Unlike other crash diet programs, this weight loss program designed by Dr. Arthur Agatson provides a healthy food plan you can follow for life. Best cookbook I own!
I bought this cookbook several years ago based on someone's recommendation, and consider it one of my best purchases ever. The recipes are simple to prepare, delicious and healthy. I have not been disappointed in a single recipe. I was a little turned off at first because there were no photos of the prepared foods, but after months and months of use, I can honestly say that I use this cookbook ...

GREAT BOOK - GREAT AUTHOR
With arthritis, degenerative disk disease and spinal stenosis, I may very well be spending my last years in a wheelchair. With Ms. Stout's method of gardening, I will never go hungry. It is possible to plant a few plants (or harvest a few things) every day in the very early morning hours when I can stand to be outside. When my kids come see me, they lay a few bales of hay (or straw) around here ...

I Love This Book
I happened across this book in a second-hand store not knowing what to expect. After trying several of the recipes I am hooked. They are very simple, inexpensive, and tasty! There are also ideas on how to deal with particular ailments and the recipes are grouped accordingly.

To enjoy the benefits of fruits and vegetables.
Many years ago, I discovered a book titled: "Instant health the nature way", by Carlson Wade. Since then, I have become vegetarian and I have enjoyed the benefits of fruits and vegetables in my meals. This book is even better, therefore I recommend it.

Everything I need with a GREAT layout.
This book is wonderful in that it has all the information you could possibly want and it is sectioned very well. The only thing that I would prefer is a wider range of recipes for the salsas and things, but then again it is not a cookbook so I can't fault it for that.

A friend recommended this book -- it is the Quilting Bible, as far as I am concerned. Concise, descriptive. I don't know how I got along without it!

Excellent knowledgebase for raising and keeping veggies!
If you have a cellar and have a garden, this book is a great way to enjoy your harvest longer. It offers suggestions on what types of veggies to grow, and how to keep a crop growing longer. I don't know about you, but my garden takes a lot of work for the short Oregon growing season. I am thankful to have the advice of this book to help me get the most of our gardening efforts!

Not the Ordinary "how to get well with herbs" book
This book tells how to grow herbs, (with a variety of herb garden designing ideas) what the herbs and "spices" are used with and for. Thru-out the book there are "recipes" of different ways to use the herbs. How to make scented beads, soap, herbal oils, candles, perfumes, plus recipes for different food dishes. That is by no means all of the book, just a small part. Great reference for those who ...

Phenomenology or Farming?
Some have said that the Fukuokan philosophy is the tap root of what is now more broadly called Permaculture, only Masanobu Fukuoka was a Japanese farmer, working with rice and winter grain in a southern Japanese climate. Both are no-till methods that shun the use of chemicals. However, Fukuoka should be set apart from farming in general and Permaculture in particular, in that The One-Straw ...

It's a "must have" for a woodworker's library
I bought this book because I have difficulty in two areas. One is in visualizing the construction details for a design I've sketched out. The other is in deciding what joints will be most appropriate. This book covers those two topics extremely well. In fact, better than any other book in my library. The text is very well written. He says what he has to say in a concise and easy to read way. ...

Fundamentals of Riding
Great book. I can see improvement after few weeks following the 7 week training system. My riding average speed improved from 16mph to 19mph on the same route. I am expecting further improvement in the coming weeks. Lowering my weight to the ideal Body Mass Index also help. Listening to my body and taking my rest heart rate in the morning helps me to determine how much should I push myself later ...

A Breath of Fresh Air
I couldn't resist the pun for the title, but it expresses my feelings about this book. I can actually say, for the first time, having read this book, that I understand the basics of finish materials themselves, how they work chemically, how they may be combined (alternatively, when they should not be), what processes each finish type is best suited to, the roles of solvents (thinners) and ...

Excellent Book to begin knifesmithing
I got this book out of my local library and I can't wait to get started making a knife. I've recently ordered a copy for myself. It will be edgeworn soon. This book is an excellent place to start making knives for the beginner, since Boye uses recycled steel. His explanations and diagrams and photos of the process are invaluable for this endeavor. I only wish he wrote one on folding knives.
