonderful-gut!
Again, Beverly Lewis has captured our hearts with her wonderful-gut stories. This series takes us through the family's blessed times and their heartaches over a period of seventeen or so years. The other viewers have already set the plot in motion, so I'll just say you'll fall in love with and will treasure this Amish family in your heart. It's hard to say good-bye but you'll be glad you ...

Lynn Austin

Eve's Daughters
All of Lynn Austin books are excellent. Caught my interest from the first page to last. Always well researched and inspirational. This is my last one to read. I hope she gets some more out because I find her the best christian fiction author today.

Great Series
I just love this series. I've read it many times and decided to purchase it off Amazon for my own. Lawana Blackwell has a unique style of writing that makes you feel like you are actually in the time period. Her other books are great as well. Check them out.

Summer Promise/A Whisper and a Wish/Yours Forever/Surprise Endings (The Christy Miller Series 1-4)24 reviews
Robin Jones Gunn

Bethany House Publishers, 1998

WONDERFUL SERIES!!!!!
I think every girl in the world should read the Christy Miller series! They're great books! The main character goes through things in her life like insecurities, break-ups, issues in relationships...It has a very personal feel, and I admit I felt like I was going everything she was going through. But yeah...I can't really describe it to do it justice. If you read the series, you'll know what ...

Candle in the Darkness (Refiner's Fire Series #1)28 reviews
Lynn Austin

Bethany House Publishers, 2002

An amazing historical novel!
I read this book in 2 days and couldn't put it down last night until I finished it at 2am. The author gave great details on the war and the characters that you feel like you're part of the story. I also like how the character, Caroline Fletcher, stood up for what she believed and still fought to save her family, even though they didn't agreed what she believed in. I also liked how the author ...

Telling Yourself the Truth (Study Guide)27 reviews
William Backus

Bethany House Publishers, 1986

The Truth
This is a wonderful book written by Christian couselors. It teaches a person to re-train their thinking to overcome depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, etc. A lot of people, especially when very young, are given wrong messages about being a bad person or a failure, etc, and it carries through adulthood causing shyness, low self-esteem, etc. This book tells you that those wrong messages are ...

Money Doesn't Grow on Trees: Teaching Your Kids the Value of a Buck25 reviews
Ellie Kay

Bethany House Publishers, 2002

She's done it again!
Ellie is a gold mine of information regarding saving money and spending what we have wisely. I have 3 children and was pulling my hair out trying to teach them that the way to earning money is not by holding your hand out to daddy. I have read this book more times than I can count and have found and implemented many ideas. My 13 year old daughter is not very fond of her actually having to do ...

Gods and Kings (Chronicles of the Kings #1)21 reviews
Lynn Austin

Bethany House Publishers, 2005

Best Ever Historical Novel series based on Scripture!
I pass books on, this series I pass on, but want them back. The stories are rich and not at all trite. Rich spiritually and historically. Great character development. I especially like the novels that have an explanation at the end of where facts were gathered.

Roses for Mama (Women of the West #3)31 reviews
Janette Oke

Bethany House Publishers, 2006

All-Time-Favorite Janette Oke
I first read "Roses For Mama" when I was 13 (many years ago), and was completely "hooked" on this story from the start. I have read it over and over and keep thinking about the characters and events even though it's been about a year since my last read. This is excellent fiction for readers of all ages - particularly for teenage girls, as it provides good moral lessons that are strongly needed ...

The Betrayal28 reviews
Beverly Lewis

Bethany House Publishers, 2003

The Ebersol family has secerets yet revealed.....Great book.
This second book of Abram's Daughter series is another excellent continuation of the first book The Covenant, where Sadie birthed a child telling no one. In this book, Sadie is still extremely depressed and does not want to be one of the Amish people. Leah her younger sister, as well as Lizzie, their aunt, have kept her secret. Leah is in love with Jonas, much more than she ever could be ...
