CPT-Plus 2009 REVIEW
So far.....so good! We are a chiropractic office and although I haven't had to use it very much yet.....it's good to know it's THERE! Honestly, if you have employees that are not as "medical-knowledgeable" as you'd like....it is an AWESOME tool for them to read and learn from! Use it! The glossary in the back is worth it!

FINALLY SOME GOOD ADVICE ON CHOOSING A DOCTOR
Author Hal Alpiar teaches consumers how to ask the right questions when choosing a physician for themselves or a family member. We are careful about choosing banks, restaurants, mechanics, but too many of us simply put our trust in anyone with an M.D. degree.

Useful handbook.
This handy compendium contains over 1,500 acronyms, e.g., AIDS, SIDS, GOMER "Get Out of My Emergency Room" (not really, just kidding), eponyms such as Lyme disease and Reye syndrome, and multiple meanings for such abbreviations as "MH", which can mean malignant hyperthermia, marital history, medical history, melanophore hormone, menstrual history, mental health, or municipal hospital! Delong's ...
Y2K Compliance Manual for the Medical Office

A necessary evil for every medical practice
I knew going into this book that we had to do something to prepare our practice for Y2K but thought that the majority of problems were isolated to our internal systems. After reading through this manual, my eyes were opened to the real problems that we face. Sure, our own computers and systems still need to be tested but it is our ability to respond to issues that develop with outside ...

An Excellent Medical Transcription Reference
Being in the medical transcription field having to look up new words and decipher dialects, this is one book every transcriptionist should have. To look up a word by disease and/or symptom is a lot faster than a flashlight without batteries in the dark! I highly recommend this book to medical transcriptionists whether a beginner, intermediate or experienced one.

Lets get organized
The author talks about boosting up medical practices. Afterhaving finished reading it, I did not retain even one thought. Thewritting and the organization of the book are messy and the author is lost in details. There are no focus points (and then examples to illustrate these points). Really not worth spending the money and the time to read it. His material is only common sense and there is no ...

John W. Gollatz
Practice Management Information Corporation, 1998
Excellent Find
Dr. Gollatz takes on the multifaceted problem of healthcare reform. The context is geared to the both the professional and the layman. It gives various approaches to reform and examines the consequences that can arrise from each approach. He leans toward the use of Medical Savings Accounts at the end because it leaves the ultimate choices to the patient. This book is a well written find.

The Best for the Least
I think that it's terrific to have finally found a current coding manual with all of the three necessary coding systems combined in one manual for nearly the price of one coding manual. Anyone interested in properly coding you need to take a look at this one.

So Easy To Use
If you're going to update your cpt book, be sure to pick this one up. Not only does it come with tabs to divide each section for quick reference, but the spiral binding is extremely convenient for looking up codes. Now you can leave a page exposed without worrying about the book falling closed, which is fabulous!

An objective and fair look at long-term care insurance
This book offers realistic and objective advice regarding long-term care insurance. The author understands why so many of us procrastinate when it comes to buying a long-term care policy. He really helped me break through the "paralysis of analysis." I imagine a few long-term care insurance agents won't like the book, because the author tells some war stories from his experience in helping ...

ICD-9 code sanity
As a nurse practitioner student, I am required to practice using the ICD-9 codes with my charting and clinical logs. This made it easier for me to find the codes I need without having to go back in the EMR at my clinical sites to find the codes. Granted using a website is faster than flipping pages, but it's the next best thing.

Excellent book for educators.
As an educator, I think this book is one of the best I have read on this subject. It is factual and covers both social and medical aspects of HIV infection and AIDS. Its focus is scientific but it explains a wide range of technical concepts (eg current drug therapies, methods of detection) in suprisingly easy and straightforward terms. It has a very humane feel to it as its authors are both ...

A Must Have For All Physician Offices!!
I currently work in a family practice office and we use the standard CPT 2000 code book. While it is just fine and there is nothing wrong with it. I have found the Professional version to be a much better choice. I am studying to take the AAPC coding test to become a Certified Professional Coder. I have been using the CPT 2000 Professional book in my studies. The graphics are clear and ...
