Discovering Algebra: An Investigative Approach (Discovering Mathematics)1 review
Jerald Murdock, Ellen Kamischke, ...

Key Curriculum Press, 2002

An EXCITING approach to mathematics
This is an easy textbook to recommend because it made me feel excited about learning math. I studied first year Algebra a long time ago, but sometimes, like when I see a textbook such as this one, I wish I could re-live the first experience all over again and this time do it right. If I had the chance to do that then this is the book I would want to have in my hands. There are a lot of algebra ...

Beautiful Geometry Projects
If you love symmetry, you'll love Geometry and The Geometer's Sketchpad. Once you get the hang of using this program, it is the absolute best learning tool for the subject of Geometry. Everything is neatly displayed ...

Ted Herr, Ken Johnson

Key Curriculum Press, 2001

Problem Solving Strategies: Crossing the River with Dogs an
I had to purchase this book for a Class I was taking at Sam Houston State University. It is an excellent book to help learn problem solving strategies. Although, I am an elementary education major with a math specialization and had to take this class, I would recommend this book to anyone who is planning to teach grades 1 through 12. This book was designed for middle school grades, but could ...

Calculus: Concepts and Applications4 reviews
Paul A. Foerster

An excellent book from an excellent teacher.
This book made a difficult subject (calculus) easy to understand through its effective use of diagrams, examples, and word problems. I would not have been able to survive Calculus BC AP without it.

Statistics in Action: Understanding a World of Data3 reviews
Ann E. Watkins, Richard L. Scheaffer, ...

Key Curriculum Press, 2007

Statistics in Action - the title is true!
This is a wonderful statistics book if you are teaching AP Statistics or an introductory college course or if you hated statistics in college and want to give the subject a second chance. Before you even get into the first formula, the authors provide a REAL set of data, involving an accusation of age discrimination. The rookie learner is immediately DOING statistics and the authors do not stop ...

Miquon + Cuisenaire Rods - A Way to REALLY Understand Math!

Michael Serra

Best Geometry Book Ever
This geometry book is clearly written, has interesting visuals, usea excellent teaching strategies, and is simply the best book available. Patty Paper Geometry3 reviews
Michael Serra

Key Curriculum Press, 1994

Math Teachers gives this "Two Thumbs Up!"
This is an exceptional book that really gets kids interested in the geometric relationships and properties AND ALLOWS STUDENTS TO DISCOVER... After working with this book for a few lessons on Angle Properties, students begged to "do patty paper!" for every geometry lesson. Very do-able for teachers who have never used patty paper. Comes with great worksheets that corresponded well with my ...

Discovering Advanced Algebra2 reviews
Jerald Murdock, Ellen Kamischke, ...

A Better Angle on Algebra
This book is part of the "Discovering..." series by Key Press. We are a homeschooling family and had used Discovering Geometry previously. What we like about the series is that it makes math meaningful by connecting principles with practical applications. A software component(Geometer's Sketchpad) is available which can be used to enhance some of the lessons in both geometry and algebra. ...

fantastic
A wonderful tool to understand better the possibilities of Zome kits. I would say it is ideal for a math lovers who are at least 12 years old, for them to work well with Zome. Not everything in the book will be comprehensible in the first shot, but it's the kind of book a young Math lover is meant to grow with.

First Grade Diary2 reviews
Lore Rasmussen, Robert Hightower

You'll need this book to really understand and teach Miquon
I am not a homeschooler but bought the Miquon books to give my children a a good start in math with some extra home learning activities and also so that I can understand how to help them with school homework (They use "Everyday Math" at school.) I'm a smart person in a very technical, logical career field who did horribly in grade school and high school math and the math section of standardized ...
