Construction Manual: Concrete and Formwork2 reviews
T. W. Love

Craftsman Book Company, 1973

Fantastic for the price!
When I first bought this book I wondered if it would be out-of-date. It wasn't. Although there were many tricks I've learned that weren't in the book, I did catch many new formwork techniques from this book. I'd recommend it to anyone learning to set forms on a residential or light commercial construction site.

While it was not the book I expected, it does cover the topic of framing your house in steel very well. It even answers the question of "How do I hang a picture?" :-) This book is for the DIY with a small house or for professionals who want to switch to working with steel. From start to finish, it is framing in steel.

Commercial Metal Stud Framing9 reviews
Ray Clark

Craftsman Book Company, 1999

This book delivers
I am a general contractor that needed good and reliable information on metal framing. This book is well worth the money and has allowed me teach in house crews how to properly work with metal framing components. Roof Framing16 reviews
Marshall Gross

A Must Have Book for Your Construction Library....
I rated this book at 5. It clearly explains the mathematical operations needed to configure various roof types. The Texas Instruments Calculator TI-35 used by the author to walk you through the steps,I acquired via Ebay for $7.50.The TI-35 is no longer manufactured. But Office Depot carries the new Texas Instruments BA-II which also has the necessary function keys for about $32.

2009 National Repair & Remodeling Estimator (National Repair and Remodeling Estimator)2 reviews
Albert S. Paxton

Craftsman Book Company, 2008

Great Place to Start
The one other reviewer missed the point that prices are per foot! Multiply by 30 and he'd be in the ballpark. This is an excellent source book for remodelers looking to establish a reasonable price for a job. You'll still have to do some hand tweaking to cover a few odds and ends, but in general it's all here. Gives cost + and - percentages for major cities in all states. Updated ...
