The Walking Dead Volume 8: Made To Suffer (Walking Dead)20 reviews
Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, ...

Image Comics, 2008

Wow.
A week ago I bought volume 1 of The Walking Dead. The next day, I bought volumes 2-5. The next day I bought 6-8. This series, is relentless, disturbing, heart-breaking and fantastic in every possible horror way. Fans of zombies, survival horror, clever writing, beautiful art or just good old fashioned loss of humanity, would be seriously remiss to pass on this series.

How to Make Webcomics9 reviews
Scott Kurtz, Kris Straub, ...

Image Comics, 2008

Excellent, though very americanized
Not many books manage to give a decent introduction to combining being an artist and a businessman. Guigar, Kellett, Kurtz and Straub do this excellently. I bought this book because I'm writing a Master's thesis on webcomics -- and "How to make webcomics" will definitely be quoted heavily in it -- but reading this book also gave me a renewed interest in making my *own* webcomic. The best ...

The Walking Dead Book 3 (Walking Dead)8 reviews
Robert Kirkman

Image Comics, 2008

The dead still walk...
The third hardcover collection of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead finds former cop Rick Grimes and his crew of survivors having made their prison home zombie-free and completely settling in to their surroundings. Things are pretty much okay until they notice a helicoptor in the sky crashing in the distance. Soon enough, Rick, Michonne, and Glen are lead to a small, hidden community run by a ...

Robert Kirkman

Image Comics, 2007

Great series!
This is my new fave series. Can't get enough. If you love romero, things undead, or just character based work, you'll really dig this. I've gotten all 3 hardcovers and now mope about till the new issue hits newsstands. Recommend getting the hc for easy access to all the gooey stuff inbetween. Cover art in the back is a plus. Just go ahead and order it already.

The Walking Dead, Vol. 6: This Sorrowful Life11 reviews
Robert Kirkman

Image Comics, 2007

Kirkman ramps up the danger and raises the stakes
Volume 6 is titled This Sorrowful Life and Kirkman sure does hit it right on the nail with the title. The book tells the second half of the story arc begun in volume 5. To recap in the previous volume Rick and his group make way to investigate a crashed helicopter only to run into another group of survivors who have holed up in the partially walled off and fortified town of Woodbury. Whatever joy ...

Scudlicious
I won't bother telling you how great Scud is, if you've never read it, BUY NOW!! High action, great references, original story and characters, and a story teller that gets you invested in the characters. The panels.. fluid and swift. This is a hard one to set down. The quality is great! I was thrilled when my copy came in. You can't not read it, and everyone should own it!

Fell Vol. 1: Feral City18 reviews
Warren Ellis

Image Comics, 2007

the Stephen King of Comics
Warren Ellis and Ben Templesmith have been around awhile. Warren is famous for his over the top horror and thriller type comics and Ben got famous for his incredible art with the original 30 Days of Night. And while this book has no vampires it has everything you would come to expect from these two masters. Warren delivers a great tale or I should say tales of Detective Fell and Ben creates ...

The Walking Dead Vol. 4: The Heart's Desire24 reviews
Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard, ...

Image Comics, 2005

love it
You know, this series may have its flaw, but after all is said and done, its really good. The artwork is a beautiful black and white, shadows just come alive. The story is a human one, though grounded in this apocalyptic world. It's dark. It's edgy. It's pretty great.

Invincible: Ultimate Collection Volume 3 (Invincible)6 reviews
Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley

Image Comics, 2007

Bravo!
I have a simple way to review a story, does it keep me turning the pages with excitement to see what happens next? Invincible Vol 3 (vols 1 & 2 also) does just that. The characters are compelling, the twists are fun, the art is fantastic. The only down part is waiting for Vol 4!
