Your Perfect Right
This is such a great book. It was actually one of my text books in college, used in one of my HUS electives. I gave it to a friend who I thought needed it and then bought two more copies 1 for my personal enjoyment and then a copy for a guy at church that made soup look nervous. Great book!

It works if you work It.
Ellis is in a select class of thinker. I always get something positive out of all of his books. There are a lot of feel good books out there and I have read many of them. You feel good when you read them, like church revival meetings, but there are no tools for lasting changes. Raw, raw, raw your great, think big, the sky's the limit and on and on. Leave the cash and good luck is what you get ...

The Practical Therapist Series
While Dr. Ellis has already published many popular books on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), this book from "The Practical Therapist Series" is targeted to doctors qualified to practice psychotherapy, who have no time to read lengthy popular books. While the audience of this hardcover is health care professionals, I, not being a medic myself, found this work pleasant to read and easy to ...

such a wonderful book!
Out of all of the books which talk about different relationship issues, this is the only one that I have found which helps people to realize their contributions to all relationships in their lives, whether they be marital relationships or friendships or even business relationships. There are tools for communicating very well with yourself and others, so that one truly has a feeling for ...

Great basic exercises that can be adapted
I purchased this book while in grad school because I had a difficult time developing my own ideas. I have to say that I still reference this book when I need a quick activity. Although the activities are designed for chlldren I have had great results tailoring them for adults and older adults. This can be a good basic resource to build on.

Surviving Your Child's Divorce
The author, Marsha Temlock, was inspired to write this book based on personal experience. I read an article in the New York Times ("My Child's Divorce Is My Pain" September 2, 2007, also in Boston Globe) telling her story and felt I had to read this book. As divorce becomes more common and parents live longer, they are more and more involved in the breakup of their children's marriage. This is a ...

I have tons of tabs marking the best pages and she gave so much information it really did cover a lot of areas. Standing up for yourself doesn't mean being nasty.
I read this book just around the time I started to build my own tax practice. Why? Only because my first corporate client was Stanlee Phelps' Career Concerns. And it seemed wise to read my client's book. What an eye-opener! For someone starting out on their own (man or woman), it was THE best book I could have picked up. Stanlee Phelps and Nancy Austin provided tangible information about ...

A must-read!
It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend How to Fail as a Therapist. Rarely, indeed, does a small book contain such large volume of relevant clinical information. It spans orientations and levels of training/experience on the therapist's side, and diagnoses/ exposure to therapy on the side of clients. As noted by the authors, as well as reviewers on the back cover, this manual is intended ...
