Great for beginners.
This is the first time I've tried ribbon work and had no difficulty following the directions. It was so easy to understand what to do, and how to do the flowers. Mine all came out lovely at the end! The illustrations are beautiful and inspiring and there are no set projects and directions as to which color/size of ribbon to use and how to put your finished flowers together, it will really ...

I was blown away by this one!
I am a member of the Embroiderer's Guild of America. One of the members in the Chapter was teaching a class one night and very highly recommended this book. I took a look at hers on the spot and decided to get a copy for myself and another stitching buddy. My mother, who is also no stitching slouch couldn't believe her eyes. We had NO idea that there are SSSSSOOOOOO many different stitches to ...

A reference book for using a longarm quilter, the tools I would need and how to load a quilt and setup pantographs for quilting. The book covers all you need to know about how to start your own quilting ...

Excellent Teach Yourself Technique, Great Results
This is probably one of my favorite quilt books. It's extremly easy to follow and teach yourself. I've made several quilts now using this technique and each has come out different yet fantastic. It's such a great way to use a fabric with a pattern that you're not crazy about but might love the colors. I now look at fabric in a whole new way, by forming my fingers into a triangle and seeing ...

The remedy to "Quilt as desired"
I took the third edition of this book out of the library a few years ago, when I was trying to teach myself to expand beyond quilt-in-the-ditch and random meandering around on a quilt top. I learned quite a bit from the third edition before the library demanded that I return their book (Well! the NERVE!). But the fourth edition is a whole 'nother level of instruction, and it's a winner. I ...

Applique Instructions and so much more
This book was purchased for preparation to take a class by the author. Wow, was I thrilled. I have already read the book cover to cover several times and gain new information each time I pick it up. With the detailed instruction and pictures, I think I could master applique without taking the upcoming class. There is so much information in this book, unlike some that I have bought that are ...

tRADITION WITH A tWIST:Variations on your favorite quilts
I visted a beautiful quilt show in February 2010 in Red Wing Minnesota and saw a quilt made from a pattern in this book. I had to purchase it right away. The quilts are easy to make but they look complicated when finished. The next quilt I make will be a pattern from this book. Happy Quilting!

Well Written and Inspirational!
I have been a fan of Rayna's work for awhile now, so when she released this book - I had to have it for my library. Not only is it very detailed and very well written, it is a feast for the eyes as well. Even if you have never tried printing on cloth before, Rayna takes you by the hand and leads you through the process one page at a time. It's foolproof!

Excellent addition to quilting library
I bought this book because it incorporated William Morris designs into quilting projects. I have not yet applied any of the design ideas but find the careful instructions for applique and practical tips really helpful in finishing off projects already started when I bought the book. I have read through the book twice as it is well written and once I pick it up, its hard to put down.

An Excellent Resource
As a freehand embroiderer for more than a couple of decades, I purchased this book a few years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I must admit that I buy books like this as much to enjoy reading as to learn from. Unlike a prior reviewer, I won't criticize Ms. Fahl for having a different artistic vision that I might have--and my work is quite different from hers. So what? This book is ...

Excellent
As a very novice longarm quilter, I am so very happy that I purchased this book! I'm tracing the patterns with a pen and paper (muscle memory)and now have the confidence to begin practice the heat wave patttern on my longarm. I especially value Ms. Maraccini's advice concerning batik fabric. As I am teaching myself how to use the longarm, this book is an enormous resource.
