Poorly written and provides bad advice
I was forced to buy this book for my MBA studies, and worse than paying the ridiculous price asked for it, I had to endure reading it too. This book is very poorly written, sentences are strangely structured, with multiple repetitions and redundancies making for a very annoying reading. Besides that, the authors seem to hold 'managers' in very low esteem as far as their trustworthiness and ...

Not for United States investors
Talk about a lousy investment. I paid $35 for this book and it is very short and - guess what - it's for people in the UK not for Americans. So - totally useless. I wish I knew a Brit I could give it to.

Now this is a good textbook
This was a simply stated book that gave common sense examples. The chapters were easy to understand without having to have your professor explain everything. There are a couple of chapters that seem like they should be reorganized, and a couple of chapters that should be put in a different order. Overall though, this is a very good book to help you understand Human Resource Management.

The book helps reader to get a better understanding of ...

Business as usual ? Funk that !
This book is about the funky (business) world we are living in. All three books written by the authors are such a pleasure to read ... so informative ... unconvential ... and non-conform. The reader will take many notes about funky business is truly global, working values, globally linked society, senseless supply, deregulated life, tribalisation, innovation etc. We live in a winner takes all ...

Business questions that make you think and promote dialogue

Short and sweet
I have read many management books, and many are great. However, what I like most about this book is that it is short and sweet. You can open it at any chapter, read it while having your first cup of coffee, and get some ideas (or reminders) about why you are a manager and why your employees are not. Each short chapter addresses a separate management issue. Sometimes we're so busy being ...
