Really interesting resource!
I liked the information this book offered, particularly because I believe it would be helpful to anybody teaching children--educators, parents, tutors, etc. You don't have to have a certain curriculum package to make this work. I LOVE having resources around that you don't have to read cover to cover. This is one that you can look up what you have questions on. Sometimes, when a student ...

Suspenseful Ghost Story
To this day, many years later, this book still stands out in my mind from the D. J. Dillion adventure series. D.J., Alfred, and Kathy are invited to stay at a mansion on the edge of town to try to locate Grandpa, who is missing after investigating the area. Soon after dark, D. J. and Alfred see the ghost that haunts the area. Then D.J. hears its footsteps in the room, but doesn't see a thing. ...

Great Book!
This book tells about the joys and struggles of Mother Teresa. It tells about her childhood, how she announced she wanted to be a nun, and about the children of India. She sets up a hospital for injured people, visits lepars and more. This book tells of how Mother Teresa lived, and what she sacrificed. This book is awesome and I recommend it to anyone.

Take this book to a desert island.
This is one of the few books I would reread over and over. It clears the clutter of some traditions we accept uncritically and returns us to a cogent, biblical theology. It is sound in theory and practical in its application. It is one of my favorite, most helpful books in my large library.
Four Trojan Horses

Harry Conn
Mott Media (MI), 1982
Excellent Book on Humanism
In his book, Harry Conn gives the reader a crystal-clear definition of humanism as a "religion without God." He points out that humanism is not "humaneness" but "the most inhuman philosophy ever concocted on our Lord's green earth." Based upon a solid, logical and philosophical foundation, this book proceeds to show, in well-defined terms, hos humanism has crept into psychology, sociology, ...

A beautiful story for both children and adults
This is one of the best books you could possibly share with your kids. My fifth grade teacher also read this to us, and she cried, and we all cried, too. I've never forgotten it. I borrowed it from her when I was in high school, and then forgot about it and it lay in a dusty box for several years. When I found it again, I wanted to keep it, but knew that she should share it with her other ...

A simple, straightforward plan for teaching your child
It seems like the most effective ways to teach children are often the most easy to overlook. This wonderful book shows parents and teachers how to utilize simple, low-cost means to give their young children a strong start in learning. This book has been most helpful in our homeschooling adventure and was key in pulling this over-achieving, by-the-book teaching mother away from the need to ...
George Washington Carver: Man's Slave Becomes God's Scientist (Sower Series) (Sower Series)

Excellent For Younger Kids
I bought this as a gift for my niece last Christmas. It was admittedly an attempt to expose her to other cultures and achievements. The best compliment was paid as she described the book to her teacher, who asked that she bring this in to read it to the class. I read this and its a good explanation of a brilliant man who thrived in his time. A good read for kids of any background.

Great History Lesson
This is a book that my mom read to me when I was a kid and I have read to my kids and we have all thouroughly enjoyed. Unlike most books about historical figures, the Sower Series includes the faith that was so very important to each and every one of the people written about. What a truly awesome way to show our kids the real history of our Nation. One Nation, Under God!

From a Layman's Point of View
From where I sit, this packet of booklets (theory and practice) is ideal for what I am seeking. I inherited several fountain pens from both my father and my grandfather, and became interested in using them with a degree of skill. My penmanship is improving, and my respect for the equipment is deepening. The current publisher has added a Preface that helps put the information in context. I ...

Great Book!
Love the way Ruth Beechick has put her books together. This is a great study tool and worth it's weight in gold. How cleverly she joined history and compiled it into a non exhaustive book. I highly recommend it!

language, thinking and more for everyone
This manual can be used for the entire family. The author's give real-life examples and, thus, make learning fun. For example, when one is introducing someone, my children dressed as an older person, a dad and mother. They would then practice introducing several people in orderof importance. I.E. older people first, ladies and then men. The author's suggested doing this as a way to add fun to ...

PRICELESS Spelling Resource
We are long time homeschoolers, and I have two published homeschool books. We have used this FOREVER - our oldest is 21! Use this great resource to find out what grade level your child is in spelling and also to test and teach the most commonly used words.
Isaac Newton: Inventor, Scientist, and Teacher (Sower Series) (Sower Series)

Highly Recommended
This book should be placed in the adult section at church in addition to the children's section. These days new books are coming out claiming Newton to have been a deist and to have dabbled in alchemy, while his Christianity has been completely ignored. This book blows the covers off of those myths. Newton is shown to have been a dedicated Christian believer as well as a dedicated scientist. ...

WONDERFUL Parent-Teacher Manual for the ORIGINAL McGuffey Eclectic Readers
This is a wonderful parent-teacher manual that correlates beautifully with the Original McGuffey Eclectic Readers Series (the one re-published by MOTT MEDIA in 1982). A MUST-HAVE for homeschoolers! I love readers - so even though we use My Father's World homeschool curriculum, I supplement with these and other readers (although I must admit that these McGuffey readers and this teacher manual is ...
