One of the very best!
I didn't buy my copy through Amazon because it was an impulse purchase and I am so glad it was. It is unfortuante I waited until my 30s to read it. A true classic I'll never tire of reading again and again!

Pocket guide supports HcG diet
This guide has proved indispensable to we who are on the HcL diet. It is indeed a short list of food, but that's what the diet is all about. I would have found the diet much more difficult without it.

Loved it!
this book really helped me through the hcg diet. It gives a lot of recipes and only uses one meat and one vegtable recipes (which is what the diet is supposed to be even though a lot of people mix vegtables together). It gives great tips and the recipes were actually tasty. I plan on using some of them later, but just adding more vegtables.

Mary Shelley

A vivid, wicked, and timeless classic
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is one of most influential books of its time that has become a part of every child's life. Although often misinterpreted due to numerous adaptations and spoofs of the original monster, this groundbreaking gothic novel is still relevant today for its vivid portrayal of human emotions and weighty struggle between moral and dissolute views on human relationships. ...

The "why" and foundation of our US Constitution
This is a MUST READ for all Americans. It is the writings of our Founding Fathers about why the Constitution is written as it is and the dangers of straying from it.

Machiavelli's The Prince
Machiavelli's work came about after the end of his diplomatic career. The contents lay out his reflections on how to rule. He includes such wisdom such as: It is better to be feared than to be loved. He notes two different types of leaders--lions and foxes, and speaks of the implications of each. As he notes in Chapter 18: "A prince must imitate the fox and the lion [and] must be a fox to ...

I absolutely love this book!
I can't believe how long it took me to pick this book up and read it. It was never on any assigned reading lists and it wasn't until a few years after college, when I had more time for pleasure reading, that I started on the unassigned classics that I had missed by having a science-based major. It is one of my top five favorite books and absolutely my favorite classic, topping even Pride and ...

American Apocalypse: The Beginning (Volume 1)

Not with a BANG....but a drawn-out whimper
I am a great reader of apocalyptic and disaster fiction and non-fiction. What interests me the most in this genre are the changes wrought to society and the way individuals cope with this. While most books of this group see one event or an inter-connected cascade of events that causes the collapse of the known society, this book differs in that there is no flash point which starts the slide. ...

Of Sin and Secrets
Is "The Scarlet Letter" worthy of being considered a classic? Why do some love it and some hate it? These are questions that played through my mind when I picked up this book. I'm a fan of some of Hawthorne's short stories--"Ethan Brand," "The Bosom Serpent," "Young Goodman Brown," among others--but I found his novel, "The House of the Seven Gables," long and plodding. Boy, was I in for a ...

The great storytelling continues
As an early addict to nova's writing on various blogs [...] a great econ/finance resource by the way) I have followed the storyline faithfully. As another reviewer pointed out there are editing flaws but don't let that stand in the way of your enjoyment as book 1 and now book 2 feature some truly wonderful storytelling. Book 2 features some more character development with some unexpected twists ...

Beauty is only skin deep
I loved the idea that someone's true nature can be portrayed on a canvas. Although a beatiful young man, Dorian finds that his debauchery and sin are not reflected by the state of his own body, but by the image cast in a painting. As Dorian continues his decline in morals, an interesting question arises. Kind of a "which came first, the chicken or the egg" type of thing. Was his soul corrupted by ...

Frederick Douglass

Essential American Classic
Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass is one of the few books that every American should read and is also essential for anyone even remotely interested in American history, African Americans, or slavery's sad story. It is a fine piece of writing in itself and also of immense historical value - a true American classic. The most obvious aspect is of course autobiographical. American ...

Great Supplement!
These CD's are a great supplement for the book. If you want to immerse yourself in Napoleon Hill and the techniques that most use to build their programs upon, then buying the book AND the CD's will immerse you in his belief structure. You must be willing to believe and practice what is taught to you. There is no magic "pill" to riches, but your mind controls everything that happens to you. This ...

Didn't expect to like it but I did!!!
I have to disagree with the previous posters who gave S.E.A.L. Team Omega 1 star reviews. I loved every minute of this action-packed, roller coaster ride, nail-biting, gasp-worthy military thriller. The author has revised and edited the novel as of this date, so the version that I had the pleasure of reading was not bogged down with typographical errors. But I must say, even New York times ...

Be Careful of Edition
BEWARE: Because of the popularity of Arc Manor's Special Student Edition of The Prince (which is taught at schools all over the US, priced at $3.99), some competitors are trying to pass off cheap imitations of the book by giving it the same name ('Special Student Edition'). Please note that the correct Arc Manor original edition has a light brown cover with a light image of the crest of the ...

Wow, picked it up last night and I HAD TO FINISH THIS!!!!!
Well. i haven't read a real non-picture book in a while. But, after getting a copy of this book i briefly read the first 2 or 3 paragraphs, however, by the last sentence, i had to keep reading this book. The character is awesome, the pace of the book did not bore me at all. I refused to sleep last night and read the entire book when i got home from work. The story took me to a very dark place ...

Best Book for the Intermediate or Advanced Golfer!!!
I bought this book a couple of weeks ago. Reading the other reviews and the Camilo Villegas quote directed to the weekend golfer, I had no doubt this was a great book but I was skeptical it was also good for intermediate or advanced golfers. I am an 8 handicap and without a doubt, this book was the biggest surprise I have had in a long time. I have played golf since I was a kid, practice ...
