Be Safe!: Simple Strategies for Death-Free Living15 reviews
Melissa Heckscher

Quirk Books, 2004

Relevant and Charming
This book is brimming with tons of useful and eye-opening tips that channel the hypochondriac in everyone. The author has done an exhaustive amount of research on the hazards of our day to day choices--many of which I have never even thought twice about. The mini packaging makes it an adorable and handy gift.

Museum of Kitschy Stitches: A Gallery of Notorious Knits14 reviews
Stitchy McYarnpants

Quirk Books, 2006

Still Laughing!
This book was so funny that even my husband -- who has never knit or crocheted in his life -- was laughing, too. Whether it was making fun of the poses of the models or the items they were wearing, I laughed so hard that I could hardly get my breath. It wasn't just that some of the items were obviously from another era and therefore outdated (ooh, did we really think granny squares were that ...

Joe Borgenicht, M.D., Louis Borgenicht, ...

Quirk Books, 2007

world's best shower gift
This kit not only contains some pretty good information but it makes a lovely change for the couple opening gifts at a baby shower. Especially if the father is present, this is a gift for BOTH. Passed around, it makes people laugh. After baby comes the info is actually appreciated.

DadLabs: Pregnancy and Year One13 reviews
Clay Nichols, Owen Egerton, ...

Quirk Books, 2009

Great book!
I read both this one and What to expect when your wife is expanding, and while they had similar info, this one had moe extra little tidbits, and, in my opinion, funnier comedy. As a first time dad and developmental psychologist, I found this book to be accurate and informative, but funny enough and short enough to keep me reading.

Graceland: An Interactive Pop-Up Tour29 reviews
Chuck Murphy

Quirk Books, 2006

Soooo cool!
We just got back from our first trip to Memphis/Graceland 2 weeks ago and my husband surprised me with this for our anniversary. It is AMAZING. The attention to detail is amazing and it felt like we were back in Graceland. My favorite is the kitchen because the spices in the kitchen reminded me of when I was a kid and I wanted so bad to peek in the cupboards and this book allows you to do ...

Your Big Fat Boyfriend: How to Stay Thin When Dating a Diet Disaster14 reviews
Jenna Bergen

Quirk Books, 2009

Entertaining and informative!
Jenna Bergen does a great job of keeping readers entertained while giving helpful advice. The book reads like a story to keep the pages turning while giving female readers help with tricky dating/food situations she will likely encounter. Ladies--we have definitely all been there! You can compete with your boyfriend in many things--but an eating contest is not one of them (or shouldnt be!). ...

Josh Jenisch

A Nostalgic Collection
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R36T30BHQPQU8C I have no idea what this book was going to be. The Art of the Video Game. Risa Williams, Ezra Werb

Quirk Books, 2007

What Do Your 10 Favorite Movies Reveal About YOU?
"Movies are the mythic tales of today. They can make us cry, scream, or laugh. They can cheer us up or bring us down. And just like those ancient stories of humans struggling for the favor of the gods, movies tend to focus on a hero undertaking some kind of journey, whether it be physical, intellectual or emotional." - From Cinescopes Quick: list your ten favorite movies. Did Michael ...

Comedy Thesaurus10 reviews
Judy Brown

Quirk Books, 2005

I'm a standup comic and I contribute jokes to Judy for her joke books.
I'm a standup comic and I contribute jokes to Judy for her joke books. I've connected with many new fans who found me through the jokes in Judy's books. I'm glad I let Judy use my material, because despite my film and tv credits, it was Judy's use of my jokes that convinced my family that maybe this comedy thing of Basil's might pan out into something real. Thanks Judy. Her books are also ...

Escape from Fire Island!5 reviews
James H. English

Quirk Books, 2003

Campy, B-movie choose-your-own fun...
OK, I liked this - I really liked it! Toxic waste is turning everyone on Fire Island into homicidal zombie drag queens; do you flee to the ferry, attempt to find a way to defeat the tottering-on-platform-heels undead, or try to score at the nearest bar? [Think of your favorite cheesy zombie flick, but where the girlish screams come from a drama queen instead of a cheerleader!] As a ...

Gladstone's Games to Go: Verbal Volleys, Coin Contests, Dot Duels, and Other Games for Boredom-Free Days8 reviews
Jim Gladstone

Quirk Books, 2004

No boredom--and your brain will thank you!
In this day and age of constant visual and aural stimulation--marketing and advertising messages, music of all sorts, cellphones, PDAs, you name it--it's SO refreshing to see that not everyone has given up hope. Jim Gladstone is obviously someone who values the grey cells, and puts his talent as a writer where his quirky interests are. Not only is this book FULL of original and updated games that ...

100 Cats Who Changed Civilization: History's Most Influential Felines6 reviews
Sam Stall

Quirk Books, 2007

Who knew??
This book kept me in stitches! I was really surprised to find that one cat is credited for destroying a whole species. It puts them right up there with man himself. On the other hand, I hope to see a sequel soon to include Hemingway's cats and maybe even a couple of my cats. No? Oh, well... If you're my friend, expect to get your own copy for Christmas!

The Groom's Instruction Manual: How to Survive and Possibly Even Enjoy the Most Bewildering Ceremony Known to ...9 reviews
Shandon Fowler

Quirk Books, 2007

Great for brides, too!
Anyone who is about to undergo the uniquely painful/wonderful process of planning a wedding will appreciate this witty and useful guide to all things nuptial. It may have been written with grooms in mind (the funny drawings and diagrams are particularly dude-oriented), but its non-nonsense, humorous approach to everything from inlaw drama to seating charts makes it a perfect gift for brides and ...

Date Him or Dump Him: The No Nonsense Relationship Quiz6 reviews
Melissa Heckscher

Quirk Books, 2003

I LOVE THIS BOOK!
This is such a fun book. It's sort of like all those other relationship, He's-Just-Not-That-Into-You type books, except it's interactive (which makes it much better). Definitely recommended for single girls, and guys who want to learn how to do things right.

Pardon My Spanglish: One Man's Guide to Speaking the Habla6 reviews
Bill Santiago

Quirk Books, 2008

The BEST Booko anyone can possibly leer!
This booko esta demasiado funny pero con exageración! Es increíblemente genial y le doy las gracias a Bill por haber compartido con nosotros el detalle del "Habla" con sus explicaciones locas pero useful a la vez. Sinceramente its been a long time coming. El sazón de las paginas con su everyday spanglishicity is totally off the chancla! I didn't realize how much of the Habla I actually use ...

Field Guide to Cocktails: How to Identify and Prepare Virtually Every Mixed Drink at the Bar10 reviews
Rob Chirico

Quirk Books, 2005

Time to Restock the Bar
As someone whose home bar currently comprises nothing more than gin, vodka, and a pathetic collection of triple sec, Rose's Lime Juice and Virgin Islands rum (a gift from vacationing parents), I skipped the recipes at first and went straight to the section of the book called ''Behind Bars: An Insider's Look at Ordering Out.'' Here was a list of useful tips for bar- and restaurantgoers. Among ...
