An Above-Average Book on a Difficult Subject
Let's get this out of the way first - "Incredible Comic Book Women" is not the only book you'll ever need in order to draw comic book women well. No single such book exists. Okay, now that we've cleared the air, "Incredible Comic Book Women" is probably the best book out there specifically dealing with how to draw the women of comics. Christopher Hart has written a book on the subject (How to ...

Great book
This is a great book on mechanical design. I like how the author shows a multitude of techniques with a small set of tools. There's lots of examples with clear and concise descriptions, and lots of unique designs to learn by. The book is beginner friendly, but will have something for the experienced artist as well.

Awesome and inspiring
I bought this book hoping it would have some far out imagery to inspire me. I was not disappointed. Gary Tonge is a talented digital artist and his creative streak really shows through. This is not, however, much of a how to book. The examples are brief step by steps. If you're looking for a PhotoShop how too book, this is not the book for you. But if you love SciFi art and like to have ...

A must for every comic illustrator whether amateur or pro
Probably one of the very best books about perspective creation. Takes the reader from the initiation level to the most serious professional one by a series of step-by-step tutorials. It is a must for every comic illustrator, whether US realistic style, European (Belgian) "clear line" realistic or humoristic illustrator, or manga-style. The only point not covered by this manual is shadows but, on ...

Thorough and clear.
I have been coloring for years, writing professionally for about 5 years, and teaching Photoshop coloring for the past two. I didn't think there would be much I could get from this book but I picked it up to see how the information was organized and presented. There are a few points that I disagree with but overall, this is an amazing resource for beginner and intermediate colorists. I ...

Amazing
I have owned quite a few drawing or "How-to-Draw" books and have seen many but "Draw Furries" is much different. Many of the other books were very complicated and black and white other than a few pictures. "Draw Furries" not only helped me to get the concept, but also did it in a simple and fun way. The art is not only AMAZING but the colors make you feel confident. Also, there are many things in ...

Terrific instruction on drawing expressions
The book uses cartoon faces to show you how to express emotions. Because expressions are more extreme in cartoons, you learn what to do easily. I plan to use these skills in making drawings for carving caricature figures. Neat stuff.

This is an idea book, not a technique book
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RMYPK3M2E2IZE First of all, let me say that this book brings back memories of me playing Magic The Gathering cards. A lot of the illustrations in the book are from Wizards of the Coast. Francis Tsai is a concept artist and you can find his work on [...]. This book is not really on art techniques, there are no step-by-step tutorials to follow ...

Dracopedia
I just bought this book, and it is truly amazing. As a Dragon artist, drawing dragons in a realistic light, I have been frustrated with other book on drawing dragons. This book covers many different types of dragons though out history and various cultures, including the actual history of each dragon as mentioned in its culture. Using both illustration and comments you get a real feel for each ...

Essential
One of things first things to do while getting started as an artist is to build as big a reference library as possible. The utility of the classic "morgue" can never be emphasized enough. First it is an essential element in studying poses, people, expressions, and learning from it. Particularly for the self-taught, in the absence of regular life drawing, and drawing from models, the reference ...

Expands On Previous Hi-Fi Book
This is a great sequel to Hi-Fi Color for Comics which I felt was a very informative digital coloring manual. There is a section of this book which explains how to use the Flats Channel to another degree to help give your project a more "animation" type feel. Also this book goes into more detail in how to render a figure's overall appearance to show the subtlety needed to give your character a ...

So complete!!
This author did not leave out a single step. I was impressed and surprised at the artist's willingness to share so thoroughly the process of creating a great piece of work. Kudos! and thank you for helping the aspiring artists of the world so unselfishly.

Best caricature book by far
I read thru the entire book and then went thru it again. The book is informational and contains all the elements that go into a very good caricature. If you follow along as you read with a pencil and paper you should be quite an accomplished caricaturist when you finish this book. I most highly recommend this book, it is a must have for any caricature artist or cartoonist.
