The best textbook on algorithms, but it is not a programming book.
I used this book for a graduate level Algorithms course, and I really liked it. It is packed full of content on a wide range of topics. While this book does provide some high-level implementations of algorithms in pseudo-code, you will not find any examples of how to program algorithms in this book. That's really not what this book is meant for anyways. I found the reading to be easier than ...

Clearly written College Text
Chang's 9th edition has been reviewed by the College Board as one of the approved AP Chemistry texts. The text incorporates the complete AP Chemistry curriculum "Following the tradition of the previous eight editions, the newest Raymond Chang Chemistry is still readable and logically organized; thus it is very appropriate for AP Chemistry." -College Board Review The newest edition has ...

Excellent College-Level Introductory Chemistry Book
Although this book essentially starts from scratch, I'd recommend it to people who have already had high school chemistry. If you haven't had that, you should still do okay, but you may have to spend some extra time and effort since some of the most basic concepts are only skimmed over. They spend much more time on the material that you probably didn't cover in depth in high school chemistry. ...

Used In College
I actually just took my final for this course 10 min ago. Took this course and used this book in my junior year of college. Book was good but extremely dry. It does explain the nuts and bolts of orgo in a precise and direct manner. Chapters are pretty long averaging about 40 pages each. Within chapters there are practice problems that are very helpful, I suggest buying this with the problem ...

A great learning tool
AP revealed is a serious help. It's a digital dissection of an actual cadaver and it goes thorugh all the layers from skin down to bones. The body and its parts are viewable from all angles and everything is labeled with bullets. This is almost a must have for any AP student. There is a free demo at their website, I bet if you try it, you'll be back to buy it

Essential College Text
I studied this book for my college anatomy and physiology class. Of course, you need this book to study--without it I would have been lost. There is so much information in this book, makes anatomy and physiology a little easier to learn. Other recommenations: I also used Martini's Anatomy and Physiology Textbook as an additonal source. This book filled in the gaps, pictures/digarams ...

Well Written...Easy to Follow...Superb Textbook
I am in college, currently taking my 2nd term of Anatomy and Physiology as a pre-requisite for nursing school. This textbook has been fundamental to my understanding of this course, both for this term and last term (and I plan to use it next term, as well). The clincher is that this is not the required text we are using for my class. A friend just happened to give me this Saladin book when ...

Updating Review...
I gave 1 out of 5 stars to this book on my previous review based on the fact that my professor assigned a lot of homeworks, and many of them I found that there were no discussions/ or no related concepts represented in the book. Several of questions ask about the problems that the author never mentions in his text. I found myself in desperate situation with those questions, so I purchased a ...

this book saved my life
So there I was, 18 years old, having been raised on a toxic stew of MS-BASIC, Apple II assembly and some MPW Pascal. My mind was poisoned. Everything I knew about programming was wrong. I read book after book on programming and CS, but none of them really seemed to make a real dent in my style. Enter SICP. In a few months, this book reshaped my concept of what it meant to program a ...

GOOD GRAPHICS, FOCUS TOO NARROW, INFURIATING ANCILLARY MATERIALS
I am a College Biology professor. Biology textbooks are far better, in general, than they were a couple of decades ago. This book is no exception. In spite of the flaws listed below, it is considerably better than anything I used as a student. For a basic introduction to the human body for a person who had never had ANY biology, it is fairly well-presented. However, this is clearly an ...

Math teacher replies
The book did a good job of giving examples and getting to the point. I took a class on the same material with a different book and this book won hands down. The questions are down to the point. They also have interesting facts on everything in the sides of the page.

Amazing
An amazing book if you want a great overview of nutrition with attention to current policies and recommendations. There are numerous supplements on special topics throughout the book. I have already recommended this book to every other student in my nutrition program. I would like to point out that this book does not describe the biochemical detail of the nutrients and other topics - get ...

New edition retains strengths of the previous edition
I have taught two semesters of college level physical science from this textbook (7th ed.), and I think it continues to find the right balance between depth and breadth. Tillery does a nice job of integrating four massive scientific fields (physics, chemistry, astronomy, and earth science). Given the ambitious scope of the text, he provides a nice introduction to each of these disciplines. ...
