This is the one.
If you are looking for a book to help you plan your shorter day hikes, this is the one.I bought 3 books on hiking in Glacier but "Glacier Day Hikes" was the best. This book gave me the information I needed to determine which hikes would get me to the best shots in Glacier in a relatively short period of time.

Against the Grain
I love the work of Henry Holdsworth. For almost seven years I've had a 20 by 30-inch print by him hanging on my wall. It shows a herd of bison moving up an S-shaped creek bed in Yellowstone Park in a snowstorm. The colors are muted and condensed into a narrow range of light that provides a subtle contrast to the huge beasts. A similar picture appears on the cover of Holdsworth?s portfolio of ...

A Lovely 'Picture' of Wyoming Cuisine
This ia a beautiful book. The photographs alone are worth the purchase. Pam's recipes and the comments included from other Wyoming writers make A TASTE OF WYOMING a keeper. It is so lovely, I jot the recipes down before using them, so I don't have to take the book into my often messy and always busy kitchen.

Who Pooped in the Park? Yellowstone National Park (Who Pooped in the Park?)

If you are taking a kid into the park, buy this book!
Lighthearted and fun, this book manages to be highly informative without bogging down. I grew up wanting to be a "true" woodsman, but every book on tracking and animal scat identification I have ever seen reads like a college textbook -- certainly no fun for a kid to read. This one is different. Written as the story of a family visiting Yellowstone Park, "Who Pooped?" hits all the bases. ...

poop review
Wonderful book. Very informative for young children without being too grossly informative. Wish there had been a wider variety among all the books. Children noticed same animals in every book. There were many more animals that could have been used. Would have been informative to compare animals that were different but belonged to the same family of animals. Book held the interest of the ...

This series of books is Great!
I have now read this book for both Glacier and Rocky Mountain National Parks. They are fun for adults and great for getting children to notice the "signs" around them. I highly recommend this book.
Glacier National Park, The First 100 Years

The story of Glacier National Park has been millions of years in the making. Visit the land before it was a park, when the Blackfeet, Kootenai, Gros Ventre, Assiniboine, Pend d“Oreille, and Bitterroot Salish tribes called the Crown of the Continent home. Experience this place when the Blackfeet first acquired horses and guarded the passes and hunting grounds from rival tribes. See the land as the Kootenai did when they held their spiritual ...

Evelyn Cameron: Montana's Frontier Photographer
Kristi Hager
Farcountry Press, 2007
Born in 1868 to a wealthy British family, Evelyn Cameron traded privilege for adventure, the lush English countryside for the austere eastern Montana badlands, a lavish estate for a tiny homestead shack. Often riding twenty to ...

Grand Tetons - Grand Views
This book really shows the majesty of the Grand Teton area. When I view the pictures in the book it takes me back to the week that we spent in this georgeous area of America. The book is a great souvenir of our trip. If you can't visit this area of the country then the book will give you a great idea of what it is really like.
