The Alchemy of Love: The Pilgrimage of Sacred Discovery (The Men's Spirituality Series)4 reviews
Robert Boldman

Heartsfire Books, 1997

Those on the dedicated spiritual path will want to read this
A second reading of this book has underscored for me the incredible depth of the material presented. Alchemy of Love brings home the universal truth that each person's journey is an individual one, yet the process of soul transformation is the same for all. Any person attempting the undeniably arduous climb into divinity will recognize the earmarks of a true initate telling his story, and ...

Hermanos De LA Luz: Brothers of the Light (Heartsfire Spirituality Series)1 review
Ray John De Aragon

Heartsfire Books, 1998

This is an excellent book on New Mexico history and culture!
The author has done a great job of researching the Penitente Brotherhood! This little known and misunderstood group of religious men have been malinged and misrepresented by many previous writers. This book finally brings to light the spirituality and deep religious devotion of these followers of the teachings and Passion of Jesus Christ. It also corrects much of the misinformation that has ...

I my years of hospice work I have wished for such a book
Mr. Boldman has skillfully created a readable, well-researched text that will benefit both clinical professional and lay readers who are interested in learning more about the near-death experience and its impact on the individual. Spirituality for the Business Person: Inner Practices for Success (Heartsfire Spirituality Series.)1 review
Claude Saks

Heartsfire Books, 1998

Valuable book
This is a book I saw on the shelf at the public library. As I thumbed through it, put it down, and wrote it on my list to pick up at Amazon.Unlike some business books regarding spirituality, Saks writes from a grounded perspective, both both feet firmly on the ground. I highly recommend it.

Message from the Sparrows: Engaging Consciousness5 reviews
Taylor Morris

Heartsfire Books, 1997

Great book about "waking up"
A great introduction to Sufism, and the concepts that Gurdjieff and Ouspenksy (not sure of my spelling there) explored. I really enjoyed all the stories and concepts of waking up, or the exoteric versus the esoteric. The book really helped me "wake up" a little more. And, the fact that is has a storyline, and is filled with small stories, makes it easy to stay with. Highly recommended.

Gifts from the Spirit: A Skeptic's Path (Spirituality series)1 review
Dennis F. Augustine

Heartsfire Books, 1997

Inspiring Personal Story -about a real spiritual awaking!
I loved the book when I first got a copy back in 1997 - it is hard to belive that it is almost 10 years since this book first hit the market. I thought it would skyrocket to become a huge sucess - but I am sure that whoever read it got something of great value out of it. This book takes you along for the ride of your spirtual life, as the good doctor expands his thinking and awareness and ...

Solitude: The Art of Living With Yourself3 reviews
John Selby

Heartsfire Books, 1998

I thought this book was written about me.
As I started reading "Solitude" I felt more comfortable with each page I turned. It was like sinking into a big easy chair without any worries or troubles. I felt like the book was written about me. So many feelings, about being alone and enjoying it were confirmed that we must learn to be happy with ourselves. I have just gone through the worst two years of my life and somehow, within myself, ...

Health for Life: Secrets of Tibetan Ayurveda (Healing Series)1 review
Robert Sachs

Heartsfire Books, 1998

Interesting, but suspicious.
This may be a good compendium about the subject, but step lightly. I got this book hoping to learn about some qigong/yoga-like exercises known as "the 5 tibetans" and they are indeed featured. The book is well put together. I noticed one section before the above exercises mentioning "Tibetan Tai Chi" - and there is no such thing. It's like saying "Australian Bluegrass". I visited the web site ...

In the Presence of My Enemies: Memoirs of Tibetan Nobleman Tsipon Shuguba (Men's Spirituality Series)
Sumner Carnahan, Lama Kunga Rinpoche

Heartsfire Books, 1998

The Tibetan catastrophe - the brutal ongoing campaign to stamp out every trace of Tibetan identity, culture, and civilisation - continues unchecked after more than 35 years. His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama of Tibet writes: "This is an important book. The story must be told." In 1991, at their first meeting in thirty years, the Dalai Lama urged his former finance minister to complete his story about Tibet as it was and about what happened ...

Inescapable Journey: A Spiritual Adventure1 review
Claude Saks

Heartsfire Books, 1995

I Couldn't Put It Down....!
I thought this was a fascinating autobiographical story of a very successful business man, who has a heart attack at a young age, and thus goes through an amazing spiritual transformation. He travels to many exotic places, and adopts the Buddhist life style and religion, which by the way, is a very wonderful, wise, and tranquil path of spirituality. It held my interest to the end, and I highly ...

Tibet: Enduring Spirit, Exploited Land (Heartsfire Spirituality Series)
Robert Z. Apte, Andres R. Edwards

Heartsfire Books, 1998

TIBET: Enduring Spirit, Exploited Land describes the traditional lives of nomads and farmers and their practices in co-existing with the environment. The environmental ethic developed by the Tibetans over millenia now threatened by Chinese development practices has gained increased significance for the world as the population increases and its dependence on the natural resources reaches its limits.
