Gray's Anatomy for Students & Atlas of Clinical Gross Anatomy Package22 reviews
Richard Drake, Kenneth Moses

Churchill Livingstone, 2005

Great text to go with photos.
This book is very helpful when preparing to go in for my lab. It goes step by step through the regions with blood supply, innervation, bones, etc. all in full text, yet it is concise for those short on time. I use this book to prepare for and complete labs and the Atlas of Clinical Gross Anatomy when I am dissecting.

Play Therapy6 reviews
Virginia M. Axline

Churchill Livingstone, 1989

Excellent!
Axline's book is a "must read" for persons interested in play therapy. I have used her book along with the text while teaching at the university level. Her book provides the reader with case studies and practical information. Her writing style is intelligible as well as technical-a rare find!

Anatomy Trains: Myofascial Meridians for Manual and Movement Therapists20 reviews
Thomas W. Myers, Leon Chaitow, ...

Churchill Livingstone, 2001

Easy Reading
A huge topic with tons of minutia that is broken down in an easy reading format. I really liked the way the book is set up. Great way to look at the body as a whole and to start thinking about alternative and complimentary modes of treatment up the kinetic chain that you may not think about before reading this book.

Anesthesiology Review (Anesthesiology Review)(3rd Edition)7 reviews

Churchill Livingstone, 2001

One for the coffee table
I don't normally put my medical textbooks out for display, but I like to use this one as a conversation piece. Each chapter is well reasoned, concise, and suprisingly entertaining. The chapter entitled "Pharmacology of Hetastarch and Pentastarch" had me weeping. Med students - this book will help you fly through boards. Lay people - this book is a suprisingly good read. You know, I don't know ...

The Foundations of Chinese Medicine: A Comprehensive Text for Acupuncturists and Herbalists. Second Edition21 reviews
Giovanni Maciocia

Churchill Livingstone, 2005

For basic concepts on TCM, this book is easy to understand
Highly recommended by some of my professors, I eventually purchased the book and am very happy I did. There are other books in the market explaining basic TCM concepts including diagnosis and meridians / points, but this one seems to do it just that one last bit more clearly - perhaps the fact that it's written by an English speaker is the reason why! It's heavy to carry around and some of the ...

Evidence Based Medicine (3rd Edition)10 reviews
Sharon E. Straus, W. Scott Richardson, ...

Churchill Livingstone, 2005

The standard for teaching EBM
As a physician-teacher of EBM to internal medicine residents, this is the best book I've run across for this purpose. We utilize the reader's guides, first published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal and later in JAMA, written by Guyatt, Sackett, and others, which are perfectly complemented by this volume. I recommend it to all of the residents and have purchased multiple copies for ...

Obstetrics: Normal and Problem Pregnancies: Book with Online Access (Obstetrics Normal & Problem Pregnancies ...5 reviews
Steven G. Gabbe, Joe Leigh Simpson, ...

Churchill Livingstone, 2007

The easier-to-read "Bible" of Obstetrics
There are two texts that are considered the most authoritative on the subject of Obstetrics. Williams is edited by the staff at Parkland, the largest Obstetric hospital in the U.S. and not surprisingly, they consider their text to be "the premier source for the specialty". Williams is also academically dry. Gabbe, by comparison, is easier to read and covers essentially the same material. This ...

Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis18 reviews
James L. Oschman

Churchill Livingstone, 2000

Wow I always new good things were happening
Dr Oschman's "Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis", has put the "science" into what I have experienced. This is a must read for all those energy healers who also like to know that it is not all in the head. I couldn't wait to read the next chapter and then the next. Auriculotherapy Manual: Chinese and Western Systems of Ear Acupuncture9 reviews
Terry Oleson

Churchill Livingstone, 2002

A helpful and user-friendly auriculotherapy guide
This is a well organized and beautifully presented introduction to auriculotherapy. Helpful features for the practitioner include a lay-flat spiral binding (perfect for the classroom/workshop setting, where one can refer to the book while examining a real person's ear), a colorful pull-out chart (with points clearly labeled and easy to read), and points from both the Chinese and French systems. ...

Anesthesia and Co-Existing Disease Fourth Edition (Anesthesia and Co-Existing Disease)8 reviews
Robert K. Stoelting, Stephen F. Dierdorf

Churchill Livingstone, 2002

Excellent for reference and study
This is now the fourth edition of this textbook that the reviewer has purchased. The first edition was the reviewer's companion during the senior year of medical school and residency training, when the appropriate sections were read whenever encountering patients with one of the discussed diseases. The second edition was the reviewer's most-used texbook during preparation for the anesthesiology ...

Gray's Anatomy: The Anatomical Basis of Clinical Practice17 reviews
Susan Standring

Churchill Livingstone, 2004

Amazing work by the authors and illustrators!!!
This is an AMAZING book to say the least. I have to say, that this book is not for someone who is just starting in the medical field, as it is written in complex medical terminology. However, if you are in the medical field, than this book is a great reference. Every section of the body is broken down to the most minute detail. And the illustrations/pictures are absolutely amazing; they make ...

Muscle Energy Techniques with DVD-ROM5 reviews
Leon Chaitow

Churchill Livingstone, 2006

EXCELLENT!
This is the best book I've come across for introducing a novice to the concepts and practice of MET. Chaitow's other books tend to go into very minute detail about the nervous system component of these techniques. This book is very well ordered and the assessments and techniques don't get lost in the minutae. HIs very clear presentation of the far-reaching effects of dysfunction in one part of ...

Diagnosis in Chinese Medicine: A Comprehensive Guide2 reviews
Giovanni Maciocia

Churchill Livingstone, 2004

Excellent TCM Source
This is an excellent book for TCM practitioners. It covers a wide variety of diagnostic techniques all included in one book (rather than having to buy 20 short books with similar info). From face diagnosis, to nail diagnosis, to in depth pattern recognition (for thin necks to swollen ears to stomach aches), Maciocia has included it all. I found the part about using palm lines to show tendencies ...

Practical Diagnosis in Traditional Chinese Medicine5 reviews
Tietao Deng

Churchill Livingstone, 1999

A TCM Diagnostic Dream -come -true!
As a practicing acupuncturist of 12 years and teacher of this artful medicine, I found this book invaluable for both practioners and students of TCM. The wealth of information on examination methods(i.e.: tongue, pulse, abdomen, almost every aspect of facial diagnosis), 10 questions, and more was impressive! The author gives more than enough information to discern what pattern(s)are present and ...

Obstetricas and Gyneocology in Chinese Medicine
As a practitioner, Im always grateful for the contribution Maciocia has made to my profession. His works have an essential place in my library and I refer to them often.
