Your Child in the Balance9 reviews
Kevin T. Kalikow

CDS Books, 2006

very helpful to parents
A thoughtful and helpful book for a complex subject. Dr. Kalikow addresses the decision making process of the parents, the child and the health care professional when choosing how to address the needs of their child. It is written clearly, with humor, compassion and tenderness. I believe parents will be able to make a more educated decision after reading this book.

For all Tiger lovers
Having a great love and passion for the tiger I am yet to find a more comprehensive book on the subject. This book is expertly compiled and consists of all facts regarding tigers. It starts with evolution and origins of the tiger, anatomy of the tiger, its life and conflict with man and other big cats, as well as the myths and ancient world of the tiger. Brilliantly compiled, laid out and ...

The Highwayman: A Novel of Corona37 reviews
R. A. Salvatore

CDS Books, 2004

Salvatore at his best
The Highwayman by R.A. Salvatore is a prequel novel set in his signature world of Corona. This book is a prequel to the highly acclaimed Demon War saga. The first book in the Demon War saga, Demon Awakens, is a fantastic novel and one I think every fantasy fan should read. The beauty of The Highwayman, is that a reader needs not to have read the Demon Wars books to understand anything that occurs ...

Kim West, Joanne Kenen

CDS Books, 2005

Best Book Ever!
This book literally saved my sanity. My son was co-sleeping and practically nursing all night long. Not to mention naps were very difficult. I wasn't getting any sleep until I found this book. I'm a firm believer that every child is unique and you have to do what's right for you so I was able to adjust the method to work for me and my son. It worked miracles. Within a week my son was ...

It's nice to finally have some good background written on City of Heroes. And by one of the best game-related fantasy author, no less. I raced through this book with delight. I hope you will enjoy it.

Orso: The Troll Who Couldn't Scare6 reviews
Brad Thiessen

CDS Books, 2005

Great Picture Book
This story is packed full of good messages for children, good will win over evil, you can be what you want if you try hard enough, your parents will always love you if you stay true to yourself, but it never gives in to sappy sentiment. Plus, Orso the Troll is so darn cute, how can you not root for him. The high point of this picture book are the lavish pictures drawn by Jeremy Balzer. From ...

The Rogue's Hour (Everquest)10 reviews
Scott Ciencin

CDS Books, 2005

Easy and Enjoyable Read
This is the start of the Novelization of the Everquest series, and I, for one, believe it to be up to par with other shared worlds; i.e. Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, and Star Wars. Do no be swayed by the number of pages, or not ever having played Everquest (I didn't know a ting about Everquest till reading this book), or the other reviews here on Amazon. The Rouge's Hour is an easy and ...

Everquest: The Ocean of Tears (Everquest)4 reviews
Stewart Wieck

CDS Books, 2005

Very Readable,
The story is nearly epic in it's scope and yet its not a really long book. I enjoyed reading from the first page to the last and it was also fun as an EverQuest player to see the encounters taking place in familiar territory. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good magic and intrigue adventure story. Even if you don't have a clue about EverQuest you will still find it enjoyable. If ...

Pessimisms: Famous (and not so famous) Observations, Quotations, Thoughts, and Ruminations on What to Expect ...7 reviews
Eric Marcus

CDS Books, 2003

Charming, witty, and the perfect antidote to the news
The author, Eric Marcus, has does a great service with this. I loved the selections, and I really enjoyed his stories about his Aunt Ethel. Despite the title, these are not really pessimistic quotes. Most all the authors get the message across that life may not be easy, but we move on and get through it. Optimism via faux pessimism? Could be. This is one I really enjoyed.

Blog!: How the Newest Media Revolution is Changing Politics, Business, and Culture10 reviews
David Kline, Dan Burstein

CDS Books, 2005

An extremely useful and informative book on an important social trend
This is a collection of short pieces, some written especially for the book and some reprinted from other sources. The authors have also interviewed a number of the more famous bloggers or other people analyzing the trend. This variety makes it an extremely useful introduction to the phenomenon. It certainly isn't a gripping read, but the ideas are fascinating. This is not a how-to book, ...

The Freedom Phalanx (City of Heroes)4 reviews
Robin D. Laws

CDS Books, 2006

Surprisingly good!
I recently finished reading this surprisingly good novel, ,which featured the "City of Heroes" game universe's main characters. I was very surprised at how good it was. I did not expect it to be such a satisfying read as it was. Well worth reading, especially if you are into comic and heroic fiction. I hope Robin Laws is writing another in the series, his storytelling draws you in and makes you ...

Secrets of the Code: The Unauthorized Guide to the Mysteries Behind the Davinci Code5 reviews
Daniel Burstein

CDS Books, 2006

A great Compliment to the Da Vinci Code
Like many people I read the Da Vinci Code and loved it. I couldn't put it down and stop reading it. With the upcoming movie, my interest in the Da Vinci Code has been re-ignited. I was very excited about the Secrets of the Code so that I could better understand the theories that Da Vinci Code presented. I began flipping through it a couple of weeks ago and really enjoy reading it. It really ...

Midway Magic12 reviews
Scott McGaugh

CDS Books, 2004

History That's Entertaining!
I had no idea any ship's crew could be so accomplished! Midway Magic is a friendly read about a unique ship. Crew stories blend nicely with facts and figures. Some periods of time were skipped over, but I often found myself wondering what adventure would next befall the crew. And it's nonfiction! Heartily recommend.
