A truly fantastic picturebook about a group of children
Book four in the "Time Soldiers" series originally created by Robert Gould, Arthur is a truly fantastic picturebook about a group of children called upon to serve the greater good through different amazing eras. Previous storybooks transported them to ages of dinosaurs and pirates; Arthur brings them to the time of Arthur's destiny, and they most dodge villains and even face a greedy, fearsome ...

One Happy Grandma
I was shown this book by a family member just before my grandchildren came to visit from across the country. My grandson is 6 years old and had not yet entered the first grade. All it took was a look at the cover and he was into it. He studied each of the pages and turned to me with a desperate voice (while holding my face with his hands and making me look into his eyes)"TEACH ME TO READ ...

Bridging the Media Gap for Younger Readers
Wow! I grew up back in the 50s when young people's books were often pretty gray and bland in design. But what a difference with Kathleen Duey's Time Soldiers series ---the pages literally jump out at you! Forget about the recommended age, maybe around 12 or so. Any reader will get a jolt out of the digitally enhanced photos --very three and maybe four or five dimensional. The stories keep up ...

Rave Review!
There's not another pirate book out there like this! The illustrations are all absolutely gorgeous photographs. My seven year old son will lie on the floor for hours just staring at the pictures and reading the story over and over. His dad doesn't mind having to read it to him every night because he likes it too! I have to say that part of the reason I'm excited about this book is that it is ...

I got this in a set and my class really enjoyed it. My staff and I had a great time recognizing local locations and personalities. Even the children recognized some of them. they enjoyed the exciting story and have asked for it over and over again. I look forward to more from these exciting writers and so do my children.

My 8 yr old enjoyed it!
I read this book to my six and eight year old boys and my older son liked it so much he read the book on his own a second time a few months later. He has been inspired by books like this and those from Pilkey to create his own books and comics with funny characters and silly 'boy' humor. He is looking forward to the 'Coffee Shop of the Living Dead'.

Spider-man fans will enjoy.
For those young people out there who want to read a Spider-man book rather than a comic book. Excellent quality photo-animation pictures and graphics accompany approximately twelve sentences per page. I enjoyed this book more than I did the movie. A must have for any young fan. Grades 4-8
Leonardo: Time Soldiers Book #8
Big Guy Books, 2009
The eighth action-packed installment in a series about a young team of time travelers, this narrative continues to utilize the highly visual ?movie-book? format that has proven to engage reluctant readers. Recognizing the image of a man they've seen in previous time-jumps, the Time Soldiers become keenly interested in a Leonardo da Vinci sketch they see hanging in a local museum. Attached to the portrait is a note alluding to the glowing green ...
