Six-Minute Solutions for Mechanical PE Exam Machine Design Problems2 reviews
Harriet G. Cooke

Professional Publications (CA), 2005

an acceptable resource
Many good problems, however this 1st printing is plagued with a large number of solution errors and typo's. As of this posting, the errata website in my option is still lacking many of the errors. Errors aside, it was a helpful resource.

FE Review Manual: Rapid Preparation for the General Fundamentals of Engineering Exam96 reviews
Michael R. Lindeburg

Professional Publications (CA), 2000

An excellent preparation tool
Give yourself about 3 months (or more) and go through the entire book. Follow the author's instructions on how to use the manual. If you go through each chapter and do the questions, you will pass the FE. The format and level of complexity are a spot on match to the test. Time is a factor with this method, it is about 3 inches thick, so don't wait until you have 3 weeks left to study. Pay ...

Civil Engineering Reference Manual for the PE Exam, 10th Edition62 reviews
Michael R. Lindeburg

Professional Publications (CA), 2005

Take this book with you to the Civil PE Exam
Do take this book to the civil PE exam. It had the info for all the Qs save one on the Oct '07 exam. Do not study everything in this book. Use the list of topics available on the NCEES website to organize your study efforts. If you use this book to create your study plan for the exam, you'll won't have had time to study all the topics on the exam by the time it rolls around. Do not ...

Interior Construction & Detailing for Designers and Architects, Third Edition2 reviews
David Kent Ballast

Professional Publications (CA), 2005

Thorough knowledge for Interior construction and details
This book should be on the shelves of every interior designer- it's so thorough that it's a little cumbersome at first. It should be used as a reference book, it gives chapter-by-chapter explanations on the specifics for the construction and application of windows, casegoods, partitions, etc. If there is ever any doubt in a designers mind as to how exactly something is constructed or works ...

FE/EIT Sample Examinations9 reviews
Michael R. Lindeburg

Professional Publications (CA), 1999

Good Book
This book has two complete exams. Each one have answers sheets, problems for AM and PM sections and answers. The problems are like the examination problems. I recommend this book.

Interior Design Reference Manual: A Guide to the NCIDQ Exam11 reviews
David Kent Ballast

Professional Publications (CA), 2002

great study guide
I'm studying to take the NCIDQ and this book is a great tool. Each chapter gives a thorough review of each section in the NCIDQ and then asks you sample questions so you can quiz yourself. The best part is the answers to the sample questions because it gives the explanation of why the answer is correct and why the other options were not. Very helpful because several questions make it hard to ...

Mechanical Discipline-Specific Review for the FE/EIT Exam1 review
Michel Saad, Abdie H. Tabrizi, ...

Professional Publications (CA), 1997

Mechanical discipline-Specific Review for the FE/EIT Exam
The book was a great help for a Mechanical Engineer that forgot some of the basic knowledge because not using the information after college. If you plan on taking discipline-specific second part of the exam this book is a very must have.

Six-Minute Solutions for Civil PE Exam Problems: Water Resources6 reviews
R. Wane Schneiter

Professional Publications (CA), 2003

PE Review Manual
The review manual has been very helpful in preparing for the exam so far. It has many problems with complete worked out solutions that are very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone preparing for the PE exam.

Engineer-In-Training Reference Manual (Engineering reference manual series)8 reviews
Michael R. Lindeburg, Professional Publications

Professional Publications (CA), 1992

A manual worth having now and later
I consider this manual a very good source of help not only for the FE/EIT exam, but also for future engineering related tasks. I would definitely recommend this manual to anyone interested in the field of math and science.

Six-Minute Solutions for Civil PE Exam: Transportation Problems4 reviews
Norman Voigt

Professional Publications (CA), 2004

Good Practice Problems
The problems in this book are all qualitative. The solutions in this book show possible errors that can occur when solving the problems in addition to the correct solution. Below the problem is a "hint" to help you get started in the right direction. I didn't use the "hints" and didn't find them to be effective for my learning style. The problems are more in-depth than those found on the test ...

Jump Start the HP 48G/GX: Featuring Engineering & Science Applications2 reviews
Thomas Adams, Merle Potter

Professional Publications (CA), 2003

learn the basics
The Hewlett Packard 48G family of handheld graphic calculators are superb instruments suffering only from a slow processor and what has become famous as a User Guide useful sole to those who already know how to use the calculator. This book will for the most part clarify things so one can use the User Guide although it can do nothing to speed up the calcified and arthritic slowness of ...

Civil PE Sample Examination4 reviews
Michael R. Lindeburg

Professional Publications (CA), 2005

I passed first time, so no complaints here!
The sample problems in this text prepare you only in the sense that it gets you back into thinking again like a college student preparing for a big exam. Being a few years out of college, reviewing these problems got me back into study mode. Most of the problems in this book are much more difficult and involved than the problems on the actual exam. When I began studying I looked at the ...

Practice Problems for the Civil Engineering PE Exam: A Companion to the Civil Engineering Reference ...18 reviews
Michael R. Lindeburg

Professional Publications (CA), 2005

By far the best review and in-test reference book for the civil PE
By far the best review and in-test reference book for the PE. Didn't have to use any other book really for the civil PE national exam. Passed the first time. It even came a little bit in handy for the California survey exam, and to a little lesser extent the seismic. But overall a great reference book for the 8-hour. I still use it every so often at work to this day.

Electrical Discipline-Specific Review for the FE/EIT Exam6 reviews
Robert B. Angus, John E. Hajjar, ...

Professional Publications (CA), 1997

The sample problems are out of date with the current test.
The sample problems in this book do not adequatley represent the types of problems in the current FE exam. There is more emphasis on op-amps and transistor circuits than this study guide shows. This book does not adequately cover op-amps and transistors.

Chemical Engineering Practice PE Exams2 reviews
N. S. Nandagopal

Professional Publications (CA), 2001

Good second resource for practice exam
First the bottom-line. If you are going to get only one practice exam book, do not get this, get the one published by NCEES which has one practice exam. However, if only one practice exam does not do it for you (and it won't, for most people), this book should be used as the "other" practice book for PE exams. This book helps because it has two full exams. I used both the NCEES review exam ...

Civil Discipline-Specific Review for the FE/EIT Exam7 reviews

Very few problems but with solutions to prepare you better
The book has two test and one practice test. The area this book covers are: Surveying, Hydraulics & Hydrology, Soils & Foundation, Env. Engg., Transportation, Structural Analysis & Design, Construction Management, and Materials. The practice exams are not that difficult but agian book is just to get you familiar with what kinds of question one can expect in the FE Civil part.

Practice Problems for the Electrical and Computer Engineering PE Exam: A Companion to the Electrical ...2 reviews
John A. Camara

Professional Publications (CA), 2001

Practice Problems
I it is a new book. It does not look like he finished working on it before it went to press. Many chapters have a blank page with the words 'There are no proctice problems corresponding with Ch. 2 ...". I have not had the time to go through it all, but I have found quite a few errors. For example Ch 61 Practice Problem #1 the correct answer is 78.23 km He forgets to multiply by 2 for the ...
